Gran Turismo 5 playable at "Festival du Jeu video" next friday

So any body notice the Reflections and lighting is 2Xs that of prologue? not to mention the added AA. infact i had it playing side by side of prolougue, and the cars in GT5 look way better then the cars on GT5p. GT5 look's that of real life in my eyes.

i mean there some serious upgraded graphics right there. it makes prologue look very old.

Have any videos of the Enzo surfaced yet?

There were no Enzo, at least on the ps3 booth. The Enzo Jujub was talking about was refering to the next demo coming for the Tokyo Game Show.

There were 4 new cars Solberg's Subaru, Hirvonen's Ford Focus, Nissan 370Z and HKS CT230R.

If I could, I would have shot the track introduction and that Ford Focus replay but I was running out of time and people behind me were getting bored to wait because I played then I recorded the replay...

the Reflections and lighting is 2Xs that of prologue

I agree with you but you have to consider that there were only 10 cars on track and that the replay always looks better than during gameplay. I've seen some minors improvements but I think it's still too close to what we can witness on the london track. I expect more improvements for the final version. The guy at Sony booth was sure that final version will definetly blow Forza 3 away.

I second you !

I went from GT5 Prologue to GT5 there and I immediately noticed the extra AA and improved lighting !

No car was damagable except for the Subaru.
The other cars also werent drivable, he "just" switched to them in the replays.

How can this game look that real now? i just dont get it. 3rd picture bottom row....that is just...

speechless... T10 actually think they can compete with that? "best looking racing game" are people blind?

I don't see how you can make much comparison on anything detail related off a compressed video capture off a video wall...

Looks great to be sure, but you can tell the AA is better from that?

Sure if you pause portions of the video in HD it's very noticeable.

and this is how i can make a comparison...

from this. latest build with Ferrari, there not serious are they.

First of all I was referring to comparison to GT5P, but regardless it's still comparing from a compressed (720 or not) video of a display... that's just asking to loose all kinds of detail (which you would need to compare AA since the camera taking a picture of a display do a lot of softening of edges and jaggies on it's own).

Not necessarily the AA, buy my god, the specular mapping is absolutely outstanding.

While the lighting is almost certainly played with by the cameras iris, I have to say that it certainly does appear the lighting is superb on that car. All else aside, I can't see how the cars in GT5 would be anything but gorgeous!

That actually looks pretty damn good, but the shaders themselves are seemingly to blame here.

Is that really a screenshot of the Ferraris cockpit? I mean, don't get me wrong, I have nothing really 'against' Forza...but that's pretty pathetic. It looks...plastic and colourless.

And im not knocking Forza or anything, i have 1 and 2, still play 1 occasionally, But Turn 10 do not need to make any false statement's like they did at E3, the enviorments look astonishing, but the car's look like masses of nothingness in my eyes, They did no just justice at all to that Ferrari interior.. And to be honest that does not even look any where near as good as TDU's interiors. but that's just my opinion.

looks dissapointing.. I will love forza for the engine swaps and paint jobs but this is nothing to gloat about.. looks like a plastic interior and the floor pan looks like a solid image

Dont say that on f.net... The whole site and che will come after you..

Oh come on guys, that Ferrari 355 interior shot doesn't look bad there are worse, the main problem I can tell from some FM3 interior pics is the lack of texturing, not sure if this is just because of time deadlines or have been added in the final version we havent seen yet. Example

Oh and thanks mimaximax, finally someone who knows how to use the replay controls records video 👍

I like that AI Audi pass on the Blitz ER34 in the HKS CT230R video :)

....Yay some one else noticed the R8 passing the blitz, GT5 is looking to be fun.

And also at that picture, All thoughs blind fools on f.net said the above pictures looked better then NFS shift.... time for turn 10 to put the cat nip away....

no wonder they bragged about modeling all 400 interiors... You get what you pay for.

Thanks G.T. ace!! You've made my night. Man, I can't wait for TGS 09. I hope we get some nice High-res photos, and direct feed videos.

FINALLY GOOD AI, that scene of over taking the blitz impressed the hell out of me.....and they all took that curve really fast... in GT5p they would have slowed to a crawl....But no the R8 went way inside.

@Redbaron good eye, i just noticed that lol.

And the whole block of buildings disappearing at 2:10 of HKS CT230R video is just astonishing!

Ha, i had a bet with myself that you would be the first one pointing this out without writing something positive, i won!

Now i owe me something. 8(

My complaint is that the damage looks extremely scripted. In every video, roughly the same thing happens to the Subaru. Bumpers hang loose, doors come open, and then off. A door coming off should be a 1 in a 100 occurrence, caused by a freakishly severe and awkward crash. It should be "omfg the door came off!!>", rather than, "yeah yeah, of course I've lost both my doors, I had a bad lap". The damage is looking (extremely) repetitive after about a dozen plays.

I totally agree with you. All of the "Subaru Damage" videos looks the same. The front bumper is always falling on one side (always left from the inside car) and hanging on the other side, doors are kind of flippers. I would expect a more dynamic damage, example in "front to front accident" I would expect the hood to fly off in the first hit and not having the doors just get open and the car still drivable. In this kind of crash the car can not be driver any more (unless it was 15km/h rather than 100km/h).
So if that is how damage going to be in GT5 then it's disappointing since we've waited for damage so long and it just doesn't look real as KY said before.
I hope it will be change for TGS but since this is a GC build I don't think it will happen - I think this is the damage we will have in the game (until first update at least). Still I hope I will be wrong.

Just wander how old the build of this demo is, missing spectators, sponsor build boards, buildings dropping out.
I think we might be caught of guard, assuming that this is their best. PD probably threw us a bone to keep us busy,
but didn't give us their best. A lot of what I'm seeing appears to be a early build. :)

Could be even more than a year old. Making demo's always has been expensive and time consuming, so you don't make them for each and every occasion. For a lot of games a demo has never been made. To me the GC demo seems to be something to keep the mob from revolting since they have retracted any announcement (and probably a real demo) and you really can't show Prologue Spec III for the 2nd time on all those demo pods, can you?
