Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

Just one more day and we will have some news. Apparently a Nordic retailer has listed GT6 for both PS3 and PS4, possible a cross platform? I doubt it but interesting thought.

It really can't just be for GT Academy. GT Academy owes its success to the empire that Gran Turismo is. So there just has to be more....

And we can't forget this is also a celebration of 15 years in the business. That's an accomplishment and we, the fans, are a major part of the success!

And GT6 is just around the corner; it's a secret to nobody. Who knows how much they'll divulge. That's the real question.

Agreed with everything in you've said. 👍 It is a celebration of 15 years of GT, not just GT Academy... I'm really happy we've brought GT this far, and GT bringing us along with it into the future. Hope they'll share us lots of good information, especially the important ones. Soon will be one more day until the day of the celebration, this has to be a good one. :)

CorvetteConquer's forecast:

1. Introducing GT Academy 2013 and the program's continued success

2. Trailer of KTM/Redbull driving on GT6's rendition of Silverstone

3. Announcement of GT6 and for which console(s). No specific date, but a general season (Holiday 2013)

4. Gran Turismo Vita teaser

5. Unveiling of the mystery car. Will be free DLC on GT5

E3 2013= playable gameplay. And a lot more information on GT6's features, cars, tracks, etc.

AMPMROCKETFANN's Forecast

1. Speeches by manufacturers in attendance mostly to do with collaboration with PD.
2. car demos (hopefully with donuts) by Nissan, KTM, and Red Bull racing.
3. Announcement of GT6, starting with an epic trailer clip mashup
4. Mystery car launch
5. GT Academy contest/minigame and assorted (possible DLC)
6. (prediction) GT5 Final Run DLC with rere'd Stealth/Chromelines and maybe teaser cars/tracks from GT6

E3: Full Flex;)

I like yours and Corvetteconquer forecasts! :) It's what I expect too.

For fun factor reasons, I was thinking on ''the maximus perfect dream forecast '' for the event, and it's pretty simple:

Black stage, a light shines on the center, Kazunori gets in, then 4 vehicles approach him, one by one: a GT Academy GTR, the secret car unveiled, then a bike and finally a Porsche GT3 approaches... All available on GT6 on PS3 and Vita crossplay, later for PS4.

GTPlanet melts in seconds, people get heart attacks and scream like little girls (I would).

Now you can laugh. :)

I guess it would be asking too much for the people not to bog the hell out of the site once the news hits.

Thanks, that was funny

I don't see why there would be much of any DLC. This meeting is more likely for GT6, not GT5.

I expect the car under the cover will be dlc celebrating 15 years. But 15 years is a pretty big deal so maybe more than just a car. Maybe.

I am one of those people that actually LIKE to have dozens of versions of the same car as soon as we have variety on the other models... I like and don't care to have 20 different Miatas, if they are all modelled correctly (badges, details) AND if I have different versions for other cars too... (I would like to have a regular BMW 550i and a M5, regular 335i and M3 and so on...)

I think a modeler can make all those Miatas in premium "flavor" in 10 days... its interesting to have the 2 NA Miatas, for example... one have the wooden details inside, the other, doesn't. It does make a difference? YES, I like that.

I would like to have another car instead of another version of an already modeled car? Sure! But it's 2 different kinds of jobs...

I believe that GT6 will have around 550-600 premium cars, being 500 unique cars and the rest, different versions, like Corvette C6, C6 Z06, C6 ZR-1, etc...

I am all for having diff specs of the same iteration of a car. Even if just year to year variants. The ones I don't want just vary in localization.

We haven't gotten any DLC in months because at this point, PD's focus is the future and GT6. We won't be getting any DLC.

It must be premiums only GT6, computers are many times faster than 5-6 years ago.
Modeling a car took 6 months i belive is at start, now with experience and new computers and faster networks, servers and so on it can be done in a month or two...and if they have good cad drawings from manufacturors the nowday models should be done fast.
No excuse to have standard cars in GT6.

It was 6 months per person per car.

I don't think newer computers will stream-line the process that much. PD have their own ritual when modeling the cars; from snapping multiple pictures at different angles, to laser scanning, and then onto the computer modeling, itself.

Here's a cool link to read how in-depth the entire process can be (physical Corvette to virtual Corvette)

Would be great if the KTM Xbow is the next car to go through some of PD's vigorous modeling.

I still think 6 months is a long time. PD needs to come up with a more efficient way of getting things done.

Theres about 21 business days per month. So 6 months of manpower is 126 days times 8 working hours. Thats a total of 1,008 hours of work to design one car at GT5 premium level quality.

At first it may seem excessive. But if you factor in the amount of time to photograph the car, scan it, and then build it in 3D with even the smallest details, I can see the process lasting up to 1000 hours.

You brought it up. The Standard cars weren't bonuses by any measure other than "they didn't put any effort into them in comparison to the Premiums." They weren't advertised as bonuses. They weren't utilized in the game as bonuses. And Sony went out of their way to downplay any disadvantages they would have had to make them be considered bonuses before you bought the game. That you view them as bonuses is all fine and dandy, but not everyone did nor should they have.

I think you are both wrong. Standards are standard, premiums are the bonus.

It would be nice to have more bonuses, but don't take standards away until a premium model exists

Looks kinda legit...

However, it looks to be more of an assumption as no other major gaming news groups have posted similar...
