Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

Theres two sides here. One wants to see how amazing GT will look next gen while the other wants to play GT6 without shelling $400+ on it.

Hopefully most people are on the 3rd side: "Don't give a rat's ass on which platform it's on, as long as it's GT6."

They are leaving the hotel!

There's a time convertor in Jordan's blog post.

It's certainly possible that someone's obtained a leaked press release - though my experience is that these will be in a packing case right now and only given out on entry to the presentation - and are publishing it. It's incredibly unwise for them to do this, because PD will just return to the days of dribbling info and "soon" if they can't trust the media they invite.

Anybody want that?

Just a note
The time converter, in the blog post, does not seem to work fine, at least for Italian time conversion.
It gives me 2 hour difference while, actually time difference Italy-UK is just 1...
3 pm in Silverstone means 4 pm in Italy as far as I know.

i think is like the 2873837th time someone ask that but... is there a place where we can see it in streaming, or ateast have the information as soon as they will be given?

We've received no press releases and we are on the road now. We have been told we will receive them at the circuit. I don't think iAfrica is at this event.

It probably has something to do with daylight saving time.

Ora legale, insomma.

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced Gran Turismo 6, the latest version of PlayStation's best-selling franchise, will be released in the holiday season, 2013. The news was revealed today by Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi at an event held to celebrate 15 years of the top-selling series.

"GT6 for PlayStation 3 will bring new levels of authenticity to 'the Real Driving Simulator' as well as introducing stunning new tracks and cars and a revised user interface," a press statement read.

"A new compact game engine will improve operation and increase the flexibility to expand it with downloadable content."

The game is also set for connectivity with devices such as smartphones and tablets for social and community functions.

All of the cars and tracks from Gran Turismo 5 will be retained in GT6. But notable additions to the line-up of historic cars, road cars and the latest race cars, brings the total car list to 1200 at launch, with new cars set to be continually added online.

Several thousand aerodynamic parts and custom wheels will be available for almost all cars, and players can personalise their own custom cars in-game as well.

The UK's Silverstone Circuit will be one of seven new locations in Gran Turismo 6, taking the total to 33, with 71 different layouts available, 19 of them being new.

New tracks are also set to be made available online, while the course maker has also seen improvements.

The press statement confirmed that the GT Academy series, which sees Nissan and Sony team up to find real racing drivers, will be returning.

Other notable partnerships in the development of GT6 have been with tyre manufacturer Yokohama Rubber and suspension company KW Automotive.

"It is amazing to think that it is 15 years since we first released Gran Turismo," explained Kazunori Yamauchi, during the announcement at Silverstone Circuit.

"Things have changed a lot since then and now Gran Turismo 6 is a further evolution of my dream. We're pleased to deliver GT6 to PlayStation 3 as we have a very loyal community on that platform.

Editor's note: We were informed of an embargo a few minutes after the story was published. The initial press release contained no such warning.

Guys, GMT not consider "ora Legale", Italy timing does.

CET is our timing and this is +1 hour from GMT, with more 1 hour for the "Ora Legale".

Gogogo Jordan, we're going crazy for this... :)

As long as GT6 is an improvement, go make it on the PS3. People complaining are probably the same people who only look at graphics. The PS4 will be here for the next 7 years, it won't go away. Geez.

Have you played GT5 lately?

Loading times are unbearable, online is shaky (random disconnects, black screen, etc.) and no more than 16 cars on track simultaneously.

Can't wait for more RAM, SSD and a faster, more stable internet connection.

The UK is currently not on GMT, it's on BST (GMT+1). Italy would normally be on GMT+1 but is on CEST (GMT+1). Converting from GMT to CEST will give you a 2 hour time difference right now.

4pm BST at Silverstone is 3pm GMT, 5pm CEST.

Incidentally, the press are not even at Silverstone yet - they're just leaving the Sofitel at Heathrow. Which is 90 minutes' drive away from Silverstone. Leaks schmeaks.
If your lucky

The A43 is a nightmare at anytime of the day. I love Silverstone, but hate getting to and from it.

Fingers crossed the roads are good

Still not going to believe it but I do know one thing. Enthusia's spirit will be within GT6. :sly:

Still waiting for the OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEDMENT FIRST so again not believing anything yet.
