Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

I'm satisfied with only the content available as negative. I was expecting GT2 and GT4 type improvement in terms of content. DLC doesn't help because that would take away variety in the career mode

You're right - I didn't realize that yet: Just 7 new tracks (are they really new or including DLC-tracks from GT5?) are just not that much when I think of a new A-spec. So, what's gonna make me go through all that again with basically the same garage? new physics and visuals? maybe for some races, but not for the whole career mode.

They are not able to make a really new fresh-feeling career with just 7 tracks (or some more if you count the variations separately). :-(

IMO I think there won't be any standard cars in GT6.
If you watch the video that I posted below at 10:10 where they are showing a smooth mesh model for adaptive tessellation, if they used that to all the cars from GT5 they can make them look like premium cars perhaps.

It all depends on how much the game will cost. And i see this almost as a ps3/ps4 game, Kaz clearly says that this version is made for this reason. They will now have the base to test stuff out.
A week before Xbox is announced i think they are scared of Forza. Who will have the best strategy is not yet clear, but i do think Forza will show really new stuff and Kaz will cry a bit.

I have a feeling career mode will make use of the expanded track generator.

Hopefully it's full potential can be realised, we need some randomly generated point to point races. GT6 Mille Miglia like race with randomly generated stages would be awesome...

Highly unlikely.

Someone said that there would be 60 new cars, but in the video from the presentation they actually say 200 new cars.

At 12:59 it also looks like the custom wheels will come with different width. Perhaps that will affect the size of the tyres?

More freedom in creating tracks with the course maker!

They have a history of understating the amount of cars, so we'll likely get more new cars than we think.

Ok, now I can confirm this:

The official press release states that there are 71 track layouts in total in the initial release of GT6 and that they are 19 more layouts than GT5.

GT5 with all DLCs has 60 layouts in total:

If we remove the DLC layouts, then there are 52 layouts in total.

However, 71-19 = 52

So they are clealy referring to the vanilla version of GT5, without any DLC!
From this I infer that GT6 will have all GT5 tracks, GT5 DLC tracks, and a few completely new tracks.

What about the garage, do we still only have one! Personally, I would rather have only the premium cars than 1200 cars and only one garage...there are way too many cars to keep track of in this game  Other than that I can't wait, I will pre-order as soon as possible 👍

To be technical, they were comparing at the time of release in which GT5 had 1000ish vs. GT6 having 1200ish. Also, they didn't exactly say 200 NEW cars, but rather 200 more. Whether that's 200 more from GT5's release count, or 200 more inlcuding the DLCs, we're not too sure. To be on the safe side, I'm going with 60, if I'm factoring time spent on remodeling some of the standards as well.

So it won't even be 7 new locations on top of what GT5 has to date, but they are still going to try to justify monthly track DLC?

My hat is rooted strictly on my head.

Ronda is a cool place. Been there on holiday quite a few times. There are some very cool roads driving up to Ronda from the coast.

The bridge is a great site. It has also got one of the oldest bullrings in Spain there - right near the bridge.
Would it be like Citta di Aria? I can se a lot of fun being had if that's the case.

I apologise if that's already been answered but this thread has jumped almost by 2,000 posts since yesterday...just working my way through the backlog since 17:00 BST

.

That's even if it is released on a regular basis, I seem to remember they said that for GT5 and it never happened and what bit there was, well apart from the odd bit was quite underwhelming.

NAAAH, I hardly doubt it. What PD and Sony did was actually smart. Just like how well Sony are doing with the PS4, Kaz and PD are doing the very same with GT6. :sly:

Well, that kind of sucks, but if they make time/weather variable on all tracks I might be able to forgive them. Of course, we would need more than just a handfull of enduro races to take advantage of it.
