Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

Are the people who think they will be able to modelize any road from their GPS the same as the ones who thought GT6 would have around 100 tracks?

Come on men: stop dreaming...

I can see it panning out as:

-Roughly 600 "Premium" cars
-600 slightly improved standards (maybe one or two details in the cockpit, jaggies smoothed, pixelation smoothed a bit)
-Livery editor finally
-the 'thousands' of aerodynamic parts wont all be available on each car, maybe a handful for each
-Plenty of alloys to choose from though
-Fads like paint chips gone
-Better UI
-The physics will no doubt be better
-16 player multiplayer remains
-Potentially larger races in GT mode?
-Most sounds carried over from GT5
-More intricate tuning

Not quite sure what to make of this 'car creator' thing everyone is talking about. Course creator was hyped massively as this construction kit to create your ideal track on GT5 and turned out like it did.

I need more info before I jump into one of the "Its like GT5.5" or "Its an entirely new game" camps.

There has been nothing said about a livery editor (at least not at the presentation, maybe there's some other source for that which I've missed though). What was said at the presentation was "personalization". Later on, Kaz spoke about having more wheel options and aero options and it seemed to me like that was related to the "personalization".

I wonder what "every car from GT5 coming back" means for licenses such as WRC and NASCAR. Are they going to update the liveries/car styles?

Wondering if they'll announce a limited edition soon enough? I missed out on the one for GT5, but i'd love to have one for GT6.

One interesting fact is that the Countach in the trailer is not listed as new to Gran Turismo. The interior also looks rather dark, but the exterior and the textures looks smooth and clean. Is that a standard car? If it is, that sets a new standard for the standards, so to speak.

Xzhibit says:
"Yo Dowg we put some smoth and clean textures in your standards,
so you can drive your standards,
while we set a new standard for the standards!":)

...or is it a premium? It doesn't look as shiny as other premiums, but on the other hand it's an old model and car design has come a long way since the 70's. I simply can't tell.

I think it's premium but we have to wait for some interiors screens to be 100% sure.

lol, of course it's premium. And it looks great.

Any car being displayed today are premiums. I don't even know why I'm even having to say this lol :P

Im hopeful that they have cherry picked a few standards from GT5 for the premium treatment, to add to the already premium models and new cars being introduced. They must have done so in the past 3 years.

Today we saw: Countach LP400, and the Alpine A110 (though it's a slightly newer model by a few years).

These have been selected, so far.

It could be that they decided to include "semi-premium" cars with a fully modeled exterior but only partially modeled (or not modeled at all) interiors, which in 3d car modeling are what take the most time (and skill) to make. If this is the case, they there might be many less GT4-quality "standard cars" than expected.

The track map for SSR11 was spotted in the latest trailer.
If Top Gear Test Track is going to go away as rumored, that leaves room for another track. Rome Classic could be represented as track variations for the GT5 Rome Circuit and not count as a completely new track.

2 new "classic" tracks is the bare minimum they need to have "Classic GT courses requested by fans" written on the game box.

Anyway, with "33 locations" (pretty sure they mean "tracks"), "71 layouts", Brands Hatch, Silverstone, and Top Gear Test Track as a "placeholder" for any new track with a limited amount of layouts (including reverse ones), the track list is very likely to look like this to me:

I'd say, judging by this pic, we can use the "stowe" circuit also..

Lol yeah. My guess is they didn't watch the presentation? That or the ad is very misleading. Also, smartphones are only to be used for social features. Not sure how that came about as an idea to do extensive tasks like making/scanning locations. If it was that simple, PD would have hundreds of famous city like Rome, Seattle, Hong Kong, and whatnot for new tracks. We don't even have most of GT4's tracks for sake, let alone new ones. If PD can't make it fast/efficient enough, I don't see how we could on our own with a smartphone and PS3.

same, I had it pre-order but then cancelled it as I had to buy alot of xmas presents to buy but this time I'll get my xmas shopping done early and buy the limited edition of GT 6 as soon as it hit the online shops

It might be there only for looks and not be actually usable (a bit like the Bugatti Circuit at La Sarthe for example) when seen upclose. However, for Silverstone including all main variations is a given as they can be obtained merely by closing down portions of the full GP circuit.

I'm trusting PD and Kaz to know what they're doing. I'm very optimistic and think they might upgrade all cars to premium. One sign of this is the statement they said that all cars will have multiple aero parts. Atleast the quality of standards are higher then gt5.

Fake channel.

I think IF the GPS to track feature is implemented as the picture alludes to it will probably work the same as some apps on smartphones at the moment.

It will most probably track your co-ordinates and the height of the route you take, to obtain the length of straits, corners etc. As someone else said you get running apps that already do that, to track distance etc. Then when we have a layout for the track it is easy to just import that, and have it used in in the course editor to generate a track layout using the areas that are provided.

So you might decide to map your route from home to work, and then in game it could be mapped in the eifel area.

That is IF that picture can be believed. But then again as was said Kaz would want to save some info for gamescom E3 etc. So they might not reveal all at this stage, which might explain their silence on this and other subjects. :)

If that's what the standards will look like, I'll gladly take the standards. 👍
