I'm trusting PD and Kaz to know what they're doing. I'm very optimistic and think they might upgrade all cars to premium. One sign of this is the statement they said that all cars will have multiple aero parts. Atleast the quality of standards are higher then gt5.

Correction, almost all, not all. But yes, almost all would at least imply most are up to Premium quality, at least in terms of customization. I don't know about exterior modeling quality. I mean standard cars in GT5 could already receive spoiler and wheel upgrades. I have to admit though, having premium quality bumpers installed on a standard would be pretty weird huh? Or maybe the standards will have their own set?

First, look here. This is PD's official car list for GT5. It stands at 1,064. GT6 is supposed to have 1,200 cars at launch. 1,200 - 1,064 = 136 premiums.

We're not done yet.

Let's add the 136 new cars to the already existing premium car count from GT5's Master Car List. It shows 292 premiums (from GT5).

292 + 136 = 428.


I predicted 425- 525 for GT6. I guess we may have gotten the short end of the stick.

After taking a second look and actually zooming in to 100% I think it has to be a premium. Either that, or they spent all their budget modeling windscreen wipers for all the standard cars.

Really curious if there will be any improvements to the standards...

You're right - I didn't realize that yet: Just 7 new tracks (are they really new or including DLC-tracks from GT5?) are just not that much when I think of a new A-spec. So, what's gonna make me go through all that again with basically the same garage? new physics and visuals? maybe for some races, but not for the whole career mode.

They are not able to make a really new fresh-feeling career with just 7 tracks (or some more if you count the variations separately). :-(

This is why the more I think about it, the thought of paying $60 for a massive update to GT5 and then pay monthly for DLC, kinda pisses me off in a major way. And then there is the possibility of region exclusive preorder CRAP again!

Maybe it was referring to the cockpit updates. But it could potentially mean they've spent time upgrading the standards to premium, and we may see the culmination of this in GT6

Gamestop, apparently i was the first one to do so in my area.

Possibly Amazon will let you do it too, but i don't know.
