Gran Turismo 7 “April” Update Content Predictions…

Not sure we'll see much new content in the game, but we might see 3 café menus and events associated with them. We may even see time trials.

We will also see things from their 'known issues' list addressed.
Café content is more or less the only thing we have been told not to expect, based on the future updates preview.

That wouldn't be a GT update but a PS5 update and yes they have said it's coming so be patient.
Games also have to support it and have to be patched, otherwise if you force the VRR (this is an option just below on the screenshots they released) they advise it could cause visual issues.

So yes GT needs to update to support it, unless it’s already there but needs activation.

Because you don’t seem to have actually read the full press release from Sony I’ve quoted the relevant bit for you with the screen shot.

Sony: Previously released PS5 games can be fully optimized for VRR through a game patch and future games may include VRR support at launch.

As an added option, you can also choose to apply VRR to PS5 games that don’t support it. This feature may improve video quality for some games. If this results in any unexpected visual effects, you can turn off this option at any time. Both VRR and this secondary option can be turned on or off.

From the Car & Track prediction thread:
Man, if this was reality, that December update would be the perfect Christmas present for me lol. Absolutely love the Suzuki Cappuccino, and I'd love to see the Accord Euro R back in GT as well (learnt to drive in an '03 Accord Euro, fantastic car!)

The '71 Maverick looks awesome, and the Bellett and Autozam are great little cars as well. Then on top of that, a new original track! As much as I like the original tracks from past GT games, I love having completely new tracks to learn.

So all in all... perfect update, lol

Could doesn't mean will. When Sony has previously offered "boost" modes they gave the same warnings and I never had a problem. Being a first party game you can be sure GT7 will get a patch anyway.

Regarding the 24h races, am I the only one sensing the urge of the return of B-Spec like in GT4 and not that rubbish from GT6?

Some of the 'missing' Skylines, it aint a Gran Turismo without several hundred Skylines......
And a streetcar championship on the Japanese tracks for them.....

🤪

Did a fun bit of work working out what Premium cars from GT6 didn't make it to GT7 - link here! (GT6 premium missing)
I wonder which ones will be upgraded/added for GT7 ... noting that some of them won't be appearing due to licensing issues (Lotus, NASCAR etc)

There's 201 200 in the list, realistically there's probably about 183 that could come to GT7.

To put some perspective - the OP was content for those unsure. Also, with announcement today, does that mean with “few additional patches” of content, we could see quite a number of new cars in April?

Nice list. A couple of notes:

  • The 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 and 2008 Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) are in the game
  • While the 1986 Audi Sport Quattro S1 isn't in the game, the 1987 version that went up Pikes Peak is
  • Some of the custom builder cars probably fall into the licensing issues

Thanks! Removed the 71' Mach 1 and the Fairlady Z - the issue was the GTPlanet car list labels it as a 370Z!
I left the 1986 Quattro in, given the wing size difference!
Agreed RE: the customer builder cars - I guess we'll see :)

There is BMW Z4M missing too. Its different enough from convertible Z4. Its like comparing NISMO GT-R and ordinary one.

Thanks for the list! I was looking at it myself and glad someone compiled it together. The VW Kübelwagen Typ 82 '44 and VW Schwimmwagen Typ 166 '42 would be nice to have back to compliment the Jeep and would make for a nice World Circuit/Seasonal event in one of the updates. Not sure what for April would make it in, but there is a lot to work with, especially the Kei cars and the American muscle. Having a mix of GT6 returners and a couple of new entries would make for a good pack.

🤪
The only Skyline I want is the '89 R32 GTS-t Type M. It's not a V Spec nor a GTR model which makes it have different performance figures than the rest. There is some minor visual differences as well with this particular R32.

I really look forward to them doing something about the ridiculous handling of some cars, and the snap that still plagues the good ones. It is known enough and complained about enough that it is a highly visible issue that PD can't ignore. People that play GT for a living, have thousands of hours and A+ driver ratings are still having a hard time making it around tracks in even some GT3 cars, which is just a flat out stupid problem. The Audi Gr3 is an unreignable monster that spins at 140mph under throttle, tries to back itself into every corner and all this is with downforce... something that is so unrealistic it is tarnishing the feelings some have about the physics, which is 100% understandable. If it were a real life car, it would be banned from competition before it killed everyone around it. Same with some other Gr3, and many other various class cars.

The comfort tires, and all tires for that matter, are also ridiculously low grip and behave like old, hard junkyard tires where you can light them up in second with a low power car.

Then there's just the inability to predict and catch a car, then lock into a slide and meter your throttle to manage it. As it is, you have to COMPLETELY drop throttle to catch it and only accelerate when the car is perfectly settled, whereas in real life this division is much easier to deal with.

Still love the game despite the absolute deluge of problems, but I'm still very hopeful that we will see it come back to life when they release some "head out of their ass" updates.
Well said.

My guess is that we will get the Tesla Model 3 that was teased since the modeling on it is likely complete:
Fingers crossed!

This comment didn't age well. 🤣
Most of us were quite wrong. It's okay to be wrong, we're all humans after all, but too many around here make me think this:

You want pizza for supper. Mom says meatloaf. You throw a tantrum.

Now, if you get your way but continue to grouch, that doesn't reflect well on you.

They need to fix all of the gameplay issues more than they need to add cars and tracks. I wouldn’t care if, say, the Lexus LFA didn’t get added to GT7 until summer, as long as they fixed the stuff in need of fixing first.

Now, as far as new content after fixing everything is concerned:
  • New cars should include more recent stuff like the McLaren Senna and the 992 GT3. There is a noticeable lack of cars from the past five years in this game. More old-school stuff can be added at the same time though, but I know some of us like the newest cars.
  • For tracks, I would rather see more real-world circuits in the game. Sure, Apricot Hill and Grand Valley would be cool, but I would love to see Silverstone and Indianapolis return in GT7, as well as new-to-GT locations like Imola.
  • New World Circuits events should include more races with Gr.2 (GT500) and Gr.1 (LMP1/LMH) cars. More endurance races that last an hour or more for those who love a good and long period of racing and strategy. More one-make series and even a Vision GT series would be great too.
  • Give more circuits completely dynamic weather, particularly dynamic rain. Some obvious locations need the rain feature, like Interlagos. And why does one layout of Dragon Trail have the rain feature, but the other one doesn’t? Come on, PD! Personally, I love the added challenge of driving on a wet circuit.

Just my two cents

A little speculation on my part, but when you go to DMC in Brand Central, on the "channel" thumbnail shows the sneak preview of their new car that will be unveiled later this year. Do we think it will end up in GT7? 🤔

Edit: Also, I feel like 525k credits for the DeLorean is a bit excessive...

Don't know if here is the right place to post this but I have a theory (and maybe many people might have stated this too but I haven't noticed it before) that PD are previewing their plans on new car updates in Channel and Museum sections inside Brand Central. Here's some kind of proof for this by reviewing their counterpart dealerships in GT Sport:

  1. Ford featured a video of the 2018 IMSA Ford GT LM that was removed in GT7 when the 2018 Ford GT Racercar appeared.
  2. Corvette C4 appears more than 3 times in the Chrevolet Museum considering their different trims.
  3. Jaguar D-Type was featured 6 times.
  4. Mercedes-Benz museum shows at least 3 times the W194 300SL and 300SL Gullwing models (disregarding that the later was featured in previous iterations of the game).
  5. BMW has an image of some variant of the 3.0 CSi (if I'm not wrong), ressembling the additions of 3.0 CSL from '71 and '73.
  6. Ferrari musuem holds the one of highest number of predictions without any partnership, with the appearance of the Testarrosa, 308GTB, F50 (coming to GTS in an update), F12 Berlinetta, and FXX-K.
  7. Abarth shows a video of the 595 "50 anniversary".
  8. A new video of the Toyota GR Yaris appeared some months before the car actually debuts in the game.
  9. Nissan museum has a card dedicated for the Fairlady Z432.
  10. Mazda RX-8 Spirit R is featured in the brand musuem as well as the original RX-Vision and 2015 Demio (GTS update).
  11. Probably, the most evident manufacturer to demonstrate this is Porsche with their media showcases. The musuem section holds the appearence of the 356 A (both coupe and speedster), 550 Spyder (in a racing version), 917 (K and LH), 962, 911 Carrera RS (964), and the Carrera GT. In their channel section, there's a short video for the Porsche 962 in Daytona .

What are my predictions based on this? These are some possible returning and new faces based upon the number of similar car model appearances in the media:

  1. Ford Puma? - 1 (extremely low chances)
  2. Chevrolet Corvette C5 - 3 (maybe Z06)
  3. Chevrolet Camaro 5th Gen - 3 (low chances because it may be superseded by the 6th gen)
  4. Chevrolet Camaro 2nd Gen - 5
  5. Chevrolet Corvette C8 - 5 in total (nearly a confirmation at some point, hopefully a Z06)
  6. Dodge Charger - 3 (or up considering other trims)
  7. Dodge Coronet 5th Gen - 3
  8. Jaguar XK120 - 3
  9. Jaguar C-Type - 5 (I thought that was in the trailer video but it seems that it was the S Barker)
  10. Jaguar XJ220 - 2
  11. Aston Martin DBR1? - 1 (low chances)
  12. McLaren Artura? - 1 (very low chances)
  13. McLaren 765LT? - 1 (extremely low chances IMO)
  14. Volkswagen Golf 2 - 3
  15. Volkswagen Golf 3 - 3
  16. Volkswagen VW W12? - 5? (Very low chances)
  17. Volkswagen ID.4 or ID.5 - 4 in total
  18. Volkswagen ID.R - 1 (Medium chances, would be great alongside Pikes Peak)
  19. Volkswagen Golf 8 - 1 (Low chances)
  20. Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door - 2 (very low chances)
  21. Mercedes-Benz Daimler Motor Carriage - 3 (including an scape scene, great throwback)
  22. Mercedes-Benz W125 - 4 (Very low chances)
  23. Mercedes-Benz C111? - 5 (6 including its appearance in the opening movie)
  24. BMW 8 Series 2018 - 1 (but it's showcased in the channel section, so it's considerable)
  25. BMW Turbo? - 2 (channel and museum)
  26. BMW Isetta - 2 (also spotted in the opening video)
  27. BMW M1 - 2 (very low chances)
  28. BMW M3 E36 - 2 (low chances)
  29. BMW 2002 Turbo - 1 (low chances)
  30. BMW M5 E60 - 2 (decent chances)

  33. Audi e-tron of some kind - 4
  34. Porsche 718 RS - 2 (channel and musuem appearances)
  35. Porsche 904 Carrera GTS - 2 (same as before)
  36. Porsche 911 901 1st Gen - 3 (also spotted in an GTS channel video)
  37. Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 1973 - 1 (decent chances)
  38. Porsche 911 GT1 1998 - 1
  39. Porsche Panamera - 3 (channel and museum)
  40. Porsche 918 Sypder - 2 (don't know why it hasn't come yet)
  41. Porsche 911 992 - 2
  42. RUF Yellowbird - 2
  43. Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde or GTA m - 2 (sincerely doubt it)
  44. Alfa Romeo Stelvio? - 2
  45. Ferrari SF90 Stradale - 2
  46. Ferrari 812 Superfast - 1 (2 if we include the survey that was done a few years ago)
  47. Ferrari FF - 2 (included in a GTS channel video I guess)
  48. Ferrari 599XX - 2
  49. Ferrari FXX - 1 (seen in GT6)
  50. Ferrari 512 S - 2 (including Pebble Beach award)
  51. Ferrari 166 MM - 3 (including captions)
  52. Fiat or Abarth 124 Spyder - 2 (removed videos in GT7, also included in the survey)
  53. Pagani Zonda C12 (S?) - 1
  54. Pagani Huarya R? - 1 (very low chance)
  55. Lamborghini Huracán STO - 1 (channel section, very low chances)
  56. Lamborghini Aventador SVJ - 2 (very low chances)
  57. Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 - 2 (low chances)
  58. Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 - 3 (channel and musuem, interesting attention to this model)
  59. Bugatti Chiron or Chiron Pur Sport - 4 (very low chances)
  60. Bugatti EB100 (SS?) - 2 (low chances)
  61. Peugeot 9X8? - 1 (channel video)
  62. Peugeot 905 - 1 (scapes scene)
  63. Renault/Alpine A442B - 2 (museum/channel respectively, but it also appeared in the GTS opening video)
  64. Renault Mégane R.S. 2017 - 2
  65. KTM X-BOW GTX or GT2 - 3 (interesting Gr. 3 tool)
  66. KTM X-BOW GT4 - 1 (would be an addition to Gr. 4 lineup)
  67. Toyota GR GT3 Concept - 1 (considering the partnership)
  68. Nissan 2000GT-R C110 - 1 (low chances but still relevant)
  69. Honda CR-X Mugen - 1 (channel)
  70. Honda Civic Type R 2023 - 1 (channel, very low chances)
  71. Mazda Cosmo Sport 110S - 2 (musuem and channel in GTS, decent chances)

  73. Mazda Savanna RX-7 1st Gen - 2
  74. Mazda Autozam AZ-1 - 1 (already featured in other iterations of the game)
  75. Mazda Miata/MX-5 2nd Gen - 3

  78. Subaru WRX 2022 - 1 (channel video)
  79. Mitsubushi Lancer Evolution IX - 1
  80. Mitsubishi i-MiEV - 3 (considering different trims and the fact that appeared in Pikes Peak -might mean nothing as well-)
  81. Suzuki Cappuccino - 1
  82. Suzuki Alto Works - 1 (either first or last gen)
  83. Lexus IS 500 F - 1 (channel video)
  84. Lexus LFA - 6 (almost secure addition to the game)
  85. Lexus IS F - 1
  86. Hyundai i30 (N?) - 2

This content wouldn't come in April completely but over the game's lifespan. Might have some clear omissions though. This predictions might mean nothing to the future content too. I'm really looking forward what GT7 could bring to the table.

EDIT: Both lists were grouped inside spoiler tags to reduce the size of the post. Also added Lamborghini in the predictions list.

From their info blog:
Beyond this there will be a few additional Updates deployed between now and the end of April which will add new cars and course layouts, as well as implementing some other fixes.
Mind you that’s course layouts, not locations. Which for the record is also perfectly fine for me this early in the game’s lifespan. I assume that will mostly be shorter layouts of our existing locations, at least for the real world locations.

Some options they could go for (from the real world locations):

* Le Mans - Bugatti Circuit
* Le Mans - Maison Blanche Circuit
* Nürburgring - Sprint Circuit
* Nürburgring - Müllenbachschleife
* Barcelona - National Circuit
* Barcelona - Club Circuit
* Monza - Junior Course
* Tsukuba - 1000 Course
* Suzuka - West Circuit

The ones in bold I would really love to see added.

From the original locations they can basically do what they want, but I would love to see a Dragon Trail Seaside + Gardens combined layout.

Yeah the Audi Gr.3 as well as the Ferrari 458 Gr.3 are both unstable beasts. No matter how much tweaking I tried doing, they simply want to kick out the back no matter what. I find ways to deal with it to an extent... but in a true competitive race online you'd be a sucker to use one of these rides and hope to stay competitive. I'm on DualSense, wonder how wheel users deal with these cars.

---
As far as what I'd like to see with this upcoming 'major' update:

I want to be able to apply carbon fiber paints to individual parts of the car and still be able to apply another 'special paint' to other parts of it. Right now if I want actual carbon fiber parts on my car but not the entire car, I have to use decals to cover the parts I don't want in CF. It makes for a dull design due to the limitations of decal texture types. Applying a true semi matte metallic/flakes paint along with carbon fiber on other parts would be sweet. Also, painted carbon fiber would be sweet.

Also, multiplayer lobbies need to be improved significantly. Bring them to the level of GTSport at least. They're missing crucial features as simple as changing the course you're racing on after creating the room.

More cars is always welcome in my book. The way I see it, they probably had a few already prepped pre-launch for post launch content so I don't think it's something they need to work much on at this point, at least for the first batch so yes I welcome more cars. The more the merrier.

More events of course, and an improvement of the daily roulette chances. More ways to earn roulette tickets than just 1 per day after finishing the Cafe would also be great.

Road Atlanta
Mercedes 190E Evo II
Tesla Model 3 Performance
Nissan Silvia S14
Mitsubishi Evo 8
BMW M2
Suzuki Cappuccino
Toyota Chaser
Chevrolet Corvette C5 Z06
They're definitely going to have a strong lineup, not sure if Road Atlanta was the best possible pick for the first content update but will be fun

What would be better still is if a European MR layout racecar or LM special was in the lineup.
I would also say some kind of hatch, AWD, for extra realism

Seems like a realistic update to me. Evo 8 is nice but I would've liked to see the Evo 9 MR.

I hope April 1st they acknowledge GT7 as a very elaborate april fools joke and give us GT8 and free ps6 for everybody, inside the metaverse, for some NFT mtx, ofc.
