I don't even remember last time i did rally in gt.

Question i just lost a 10 lap race at daytona GR1 race when i pitted in lap 9 i only needed fuel can you not tell the ai not to change tires and only refuel?

How in the world im my gonna win this race like this?

The cursor should default to a Don't Change button. You have to tell it not to change tires.

I don't get why are they even trying with rally stuff. In my opinion PD should leave it to series like Dirt Rally or WRC. For me it feels like waste of resources on something that some very small % of players like and those players can get better rally experience in earlier mentioned titles.

I don't get rally in this game shouldn't this cars have more grip and not drive like there on ice? :banghead:
Raise the ride height. Low spring rate. Low damping as much rebound damping as you can with out loading up. Low dif setting.

Watch your replay look for tires bouncing off the ground or loosing contact.

I love the jeep in rally and can whin all the single player races I can fit it in. Hope for an ecoboost engine swap for it.

i think the iconic car they are working on is the R390 GT race car, last time it showed up was GT6, and it had been touched up to be Semi-Premium. I dunno just an idea
Could it be the Nike ONE? Just in time for 2022?

A premium R390 would be great, hopefully over time a bunch of semi-premium cars get added. I know that’s probably not how they prioritise or organise their list, but it would be cool to see.

A little unrelated, but I’d like to see the GT-R Black Mask come at some point after the ‘07 model. I’d love to see the 2001 concept and the Proto, too, but of course that’s a lot of work and there are other cars to prioritise at the moment, I think.

That said, the Black Mask probably wouldn’t take too long, since, IIRC, it is the same model as the launch car, just with a cover on the bumpers and tape on the wheels.

Nice effect, I'm sure we'll never see it in GT7 like the Sophy AI.

Im such a dummy yes your right i just missed it for some reason and all this time i was only seeing don't refuel.

On that note i just slap a nitrous on my gr10 hypercar is already unfair you have to start last against such high power race cars. :irked:

Some of the rally cars like the 205 T16 E2 are awesome to drive on tarmac. What we need are tarmac special stages and Hillclimbs like Pikes Peak & Goodwood.

A VHS filter would be pretty neat, same for a PS2 filter. Editors would do great things recreating Best Motoring classic vids.

BTW, GT7 was nominated for the Golden Joysticks Game of the Year.

Imagine if they used such filters to simulate real race footage in different eras, if they wanted to use it for special events it would be understandable:

I used similar filters on AMS2 with the Nvidia Control Panel. A sepia tone and CRT filter does wonders to get that 80's TV look. If there was some way to add retro graphics & fonts it would look fantastic.

Me too, I use the app for AC and you can achieve a very believable image with it(even dirt or rain drops on the camera, etc).

This seems to be a new interview posted today with Kaz. Pretty in-depth and covering many different subjects.

He's been saying this since GT5, yet we're getting drip fed cars, and still missing a ton of 'future proof" cars.

But now it takes 6 months for one. That's how realistic it is, but it's also because the data is created with such precision that you don't have to recreate it in the future. The current model is over-spec even for the latest PlayStation®5 (PS5™). Instead of recreating it every time the software comes out, we assume that we will use the data we have already created in the future.

Well, at least the last time it was true, for GTS models
I think if anyone compares GT5 (premium, of course) and GT7 models the difference would be obvious and no one would like to see those old models in GT7

If anyone thought we were ever going to get something that isn't rubber-banding AI to let the player win, think again.

Not that it's a surprise. It's been like this since GT5 and everyone and their dog disagreeing with it hasn't changed their mindset. At least GT7s AI is semi-competent instead of completely incompetent.

People like you are the reason why microtransactions exist. The Ferrari F40 is my favourite car but I wouldn't spend money on microtransactions to get it. Especially when you can earn several million credits from circuit experiences...
Some of us have the money and don't care to put in the time or just don't have the time, period. Besides, the CE's can be quite frustrating when going for gold, and by the time you get gold it could take you longer than it did just to grind.
If you don't like MTX's, then the PS5 might not be the right console for you. If you don't like them, don't buy them.
I happen to appreciate the fact that if life happens and I can't play for a few days, I'm not going to miss out on a 3 or 4 million car. I'm not going to grind 19 million credits and then miss that 20 million car at the last minute, although I'm not spending $200 out of pocket to get it.

You are correct, Kaz has been saying such things since GT5. But I now think, unless there's some unforeseen 3D tech, full detail car models (ie Photo Mode) have reached a point where there's little point remodelling them. Improved lighting and textures will deliver far bigger improvements in terms of visual realism.

The interview is very interesting and he essentially admits two things:
- their AI is trash and he knows it
- they have no interest in actually making a video game

The creation of a video game to him is basically just the tool for him to research and carry out the digitization of cars and car culture. He couldn't actually give a **** about making a fun video game experience as he does not mention game mechanics even once.

MTXs don't exist because developers respect your time and want to do you a favour...

Techniques change. For example after they modelled cars to be future-proof in GT5 they developed adaptive tessalation which the GT5 models didn't have, rendering them less useful long term than the new models that made use of adaptive tessalaltion.

It's very, very hard to future proof over a meaningful period. The other fly in the ointment is licensing, you can spend ages creating a futureproofed portfolio of cars but when you lose access to an entire brand, say Lotus, all that extra time is wasted. There is a sense to it, but it's not the golden goose it's being portrayed as, as demonstrated by the fact there are still a lot of misisng GT5 and 6 cars in GT7.

That was the main thing that stood out to me, that they don't see themselves as game developers.

This is why I keep saying GT development needs a complete overhaul. Keep the guys at PD doing all the technical stuff but for the love of god, hire a team of people who know how to create good gaming experiences and features out of it.

They have just admitted they don't really care about it. Explains a lot, and why most of the things they come up with are so bizarre.

If they didn't care about making a good game they wouldn't improve the physics.
