The new tuning shop screens look nice. There seem to be more mechanical engine options (crank, hi-lift cam, bore up, high compression pistons), which is nice. It would be great if these had specific effects on the powerband as opposed to just HP+. So a spicy cam could give you more at the top end but you lose at low revs, a long throw crank gives you added displacement but maybe imposes a rev limit.

For suspension upgrades in particular, I hope GT7 has telemetry, tyre temps etc. Otherwise it's hard to enjoy the options to their maximum.

I wonder if they'll implement durability penalties for a highly tuned engine, needing rebuilds more often. It would be nice to nurse an engine through an endurance race and then "7000+ go like hell"

600 aero parts isn't that much. It "sounds" like a big number, but if we do the math, it translates into pretty much 1 body kit per road car. Let's think, if PD counts front bumper, side skirts and rear bumper/diffuser as separate parts, and cars get 1 of each and if there are 100 modifiable road cars, the number quickly raises to 300 parts. And there should be more than 100 modifiable cars, so there's that. And this is without counting the wings yet. So I wouldn't expect more than a couple unique body kits per car. There may be some exceptions, with cars with 3 different front bumpers, and cars with no rear bumper/diffuser mod at all, but overall, I wouldn't expect anything ground breaking.
Most cars would have the same generic parts like Forza with a few unique parts mixed in.

Generic parts are usually wings, as they are pretty much independent of the car shape. Bumpers, sideskirts, diffusers, etc, are not, and usually end up being unique for the car (unless the car has two variants in game that share the same parts). Maybe if we have the option for generic canards and front splitter, we could have those parts for almost every car, but other than that, I don't think so. GT6 didn't have generic body parts apart from wings, I think.
But even if we do get generic parts of some sort, they won't hide the fact that, if we have 100 unique, modifiable, cars, and each has 1 unique front bumper, unique side skirt, and unique rear diffuser, they count for 300 out of those 600 total aero parts. If each of them has one unique wing, the number quickly reaches 400 parts already.

The Supra in the tuning video, can be seen with 1 new side skirt, 1 new rear bumper and 2 unique wings (3rd wing shown is generic). Assuming there's atleast 1 front bumper option, this car alone has 5 out of those 600, and it may have more.

I'd rather keep the hopes down, and then be pleasantly surprised with anything that exceeds my expectations. I'm expecting something similar to GT6, hopefully we get more.

I’m really in love with the Porsche 930 turbo, and I’m talking about stock form… No ABS, no ASM, no TCS, Comfort Hard tires(Pirelli Cinturato P7.) I use Comfort Softs (Continental Extreme Contact Sport) for track and spirited driving. All I need is a air filter upgrade and a sports exhaust. I’m also praying we can make the tires wider, I know i saw a option for it but you never know. I would also like if we can change the headlights to HID lights! It’s a long shot but it would be great if we can upgrade our favorite 90/80’s car headlight lights!

Exactly.

From the pics in trailer, it looks like three rear wing types. Probably shared with all cars that have rear wings enabled. Then, the front spoiler/air dams. Those will most likely be car specific(I think the Mach 1 only had one or two front spoiler and one rear wing option). Some cars don’t need GT wings, like the ‘66 Cobra, GT40 and 550 Spyder.

IF PD are going to count the same three generic GT wings for 100 cars as 300 aero parts, that’s pumping up the numbers. It should just be counted as three available GT wings. As I mentioned, the Mustang Mach 1 rear wing would be a fourth aero part. The rear duck tail spoiler from the Alpine A110 would be a fifth aero part, etc.

Yeah. Had hoped the yellow lights were selectable for road cars in GT Sport. Could place them on Gr.4 cars, but not on their road car equivalent? Weird.
Well, we’ll find out in a video or when we crack open the game. I’m sure we’ll all be posting photos of what‘s available and not available, for each car.

Remember also GT6 had the custom wing option where you could customize the whole wing.hopefully that comes back.

YES, Yes! I think that was the wing end plates and the height? Can’t remember, but I think it was a flat wing and an angle wing option(?). Totally forgot about the extra bits.
Yea it was pretty much the whole wing could be customized, and had different looks for each option as you mentioned.

This has probably been answered elsewhere in this thread but I haven't the time to read through the whole thing... do we know if wide body and race body kits are going to available to all street cars or just selected cars?

Editing this post...

Ive heard the number of 600 parts thrown around in this thread but if you think about what we've seen in trailers and what we've got in past games, its likely going to be 20 unique parts for 30 different cars.

Its exactly what we got in GT5 with racing modifications. And like GT5 I don't expect well integrated cosmetic changes for a larger number of cars at all, and you are setting yourself up to be disappointed if you do

Look like a widebody kit for the FK8

There are no car animations on the GT Auto like GT6..... albeit it's put on the loading screen instead (stock loading animation). Was hoping to see the animations on an actually rendered shop.

I'll try to capture more pics when I get home. There are Bore up, Stroke up, Titanium engine parts, etc in the tuning capture. Lots to upgrade for the engine alone.

This one's pretty interesting. R35 makes sense, widebody now makes sense, roll cage makes sense, ducktail spoiler in an interesting choice but makes sense, diffuser makes sense...but single exhaust? R35s aren't even plumbed for a single exit at all. Now that's interesting to me. We also saw a visually different exhaust on the potentially-swapped Beetle so this also hints at some pretty serious hardware changes, or at least thorough visual changes.

Also, I'm pretty sure this was decided long ago but it's never been clear to me. That track is definitely in Arizona. That background looks exactly like the surroundings of Phoenix. Why there's a massive track and airport right next to the Mexican border I have no idea but that's definitely Arizona.

So the Beattle has a Porsche engine in the video. Wonder how many cars you can swap their engines with. Thinking this is what the extreme tab is and why it hasn’t been shown.

I'm curious to see the extent of the exhaust options as well. Purchasing the part does state that it will change the look (like it did in GT5 and GT6, I think), and the Mustang is shown with two different exhausts in the context of "Car Customization". Considering that the HP changes from 770 to 780 between the two shots, it's likely that the exhaust visual is tied solely to which exhaust is installed (ie: can't be changed visually independent of performance).
