I never thought I'd see the day where the Gran Turismo series pulls a Rockstar and makes grinding for credits a huge chore unless you outright spend your real money for fake money. 🙃
I haven't played GTA online since 2014 but it was nothing like this. Neither were any EA game. The closest thing to this is RDR2 online but at least you have a single player portion where you don't pay real money to play it.

So many game devs are deaf to their customers. This just shows that you should never pre-purchase games any more. Going forward, I won't buy a game until it's released and players have confirmed the game is playable (I'm pointing at you Battlefield 2042 - still garbage after 5 months and no quarterly content releases until summer at the earliest), and not a microtransaction machine with no content for players that wanted a career mode (Gran Turismo 7).

Very disappointing to see them nurfing race payouts when the vast majority of people are frustrated by this. It's like making people take pictures of the tuning sheets instead of allowing them to be shared in game (like the liveries). They just don't care about what players want.

A lot has changed since 2014. It's basically a different game now that forces shark cards in order to progress unless you want to literally grind for days and days doing monotonous jobs in order to afford anything.

time to start social boycott for the game

Man, Kaz always seemed so chill and humble. But this just reeks of pure greed.

There's not even a decent collection of events in the game. Wtf are they expecting people to do to make money in a natural way? The wheel spins are scripted, the events are few, the prices are high, and the rewards are low. It's a borderline gacha game with very little replay value. He should've made it full free-to-play and removed car buying altogether. Just banner rolls and wheel spins in hopes of putting a vehicle together. 🙄

I even thought the previous payouts were okay. Not amazing, but okay. I’ve criticized Microsoft/T10 for being greedy before, but they’ve never updated a game to give you less money. Sony is absolutely going to kill this franchise if this keeps up and its so sad.

They’ve made it even harder to earn credits? I genuinely can’t believe what I’m reading. I’ve been a GT fan since day one but they’ve ruined the franchise with this game. I think I’m done with it. So so disappointed.

What’s the point in playing if you’re doing the same crap over and over again and not getting anywhere? It’s infuriating.

To be fair, what GT game, or most games that involve any kind of currency for that matter, don't have a certain amount of grinding?

People be acting like they didn't do the same race a million times in previous GT's just to get those 20,000,000cr vehicles.

...wondering if this prolonged maintenence has simething to do with people backlash?!
In a perfect world they just forgot to add an extra zero to all those payouts. But this is 2022, new video games and micro transactions. Name a more iconic duo, even if it means pissing off your whole fanbase. 🙃

GT7 gets "better" with every patch
With 1.06 it was only partially worsened (tires, etc.)
And now with 1.07 the already bad work/reward balance is completely destroyed and probably the servers too...

Actually, we should be happy that the servers aren't running, so we don't have to be annoyed ;-)

It's really a pity, as I was pleasantly surprised by the first impression of the GT7 and believed in a "new GT4" with a lot of potential.
But unfortunately I was only blinded for two weeks...

(Sorry guys, but for me now:
PS5 "OFF" & goodbye GT7
SeriesX "ON" & hello Forza)

GT has always had grinding and that was ok to to an extent. This is on a different level though. The payouts are paltry compared to the previews games, and cars and upgrades are much more expensive. Plus there’s a lot less events to do so you’re stuck doing the same stuff even if you want to change it up a bit.

Yes but payouts in previous games were also much more generous. I don't recall gtsport getting an update to lesson the payouts. Yes in the previous games you'd have to grind to afford the 20 million dollar cars but at the same time you really only had to grind for those 20 million dollar cars if you chose to go after those cars. Now you have to grind races just to afford many of the regular cars in this game, we're paying 400k for an R34 in this game now for example. Also in previous games we were given prize cars that we could turn around and sell for lots of money if we chose to do so.

At this point, I'm not even at all surprised this is the route PD has taken. The fact that I paid for that stupid special edition to give this damn company ONE LAST CHANCE to redeem themselves, and they messed it up, as always... Why, oh WHY did I buy into the hype of this game?

I'm officially done with this game AND company. I stopped playing because the so called "campaign" mode was getting repetitive, and the grind was brutal (they pushed it even further to force you into buying credits). NEVER will I be buying another PD product EVER again. It's clear where their priorities are at: To seek shortcuts to make more money. GT is a literal cow for PD/Sony to keep milking money out of. There is no passion put into making the games FUN anymore, but to get more money out of us. Now I really don't regret moving over to the Forza franchise back in 2015.

Dunno i've played every GT Game since it first appeared , this feels more like " Gran Turismo The Real Payment Simulator "

I will never pay real money to progress in any game and it's a horrible shame to see GT go down this route .

I'll still play the game , but this whole cluster**** has really soured how I feel about this franchise

Because this game is short. It doesn’t have many events (about 120 races including championships in the World Circuits section, even GT6 had more races), and it seems like the career mode is incomplete. There are only a handful of championships, there are no races with pitstops, no endurance races, no real specific events (Rain Masters, 4WD cup) or events unique to Gr.2 (Super GT) or Gr.1 (Prototypes) cars. It really feels like this game was rushed, and the amount of bugs this game has further solidifies this sentiment for me.

Ah yes, the R34. I think they did that to reflect how much the car has gone up in value in real life, whether they thought that was a funny idea or something people would enjoy, I don't know... but nobody has to pay that, you can just progress through the game for a couple days and get it rewarded to you in Book 35 or something like that? That's what I did anyway, for all the GTR's.

I could forgive a lot of this if we could at least be allowed to sell cars.

Either be patient, or PAY- rich little entitled wankers and the white- collar set will gladly use their cash to bully us less well off; BUT- they still drive like idiots, and are therefore easy to beat! I am enjoying the greatly improved physics so much, that I do not care about completing it 100%.

The 'earnings nerf' can be blamed on all those bragging about 'having finished the game', obviously the game is too easy with too much credit payout on some races....

The Gran Turismo series of games are supposed to savoured like a fine wine, not rushed like cheap cider.....😝

You have your opinion and I have mine; both are equally valid.🍻
