My guess is that they have put all the manpower to get VR right for this update, meaning nothing else has been finished.
Also no mention of anything else or a hint of something else coming
I guess we will see soon
There are events coming up for the Sport mode championships starting next week with no car/track details yet.
In the past that has usually meant they are using something to be added in an update.

The next GTWS events have a new "Car Settings" detail specified in them that fundamentally was not in the game as an option beforehand - so there's your confirmation the update is at least more than purely VR support.

Seems like a lot of people are downplaying how significant the VR portion of this update is. I understand it's a pricey device and not everyone can afford it, but to brush it off a niche or a gimmick kind of blows my mind. Especially coming from wheel users who have already shown they are willing to drop a significant amount of money to get an experience closer to reality. This update is the most important one yet IMO.

Why are some people so dramatic, this could maybe just be psvr2 update but we wont know for sure until the weekend, new cars are never showed In silhouttes until the weekend before an update, their is no need to panic just yet, if we dont have silhouttes by sunday your worries might be warrented
I don't panic regardless if there is or not any content this month, because even if it doesn't happen this update we should get a big update anyway in the early March for the first anniversary, so I don't bother too much. I'm a patient person, and I can wait some weeks as long as we get a decent amount of content for once. I hope PD has a lot awaiting for us in GT7. Silhouettes (if they'll come next month) should appear on Saturday or Sunday, anyway.

Probably yes, but Grand Valley would be great VR showcase track. Who knows. I hope we won't have to wait for all that too long.
Nurb's layouts are probably the next to be coming (this or next month at the latest) while Grand Valley is likely for April.

Seriously though, I’m just waiting for that 190E silhouette. Whether it’s next week or just before content halts for this game. That’s the only car I care about being added-returning.
For me, it’s the ‘07 GT-R. I love that model year - any year of the GT-R, but especially that one. I really like how it looks.

You're probably right, but maybe not in the way you meant it.

This update (and probably moreso the next one) could in fact be very important to see which way they're going forward with this game, i.e. which improvements/fixes/content additions I as someone who neither cares about VR nor online multiplayer can realistically expect in the future.

You bring up a great point. If a track is being added, it'd make sense for it to be something that would really showcase VR. I'd imagine a track with scenic views and/or high trackside detail.

For sure, a next track could be aesthetically pleasing. Thing is, we have yet to try the current tracks with PSVR2. Maggiore’s bowl, Dragon Trail’s COD, the walls of Tokyo, the undulations of Alsace, the vastness of St Croixe. Driving a Z8 on Route X, while a plane flies overhead.
Plenty of tracks like the banks of BMB and Northern Isle. Maybe the jumps at all the rally courses will be insane. I think we’re in for a treat with what we already have.

The night portion of the 1hr Spa event is already one of the greatest experiences in the game - now imagine that in VR. The utter satisfaction of nailing Eau Rouge as the sky blackens and the rains start coming down...

The first track I'm going to drive in VR2 is the holy grail, the Nordschleife. :D

they’re a gimmick as far as I’m concerned.
Did you play a racing sim in VR? I don't understand how anyone can call VR a gimmick in a racing sim. It's literally the ideal genre for VR along with flight sims.

With the rest of the stuff I can agree with you. There is lots of garbage out there on PCVR barring some of the gems like Alyx and Beat Saber.

But for racing games VR is anything but a gimmick. There's a reason why racing sims are the hybrid genre with the highest VR uptake rate by a large margin.
