As promised here is the footage from a person who met with Kaz and asked about microtransactions. Full video on Youtube will followed after (video is in English with Indonesian subs) :

Was that a cover of mmmBop playing in the background?

Sorry, but whats the general *main* problem with MTs?

Isn't most game still allow progression without actually purchase anything from MTs?

As with most things, there are varying levels of implementation, from the benign to the heinous.

Also, two styles, generally speaking - trinkets or game progression. I don't think anybody is bothered by the trinkets. It's progression enablers that are controversial.

GTS being (potentially) free of them and avoiding any controversy is a really great thing.

Anno, Candy Crush Saga didn't let you go to another episode, if you didn't buy the "ticket".

I don't know about Anno, but for Candy Crush Saga I thought that is count as "DLC" or "Unlock key", but not MTs.

Another example I remember is Destiny paywall (it is harsh indeed but it is set for 3 years lifespan so I can understand). The "paywall" I meant is the First, second expansion and the iron banner. They all DLCs.

The correct MT in Destiny are near the Postmaster. Silvers IIRC.

There was no paywall for Destiny. That is DLC expansions and is in no way stopping you from playing the game.

I see. So most peoples are really bothered with the progression model.

I am the one who actually bought GT6 in-game money and DRIVECLUB booster pack, lol. The driveclub 2XP booster pack indeed affects progression, and I remember purchased them so I could finish the Bikes expansion trophies faster.

Finally, here is the full video of the PSX footage. Skip to 18:54 for GTS gameplay and 53:33 for media presentation. If you just want to skip the presentation go to 1:01:54 for Q&A session until you find the microtransactions question.

85% of the game will be offline...:odd: Did we miss something, did they miss their communication or are we in for some big surprise at Tokyo Game Show?

So the PSX demo was literally the same as the closed beta build? Judging from the looks of it

Campaign mode, Livery Editor, Scape Mode, Arcade Mode with Custom Race, it's offline.

Arcade Mode is hardly a substitute to a full single player campaign and what has been showcased from the various driving chalenges hasn’t looked particularly substantial so far. Kaz latest comment appears antinomic to the generally admitted understanding that GT Sport is mostly an online focused game coupled with a relatively limited series of offline tutorials. The 85/15 cut makes it sound as if the online portion of the game is almost negligible.

I do agree that the Livery editor combined with Scapes will seemingly provide plenty of solo entertainment (from a personal point of view they justify the purchase of the game on their own) but all that visual candy will not necessarily appeal to more hardcore driving game enthusiasts. For them, PD probably needs to show a little more off their hand on that front; starting with an half decent AI…

More hardcore driving game enthusiasts? What are those?

I have about half million kilometers in GT6, 99% of them in multiplayer or practice solely for the purpose of said multiplayer.

And also have pCARS, Assetto from day one, and played all the Forza's from 360...

So, it seems, like there are so many different variations of definition "hardcore" as there are for "casual".

The stubbornness of Poly with the career mode is "surprising", almost suicidal. Instead of reasuring old fans by saying : "there is also a traditional career mode next to the sport mode". They show a build to journalist with this ersatz. I can't believe Kaz when all previews say that the career mode is very limited.

Thank you bud! Cheers!

Sorry but I had to xD

My bad, I probably shouldn’t have used such a generic and abused nomenclature.

Although your mileage appears pretty “hardcore” to me, you make it sound like hot lapping and online are your thing. All good and as it stands GT Sport should also be a relatively nice addition to your eclectic gaming collection.

The AV enthusiast inside me has already preordered the game (figuratively) but since I generally consider online to be a real pain (for those ultimate genuinely great moments you’re seemingly condemned to travel all the Middle-earth) the “racer” inside me still needs to be fully convinced. If - as that PSX Asia Q&A session suggest - the beefy (racing) meat of GT Sport resides in offline then PD as really done a terrible job at advertising it so far. That a Gran Turismo game comes with great visuals is relatively expected I think, but that you no longer need to detune your car in order to get a travesty of a competition or that you can no longer systematically overtake your opponents by sticking to the outside line would have sound like fresh and welcomed news I believe.

I just hope that the Online mode wouldn't be so laggy especially since I live in a place where the majority of games didn't bother adding a server in it. (Sport Mode)

Or lagging when joining Open Lobbies because the host and other players is far away.

That's why I mainly dislike the whole online thing in video games. In a game like GTA Online, i found it to be playable but in a game like Overwatch or GT Sport, I fear the other way around.

One more thing, where should I pre order the physical copy over here? I haven't found anywhere that sells the special editions of the game. That and I don't want to buy the European (Non Local) version for several reasons.

Talking about the MANUFACTURER FAN CUP , what would be the brands available by class ???
Somebody check this already or have an idea at least for the car list at launch ??

Pardon me jumping in but I found this article speaking about the campaign mode:

https://www.finder.com.au/gt-sport-career-mode

But this sentence caught my interest a bit:
Racing Etiquette
"This mode was inactive during my play session, but given that the Sport mode’s matchmaking and player rankings are impacted by your Sportsmanship Rating, I think it is clear what kind of experience you will find here".
Can anyone confirm that the racing etiquette mode was inactive for all who got to try the "semi-finished" built of the game?

Not expecting anything big given it was spotted with only 24 events but still interesting.
