A famous chain of electronic shops here in Italy have started taking preorders for GTSport. I find this pretty surprising since they never had such "service" before and are offering a trade in a game discount.

According to them the game will be 69.99Euros.

Make of this what you wish, but if any of that is true it would get out the whole game, no beta before it and shouldn't be too far in the future. Oh and sadly full fat price for it.

I don't have a problem with it being full price, but it better feel like it's own game. I will be so mad if it releases at full price and plays like a prologue.

How have you come to that conclusion? Retailers have always offered pre-orders for stuff with no solid release date or a date way in the future. Many started taking orders for the Nintendo NX and nobody even knows what that is, let alone when it's out.

As far as I can remember, there was a post, which said: GTS is not a full game, so it will not have the full price. So I do not expect it to be over 50€.

No conclusion. As i said it's a reputable chain of shops that have never ever before taken preorders on games, so i found it "interesting". Oh and they did not take preorders for Nintendo NX if that is what you mean :D

Same as me, honestly. Just reported a very strange fact.

So what is this mysterious chain? Is this the only game they've taken pre-orders on? Have they given you a release date?

Oh it's called Unieuro. Not misterious at all. They only had 3 games on pre-order. Gts and other 2. The farthest one was a couple of months away.

I didn't bother staying there and asking for informatins at the clerks because it was sunday and the show was awfully filled with customers.

PD have one chance only to get this right. They haven't got the PS4 all to themselves, I dare say by the time GTS drops, Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2 will be in full swing. If GTS is not absolutely groundbreaking and running solid then it will fail.
I really hope Kaz delivers.

I agree, and it's so sad that the endless delays have carried over from PS3 to PS4.

I think a lot of GT fans were hoping for better this generation. That now looks a little forlorn.

If GT Sport really is being made from scratch without any assets from GT6 then the game could be considered a tech demo and that the "new" game engine will be developed further for GT7. My theory is that GT7 will be released one year after GT Sport utilising these new assets. I know it sounds crazy for PD to do this but surely they've learn their lesson with the GT6 release...
How I wish this was the case for me, I fired it up a week ago and have to be honest was simply disappointed.

For me PD do have a lot to do with GTS to make it a product that will once again lead the market.
Did you use a controller or a wheel?

I don't expect Assetto Corsa, Project Cars 2 or the lot cutting into GT Sport's sales too badly. Gran Turismo is pretty much a household name for Sony, and GT6 sales were poor probably because most of the casual players moved on to the PS4 before GT6 even came out. Also GT is a lot more approachable compared to more hardcore racing sims, so people will probably lean more towards that aswell, and remember that people are capable of buying more than one game too, so abandonment of the franchise because they bought a different game before GT Sport came out doesn't really count either

Interesting how a system stole all the casuals from a system that has 85 million units sold, without selling 20% as many units during said year of theft.
Mathematically there are still about as many people using PS3s as PS4s, if old sales - new sales means anything.

Yes, but in what way are asseto and pcars 2 groundbreaking

They're groundbreaking compared to PD by simply being on PS4 :)

In physics for example. After you've driven a race car in AC you will never enjoy a race car in GT6 again.

The thing is GT7 needs to be groundbreaking in EVERY aspect, not pcars or AC. PD has to prove a lot and not these 2 small studios. The time when Sony could just lean back and let the name 'Gran Turismo' work for itself is long time over.

Some games are better in physics others in tuning, livery editor etc. The only category where GT is ahead is the mass of cars offered.

That can't be said for everyone. It is true that I enjoy racing in Project Cars more than GT6, but some won't appreciate the harsh learning curb that comes with completely switching to AC or PC.

After the closure of Evo studios, what is the plan of Sony? For months, Uncharted 4 will be everywhere. People won't pay attention to the beta.

Do you think there's ever been a game that's been announced for a certain date*, and that date passes, with no word at all from the developer, as if it never even happened?

I'm honestly struggling to think of another example. There always comes a point, usually well before said date, at which the dev owns up and pushes the official date back, with many humble apologies/further promises.

Was that original trailer just a dream I had?

*let's not get into that again

By using "early", Poly has a BIG window.

25 more days, then we're past ''early''. I honestly wouldn't hold my breath for any new information until E3.

Well, that's what I mean. E3 is definitively not 'early', we don't need any lengthy debates or Japanese linguistic analysis for that.

So if the next info is at E3, they will have effectively made a big announcement and then quietly pretended that it never happened.

I find that deeply strange, from such a high profile company.

It would indeed be very strange, not new for PD though, they've done it in the past with a few things. Although obviously nothing as high profile as a full game beta.

They've still got time though, so as we've done the last 5 months, we can just only continue to wait.

Well guys... after long thought and weighing options, I traded in my PS4 over the weekend to get an Xbox ONE. I'll be picking up Forza 6 tonight :D

I really hope you all get what we've all been waiting for with GT Sport/ GT 7, but my endless waiting has come to an end.

Wouldn't you have been better off with ps4+pcars/assetto corsa/pcars2? And someday (lol) gtsport?

X1 is really behind in this generation.

Ok, I've never tried AC but I did try pCARS on a controller and it was utter s:censored:t, it was a while ago and I remember playing the first race with clios... that FWD car spun out on the STRAIGHT!!! Then I tried M3 e30 and even if you get a hint of oversteer it is impossible to correct it, messed with the settings and controller presets for an hour, nothing helped, sold it for 2/3 of the price.(NOTE: pCARS is probbably x100 times better with a wheel but I don't have it).Got back to GT6 and it was just amazing, first I drove an NA mx5 and it was very easy to drive, well balanced, oversteery but fun, then I tried NC miata and it was a lot more planted and serious than the NA, then I drove an EK civic and it had "pronounced" exit understeer, then I drove an NSX and that thing was like a dart, then I drove a 787b and that thing was very twichy and unstable but menagable... Anyways my point is that it's incredible how good GT6 play's with the controller.(I guess you could say that's groundbreaking by itself, lol but let's not go there)

One more thing, GTS doesn't need to be groundbreaking just because it's bigger name than the rest, it just needs to be better than pCARS and AC. People won't care that GTS isn't groundbreaking as long as it's the best console sim out there.

And will it be the best? We'll just have to wait and see
