I talked about official prices, of course.

And officially, the game costs the same price as a full retail game in the US and UK; and I'm looking around and GT Sport's announced price doesn't seem to be much (if any) cheaper than Doom currently is (as a big name game that just released).

Anyone notice that there is time progression? The mazda's clock seems to tell us so.

Yeah, but that's marketing speak. It's not a prologue, but it's not a full game either. They're very clear that it's somewhere in the middle.

IMO, if it's not a full game then it's a prologue. Anything that is cut down from a full game is in some form a prologue. It may be a very beefy prologue, but I rather suspect they're simply trying to avoid that word. Partially because of the saga after the last prologue, and partially because Kaz already said "no prologues on PS4". He can keep his word if they make a prologue but don't call it that...

They should just grow some balls and say that they're making a smaller game so that they can really deliver a high quality experience. It's fine.
Higher quality.....? I wouldn't be to sure. From Whst I've seen so far it's choppy. The replays are produced horribly. Last gen quality camera angles. Ect. No close nice zoom in out shots of your whip!
Also, no windshield reflections!!!!??? Really GT. I'm not a Forza fan but there ish be getting polished just like project cars. And! Put me in the driver's seat, let me look into. Lean into the Apex's. Maybe with the VR but still. I'm bummed. I see a real let down coming community! Be cautious. Thanks.

That's sharing an opinion, not asking a tough question. The question is just a pretext so that you can say that you are annoyed, and you're not really asking him anything meaningful.

Sorry if this off topic, I just wanted to answer this. The rhythm of this thread is huge now...

Well, that's precisely why I said that the question wouldn't be quite like that. But, yeah, you're right, I am annoyed, basically for two things: my love for GT isn't allowing me to play any other game, GT is the only sim that I can play for hours and hours and not get bored, even with the majority of bad sounds.
And, because of that, I'm kind of like stuck with the series. Seriously, I can't play other games, I don't know exactly why but everything feels...off with other sims. I play them for a couple of days and that's it.

That being said, my "annoyance" starts right there, because of everything that Kazunori has been promising for years. I have a huge amount of respect for him, but sometimes I don't know what to believe.
Is just a matter of trust. Yeah, this is business for the company, but we "maintain" the company in a certain way buying their games, is an ideal way of thinking, but I believe that in a way, we deserve what they promised, not even what we want, but what they promised to deliver. And there is always an excuse. If you want, I can make a proper question but I don't think that is necessary.

Anyway, sorry for the long post everybody.

Cheers

You better speak about this when the game will be out. ;)

Your friend, Mr Facebook!

Fair enough, apologies @super_gt (that just leaves you to back up your "two steps back" physics claim, preferably without shouting).

Here in the UK GT Sport is priced at £49.99 both on Amazon and the Playstation Store - very much the price of a "full" PS4 game. Then again nothing video game related is priced cheaper in the UK so :D

If Gran turismo Sport is being built from the ground up then I hope they add full time progression on every track just like Project Cars. I think though that game spoiled me a little bit though

Out of curiosity guys, how many of you will be buying digital?
Always do. The question for me is which version do I pre-order?

US Digital Edition ($59.99) - Peugeot 908 HDi FAP, Ford Mustang Gr.B Rally Car, Toyota FT-1 Vision GT Gr.3, $500,000 In-Game Credit, Dynamic Theme & an avatar.
UK Digital Edition (£49.99) - Pace Car Pack, in-game credits (unspecified amount?) and Dynamic Theme.
UK Digital Deluxe Edition (£59.99) - Pace Car Pack, Livery Sticker Pack, Japan Theme Pack, America Theme Pack, Europe Theme Pack, Dynamic Theme, Chrome Racing Helmet & 1,000,000 credits.

I'm pretty sure that all the content will be made available at some point but I'm sort of desperate to get myself a Pace Car as soon as possible so I'll more than likely get the UK Digital Deluxe Edition....or the US Digital Edition...maybe. :)

I managed to get behind the wheel to try the game out for myself. As you can imagine, everyone there wanted to try the latest offering from Kazunori Yamauchi. My first drive was a half lap of The Nordschleife in a single brand race. Initial impressions for me, being a PC sim racer, the graphics, the polygon count per car and the scenery are almost photo realistic when you see them in person. However, my first driving impressions were a little underwhelming. I did not feel that I was totally connected to what was happening on the screen, in some of the corners the car would wash-out understeer without warning. For me, there was no real feeling of weight transfer and catching a slide was more thanks to the visual cues rather than a tactile feeling through the steering wheel. I guess I have been a little spoilt when it comes to sim rigs and controls lately, so comparing the experience with how I usually sim race, well, suffice to say it was quite a different experience to racing a PC title such as iRacing or Assetto Corsa

Anyone notice that there is time progression? The mazda's clock seems to tell us so.

I noticed before that shadows in static scenes (like race begin) are moving slowly. So it can be a time progression! Also shadow quality (or lack of) are indicating this too. (opposite to GT5P where lighting were pre-backed but shadow resolution was much higher)
