But what goes? That is the question, 19 isn't a lot. I left out Motegi because for me it was poor in GT6 and needed work. Fuji not much wrong with it but as I say, you've got to cut sonewhere.

That's what is baffling me as well, the new tracks that they showed aren't much different than the tracks in GT6 (Tokyo looks worse). so why 19.

The Tokio Speedway in real life is not a beautyful track. This location is better in GT 'Beta' Sport...In my opinion.

It's why I'm hoping GT7 is only a year removed from Sport. Four years into PS4's lifetime is pushing the limits of what's an acceptable wait for a more traditional GT game, for me. I never expected all of the tracks from GT6 to return, since some of them were in dire need of updating, but 19 tracks feels a little light. I'm more surprised by the number of variations: at the absolute best, we're looking at 8 tracks that have more than one ribbon available. Seven really, since we've already seen Brands Hatch Indy.

So, my guess for the 19 that will be available at launch:
  1. Brands Hatch (GP + Indy)
  2. Nurburgring (Nordschleife + GP + N24)
  3. Willow Springs
  4. Dirt Track (2 layouts is my guess)
  5. Northern Isle
  6. Tokyo Expressway (2 layouts is my guess)
  7. Yas Marina (GP) - Hosted GT Academy. I'd be shocked if it's not included.
  8. Midfield - It was just rebuilt. It'd be a huge waste to drop it so quickly.
  9. Silverstone (GP + Intl + Ntl) - New to GT6, GTA host.
  10. Daytona (Road Course) - Since I'm doubting NASCAR's inclusion, just the road course will do.
  11. Laguna Seca - The longest-running real circuit in GT history.
  12. Circuit de la Sarthe (Full Modern Circuit) - I don't see them skipping this.
  13. Spa Francorchamps - Ditto.
  14. Bathurst - Double ditto.
  15. Suzuka (GP) - Triple ditto.
  16. Grand Valley Speedway (Full + East) - Polyphony's original original track.
  17. Apricot Hill - Another track that was just recently rebuilt.
  18. Autopolis - *cough cough*
  19. Red Bull Ring - Another that's been built for the series recently.
That's a tough list, since it doesn't leave much for them to unveil in the coming months that's genuinely new. It could also be way off, and a whole lot of those could be cut, but they seem pretty core to me, other than maybe Daytona. And that's ignoring that the GT trinity (Grand Valley, Deep Forest, and Trial Mountain) is already chopped up here. :(

Also, didn't PD count reverse layouts as separate ribbons in GT6? If they do, does that mean even the original circuits won't be run in reverse in GT Sport? That'd be a huge shock.

I'm personally hoping for trial mountain, and deep forest raceway. They have never been excluded from a GT game, as far as I'm aware. Trial mountain is my favourite circuit in GT... :indiff:

All I can see is either people complaining that the jump section isn't realistic enough for a FIA licenced game, or people complaining that removing the jump section is ruining the track.

Well the jump section is realistic, considering it's based on a real world location. The grade is that bad, and to be fair I've jumped the section at the Ring with nearly as bad of an effect due to the speed and weight of the car in question. That obviously gets a pass. I mean to me I think it's more of the physics model and less of the track.

God I love Autopolis, I hope so. Easily the best part of NFS Pro Street (lofty praise, I know).

Those seem like solid predictions to make, though I hope they've got more new courses planned, and I hope they realize one off-road course alone won't do. If they want to legitimize that discipline in the game, they need more than just "unnamed dirt track." I'd rather they completely skip rally for GT Sport, but since they've already committed to it, I want to see a real effort.

Really it'd just be disappointing to see them fall back on the same stable of real circuits as just about every other racing game. Don't get me wrong, I love Bathurst, Spa, Suzuka, Brands, and Le Mans, but I could also use a break. Even my favorite tracks in the world get old after I'm forced to drive them in every game.

You think that will stop the complaining? Nothing can stop the complaining.

Seattle Short (as we have seen in the 'glitch' menu in GT Sport) don't have the jump session.

On the topic of the Seattle track, I think it'd be great to have just to witness how much that area has changed since it was last seen in GT. IIRC, one of the little facts associated with the circuit was the ability to witness the old Kingdome & I believe Safeco Field being constructed next door. These days, I think that section isn't around any more meaning the circuit would have to undergo some slight modifying in the last section to what we're used to. But, it'd be neat to witness those changes & compare back then, imo.

But the new Seattle is better or worse?

I don't know to be honest since I'm not from that area. I just know the Kingdome was demolished inbetween GT2 & GT3 and Safeco Field next door opened just a few months before GT2's release. CenturyLink Field now sits where the Kingdome used to be & opened up in 2002 after GT3's released.

So, it appears the in-game location remained as it was in 1997-1998 despite being in the GT series all the way to GT4 & GT PSP. It'd be interesting to see it remodeled 20 years later.

I really hope Gran Turismo Sport is not Gran Turismo 7, and that it is the new model of Gran Turismo. I would be devastated. :indiff:

I love Gran Turismo for having 1000 cars of all different types, hundreds of real and fictitious tracks, the arcade mode, tune shop, wheel shop, car wash, used car dealership, online multiplayer, and having the rich offline simulation mode.

Its not this one is for esports GT 7 however will be different. There's probably two team's working on two gt games at this point :) like I said before have faith in PD

Have driven GT Sports several times this weekend at the 24h of Nürburgring.

The physics feel like an improvement. More suspension movement, bodyroll and stuff.

The tire sqeal is still a nightmare and way over the top. Driving a fast corner with 80km/h doesn't make your tire sqeal..
crashes and bumping into a car sounds exactly like in GT6.
Still a chasing-the-rabbit-type of race but it was more enjoyable due to faster and more challenging AI. But still they are slow enough that you can get from 16 to 3 in one lap of Nurburging (with ramming or even leaning towards another car).
Sounds are improved but still far away from these Amazing sounds of AC or R3E (or the EnduRacer & Blancpain mod for rFactor).

One thing that bugged me was how weird the Nissan GT-R Nismo drove. As if it was a RWD with a weight distribution of 40:60
The non AWD cars I have tested feeled quiet good.

Still no physics like rfactor, AC and R3E. but at least a small step in the right direction.

This weekend showed me that there is no need to buy a PS4 for GT Sports and I'm not really looking forward to it (Only my opinion). I can understand that there are many people that are very excited and want this game. I won't.

Could you please elaborate on the Nismo GTR ? How did you come up with RWD impression and is it 40% front : 60% rear weight that you wrote ? Which tire you drove the car on ?

The GTR Nismo GT3 is a RWD in real life

The road car is not a Nismo
