I bet with the addition of Gran Turismo Sport, Polyphony will announce Gran Turismo 7 at E3. I am crossing my fingers! :)

Omg, imagine that!! Even if GTS it's yet to be completed. Could happen tho, because...

1: Next year it's GT's 20th anniversary (Dec 23th. 1997 - Dec 23th. 2017)
2: PS4 is a "black canvas" according to Kaz, if that's true, then they really worked for 3 years.
3: PD's PS4 development started in 2014, and passed through a lot (FIA partnership, staff hiring, others)
4: Other things "secret-for-public"

Focus, I'm just guessing according to my thoughts, not saying it's a premonition or something. Yes, it's too soon too

PS: I will feel so sorry for the 'Planet's servers if that happens too xD

@McLaren just put it best, no there isn't. You could be right or we could post up various pictures showing the same banner on cars that will probably never see themselves in this game, nor haven't in past games while holding the same banner. Just like when people had a cow about Porsche sponsor being left in the La Sarthe model and thinking "so perhaps we'll see Porsche". The more likely indication is simply just advertising.

So you are just ignore this:

"A “team of programmers from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe” are reportedly on the Isle of Man, studying the famous TT Race circuit which stretches over 37.73 miles across public roads on the island.

The report comes from Bike Sports News magazine, who claims a source from the Isle of Man’s tourism department informed them that Sony are considering the track for inclusion in Gran Turismo 7 on the PlayStation 4."

Nobody is saying the track will be in the game, just considering the possibility due to small pieces of evidences.

It is like the big finale. After showing off Gran Turismo Sport at E3, kazunori says at the very last second, and now we are pleased to announce we are working on Gran Turismo 7, which will come out in late 2017 (possibly). It will commemorate the 20 years of Gran Turismo.

...

Would be funny if it happens. But no, it's not gonna happen. IF GT7 is coming next year, then the announcement might come after GT:S launch. I highly doubt it though, so you can un-cross your fingers now.

Announcing GT7 before the release of GTS would be a really stupid decision, it would just motivate certain people to not buy GTS and wait for GT7 instead.
I also don't see them releasing GT7 in 2017. Maybe I'm wrong with this, but that's just what I think will happen.

Despite the small odds, I'm really hoping for this to happen.

I hate playing racing games online. Some hours ago I was playing project cars online, and it was disgusting. It was so terrible that I'm confused if I was playing pcars or street fighter.

I will miss so much the single player career in GTS. Please PD, bring GT7 as soon as possible.

While it would be unlikely and could kill all fanfare for Gran Turismo Sport, one can dream. :)

For Polyphony to announce 2 Gran Turismos at one event, would be like Trump acting presidential.

There's a 2018 for that, then. I wonder what thing will they do for the 20th anniv??. Vision GTs and the 15th anniversary cars were for the, ehh, 15th anniversary. GT academy started at the 10th anniversary (2008). So, what does Polyphony has for the 2nd decade?? Only they know...

Here is the famous Mark Higgins TT run in 2014, time at 19:15.88 with commentary by the man himself and POV, watch how fast Subaru change direction and corners, almost unreal :D :

Car and track overview, 264 corners, 37.7 miles, driver / team interview and some actions ( track cam, onboard cam ) :

Back in 2014, the banner was still Subaru.

Just to give everyone an idea how big the IOM track is (plus it's an AWESOME picture regardless :D):

There is one IOM floating around made for GPL which has been converted to several games (rFactor and AC), but even that is only an abridged version (30km vs the full 60km of the real one). I think there's a PS2 TT game (not PD's Tourist Trophy) that also has IOM, but I don't know if it's the full version.

If PD managed to pull this off, I will forgive them for everything else

They could attach all those tracks together with interconnecting roads and call it GT Horizon.

Amazing to watch, but it really reinforces to me how terrible it would be as a race track. Huge amounts of it are just flat out but hideously narrow, so for that kind of racing you'd be better served with an oval. And as a time trial track it has a lot of historic significant but I feel like the work required to make it could be put to so much better use. Pretty much any three or four other tracks would give more value to the average player.

Yeah like, eriosuly, half of the tracks depicted in this picture are infinitely more worthy than the Isle of Man TT

And let's be serious here: tracks like Avus, Pikes Peak and many others would be a total blast to play on GT.

As far as time trial tracks go, I think Pikes Peak is pretty incredible. It has the history and the prestige, it's got a reasonably wide range of scenery and it looks nice, it's got all sorts of corners from flat out sweepers to switchback hairpins, and if the game actually lets you fall off the side it's :censored:ing butt clenching to drive fast.

Trying to go flat out up it in Dirt Rally is seriously hard work, but so rewarding. Reaching the top of the mountain in one piece is like walking through the Pearly Gates.

Actually, now that I think about it a lot of it is relatively wide too. You could probably have a reasonably sensible 1v1 race up there if you wanted.

Isle of Man Rally? Like the Special Conditions events of GT4? That would be something - going so fast through such narrow streets will be a huge thrill and be very very scary. Even in a video game.

What I could see is, the track could be broken down to several stages, point to point which will be great for time trial events, rally tarmac special stage, or touge style racing. For racing with many cars, it's too narrow and the high speed section is the only place for slipstream overtake, and very risky. The full layout would most likely enjoyable online for cruising, drift or track day. Imagine rally cars or 300-400HP road cars doing track days and drift/cruise sessions there :D

As opposed to them having say, Watkins Glen, Circuit of the Americas, Interlagos and Macau?

It's a nice thought, but I stick with my impression that most people will get more enjoyment out of that development time being spent elsewhere. It's such a massive undertaking that has such limited applications that I really can't see it being nearly attractive enough.

Pikes Peak is marginal, which is why we haven't seen it since GT2. Isle of Man would in all likelihood be one of those tracks that most players drive once or twice and then never again. I understand that for the right people it would be incredible, but I don't think that it's flexible enough to justify the inclusion over assets that can appeal to everyone.
