I'm kinda doubting E3 will show any new GTS related content. I mean the London & Nurburgring events were all PD had up their sleeve no?

Then again, there is the element of surprise.

GT6 was shown at E3 in 2013 even though the announcement event at Silverstone was less than a month prior, I wouldn't be surprised GTS was similarly shown at E3 soon afterwards.

I believe they will show a much more refined build of GTS at E3. Perhaps night racing, rain and new cars. Sound that will impress positively.

Speaking of sound - there was Evora footage coming with supposedly "taste of what new sound system can do" (or something like that). Being so close to E3 it could mean we will see it there.

...I'm betting that GT:S will have a noticeable presence in E3. I'll be super shocked if it doesn't.

What with PSVR just around the corner, Sony will no doubt give the platform a big marketing push; and with GT:S being a big name VR title, I just can't see the two not being shown side by side during the show. Maybe even during the Sony conference. If not, playable build on the show floor.

Aah the game industry nowadays.

- Release new console that's barely up to date tech wise to keep costs low and profits high.
- Realize console can't keep up anymore after 3 years
- Release new console disguised as an update to not piss off gamers
- Rinse and repeat.

They could as well have called it PS5 right? Or doesn't the upgrade to the processing power and the GPU warrant saying that? My bet is that if they can pull this off, 3 years after "Neo" PS5 will arrive and then you'll get an upgrade of that one too.

Someone could make the case of Neo being actually cheaper, or at least as much as costly, to develop than a slim PS4 at this point because Moore's Law or something. And seeing how succesful the PS4 is marketwise, would be a very stupid choice not to make it. I'm not saying that I don't see this deviousness on all of this (I enjoy consoles exactly because I didn't need to upgrade so shortly), but it's nice to consider other possibilities.

And part of me want this Neo thing to backfire hideously.

Yeah, you're right about the deviousness of it all. I think it will serve as an experiment now for both Sony and MS to see if average gamers tag along with it, and they can keep on selling millions of units anyway. If they get away with it, it will be quite the goldmine as they don't have to do much R&D anymore to prepare a future proof piece of hardware, and they can move consoles in half the time frame that they could before.

Good chance they will sadly, because people still have this barrier towards moving to PC's, as they think they are more difficult to understand and manage from a gaming perspective (which isn't true IMO). It's just easier to pay the fee and have Sony and MS decide the hardware for you.

Let's hope for something good

This varies wildly. Here, in Brazil (but in Latin America in general, actually), building a PC gamer is hugely, absurdly expensive and consoles, even overpriced as well, have a far better value proposition, as usual. Most of the people that I know would jump into PCs, if the costs were more acceptable. The ones who wouldn't are the casuals, but they are not the kind of PC public anyways.

But, as you said, both Microsoft and Sony will probably sell tons of it and this will pretty much redefine console gaming to something weird: if they overdrive the cicles too much, they'll will dilute the consumer base because not only people won't buy a new machine every two years, but the developing costs and time for games won't sync anymore with the hardware industry. So, yeah, I hope that it backfires because I'm happy with the PS4 for more three to four years before a new console.

Now, to get back on topic, imagine Sony cranking a new PlayStation every 2,5 to 3 years and Poliphony Digital taking 5 to release a game...:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Yeah, that's how Rocket League does it.

Everyone is going to have to navigate through the punters and the aliens to get their ratings done.

Exactly, and I'm sure GT will be turned into the wall flower it always is and thus PD will have their own rating system of drivers, and totally uninspired by say Iracing. So who knows how it will work, you could very well be in a higher ranked play and just like RL or LOL have a troll that goes in to ruin it for others. An actual safety rating would kill that immediately the first time it happens, and you'd be at the bottom of the barrel ruining races with other trolls.

According to the latest interview with Kaz in the news section, it seems "50% complete" was a reference to what he wants to see on the PS4 in general. So does that mean we need double the expectations for GT7?

I am still waiting for anyone on here to show where he ever said 50% complete. It seems to me it's a complete invention. He said quality, not complete.

I know that will not be 100% at the launch, but i will be happy with 85%...(with the day one patch, of course)

I remember one of the news articles not too long ago saying that GTPlanet will have a presence at E3, so I guess it's pretty safe to assume @Jordan will be there.

Remember last year's PSX, until we see Jordan photographed next to Kaz nothing is certain.

One thing which should be implemented by PD are online qualifying events, a bit like GT Academy - one car, one track. If you qualify within a certain time bracket, you will race other drivers who have qualified in the same time bracket when it comes to the online championships. Let's just say you have 5 laps available to you - from those five laps, an average time is calculated and from that calculation, you are placed in a league or a class. After each season, this process would be repeated. However, if you qualify mid-way through a season, you still have a chance to compete.

You think that after the initial stage they would start releasing "Neo" only games?
Nintendo does it with the New 3DS (some games aren't compatible with the original 3DS) so I wouldn't be surprised if Sony did the same. Not at launch though, maybe in a few years.

This has most probably been said a million times already, but I honestly believe PD should just completely copy the way iRacing handles online. The safety rating, the driver rating, the driver splits and the way qualifying is handled.
