As a photographer I can easily say they won't be because you can't move the camera around in the scape. It's essentially on a fixed axis basically meaning all we can do is move the camera up and down or move the lens left and right but can't actually move the cameras position. This'll lead to photos that basically look like they were positioned by someone who just wanted to quickly snap a photo of a car on the street or, in this case, very basic photos used in press releases for cars. No doubt the scapes are beautiful but without the creative freedom and variety I don't see it clicking well with the photo community present in GT
It appears to me the biggest lock is in your own mindset here. More so since we only got limited informations on the feature and no hands on experience in the first place. Photography (be it on location) is all about overcoming potential (and more often than not likely) shortcomings and maximizing what is realistically available. That’s what creativity stands for in the first place, IMHO. No, we will not get full freedom of movement out of the Scapes mechanism; but sure there is seemingly a substantial tool on offering here. The ability to select aspect ratio, rotate, pan and tilt already opens a handful of options. It wouldn’t come as surprise if some of the playgrounds where 360° locations either. From the very few ones (out of the 1000+) that have been teased so far, you can tell some places will offer pseudo multiplane camera effects too, with some assets (other than cars) being 3D modeled into the scenery. Last but not least, there is the mouthwatering hint that one could add light sources into the builds... sure that could end up being a photographer’s hobby, isn’t it?
