This is Flugplatz where Jann Mardenborough flipped his GT-R.The front end lift is coming from the air flow.
What is the point of your post? I'm sure 99% of the people here know the track very well. Maybe you don't mention his name with a bad intention but you shouldn't talk about it IMO.

I would like your opinion on something.

So GT Sport will have a rally spec Mustang and a Group 3 Mustang. Do you think it's possible that we can modify stock cars enough to be able to do something like the works conversion from NFS Shift? For those of you who don't know what that is, it's basically taking your regular car and transforming it into a full on race car.

Just a thought :)

Unlikely. There probably isn't going to be much customisation, if any, given the focus of the game.

I'm holding out a tiny bit of hope for "stock" and "class spec BoP" versions, but indeed it looks like only balanced class-aligned cars right now.

I doubt it, the Gr. cars are basically PD doing the works conversions themselves to boost the initial car count.

Wanna see how the penalties system will work in situations where a player doesn't let the faster driver through.
Not sure what this means. You mean a player should let someone go by because they are faster and, if not, they should be penalized?

I'd say he's referring to blue flags.

We will shout on radio like Vettel: "Blue flag, blue flag !"

:biggrinsvg:

Seriously : https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turis...hmaking-system-sportsmanship-points-detailed/

Sportsmanship Points will be calculated on additional metrics which can either increase or decrease your overall rating:

Factors For Increase

---

Factors For Decrease

  • Driving off-track
  • Wall contact
  • Entering restricted zones
  • Ignoring flags
  • Ignoring speed limits
  • Pushing other cars off the track
  • Collisions with other cars

What flags? We don't know yet.

I wonder if there will be any special events like the Ayrton Senna races from GT6.

Not just that but will there be any special features and modes in GTSport or they were just like, "nah mate, you're gonna play the eSports alright?"

Very unlikely, in my opinion anyway.

Very hard to enforce with an automated system. F1 is one of the few systems where a blue flag actually carries penalties anyway. In most series it's purely informational and the lapping driver is expected to find their own way past. It's considered polite for the lapped driver not to fight it, but they're under no obligation.

That's how iRacing treats it, if you're coming up on a car a lap down it's your job to get past cleanly just like any other car. Mostly people will just let you go, because there's no point wasting time and risking incidents fighting when there isn't even a position at stake. I suspect GTS will do the same.

Unless the car blocking your way have some business with you other than racing :3 Imma let the faster driver past too if he lapped me. No point wasting tyre and concentration for something that already doesn't matter. :P

I think not be able to modify the stock car. Gr.B rally car and Gr.3 car is the same Mustang. But they will not be able to make us have to modify.

Was playing Rocket League again tonight and realised how similar it is in concept to what GTS is trying to do. That's gonna sound nuts so let me explain.

The gameplay of Rocket League is incredibly simple and limited. It's a soccer field, you have a rocket car, you try and score goals. There's a lot of room for nuance and skill with the controls, but they're not exactly complicated. The cars look different but they're basically the same. There's a handful different fields not counting the labs ones.

But it's so polished and the gameplay is so refined that you can spend hours trying to get better. The feeling I get from dribbling the ball over someone, bouncing it off the wall and boosting to smash it into the goal is incredible. Variety be damned, the gameplay is so engaging that it just doesn't matter.

In addition, there are casual modes, ranked modes, and fun modes (yay, basketball!). There's a single player, and some pretty good training modes. Collecting hats and aerials is a cute addition for the pack rats.

I feel like this could all be done with a racing game instead of soccer cars. The concept of a racing game is very simple. The controls are few with a lot of room for skill and nuance. With classes a lot of the cars are basically interchangeable. And I know when you nail a hot lap at a key time or pull an amazing overtake it's that same feeling of exhilaration.

Can Polyphony pull off an experience that gives the same rewarding feelings as Rocket League and be as simple and addictive to play?

For what it's worth, I think Rocket League nails the 7 to 77 gameplay. Anyone can play, but only the best can be great. The fun is trying to get there, and the odd moment when you get totally lucky and pull an amazing move out of your backside. :P
I didn't really get in to Rocket League - I played it a few times then I pretty much forgot about the game... That's not so say Rocket League is a good game, because it is. I can see why people get addicted to it, I just wasn't one of them. Still, I agree with what you are saying @Imari, the game shouldn't be over-complicated. It should be simplistic and fun, yet rewarding at the same time.

You mean the stupid and WRONG use of blue flags in F1 and DTM that are a compulsory get out of the way flag?

Proper blue flags are to warn you a faster car is coming. Not to force you to move over.

PCars has a 'fast car approaching' thing, but no penalties, right?
