Seems like the higher the revs, the more noticeable the shifts. Probably because of the drop in rpm. But the double clutch is nearly instant irl. Very close to the real AMG GT imo.

My 2 cents on the AI in the video... The AMG is a lot faster than (most of) those cars it's racing. I'm surprised that the Charger is even hanging with it. The Jaguar F-type is probably more of a match, but that is near 4000lbs. So yeah it's not lighting the world on fire, but it looks like a slight step up from gt6 on a good day.

OK, I've seen the latest direct capture footage and I must say that the Merc sounds excellent. It doesn't sound overly compressed or processed for that matter; actually sounds like a proper V8 - something that PD has struggled with for years. Clearly, there is change in the air and yet again, my enthusiasm for this game has gone back up. Honestly, everything I see from this game pleases me.

That is the thing I love about Assetto Corsa, the growls, the clunks and backfires on and off throttle. It also doesn't suffer from extreme tyre screeching.

The thing is, not every car has that. Specially backfires.
I still want to see a single stock AMG GT S, in normal conditions, backfiring. Hell, I still wonder where they got those backfiring road cars in FH3... pretty much anything backfires there. The exaggeration is mind blowing in this. Next DLC, a Prius will end up backfiring too, or even a Tesla Model S.
People don't care for realistic I see, specially when games just throw at them stock GT-Rs, but with the sound of aftermarket exhausts...

The point is, exaggeration is not the correct route. We shouldn't expect a stock, civilized road car to sound like non-restricted fully stripped down race car.

Only the AMG sounds legit, the rest still sounds like crap...

The One-77 has the right sound. The Bugatti is the thoughest one to judge since there is no real car to compare with (it's probably just a louder version of the noise the Chiron makes). The Charger sounds quite good, now it sounds like a muscle car.

And keep in mind that it's not direct feed, so it doesn't make true justice to the sound in person.

Transmission whine on a AMG GT S? It's barely noticeable in the real car, if it is noticeable at all... It's not a race car, keep that in mind.

And don't forget that, atleast in this case, the car has a double clutch, so there won't be much going on between gear changes, since they are virtualy instantaneous.

Meant for the race cars, gear changes still don't sound natural.

From what I remember, didn't someone here ask about all cars being premium in a private message to PD staff and the reply was a witty "they're all super premium"?

I'm just worried that some are taking this terminology seriously. Perhaps I am mistaken.

PD themselves use the term super premium. It's just the way they call the premium cars that use tessellation. And yes, all the cars in GT sport are built to that quality level.

Nope, I dont have the photo, but according to that message if i remember: there wont be standars, but there will be premiums and super premiums. In other words, premium from ps3 and premium from ps4.

Umm. I remember something different. I hope someone post the picture (i think was posted in this thread)

(Back on page 49, wow!)

I didn't change what I said. It is ahead at the exit of the corner and then it gives up, at the exit.
I presume this was aimed at me, so, ummm, yes you did. "Promptly gave up on the following straight" is not the same as "promptly gave up on the exit" unless I'm confusing corner exits and straights.

Look, if that behaviour makes you excited to race the AI then good for you, it doesn't for me. Having online is no excuse, basically all games have had online for years but they still have better AI than that.
It doesn't particularly excite me either but it's a (very)small step in the right direction and I wasn't the one asking to see the AI fighting. I also don't think having online is an excuse for bad AI either and yes, pretty much all games do have an online aspect, but in my experience, most racing games on PS4 are still not up to GT6 standards of lobbies yet (I'm looking especially hard at you AC) even with the disconnects and lag issues. Could the AI be better, of course it could in every game, but online is where I think this game will shine. Hopefully PD's matching system works well and we all get to race like minded racers of a similar pace when we want to, have private lobbies for race series, and public lobbies for more casual racing (the last two are pretty much a certainty, and for the matching system, we will have to wait and see).

Yes nearly uncontested.

Yes, I acknowledged that the divebomb was legitimate, thank you.

It's proof of what?
Proof of what you ask? Proof of the AI fighting which was the point in the first place, and you agreed twice.

I put other words in that post for a reason. If you had actually read any of them you would have known what I was "agreeing" to.

But the thing is that this game is almost online only. Sure a good AI is welcome, but it is really necesary when the central part of the game is the online, and the only parts you are going to be able to "enjoy" the AI is in arcade mode and a few career events?

What's the point of having a single player mode in SFV? We saw how well that went for Capcom.

One makes a game with an established history of single player content into an online only game at their peril.
