It's not the capturing or creating of the color that was the problem but displaying it on the TV to reflect the real thing.

Which is what they said - that even if it was there you couldn't see it and now with HDR you can.

Oh, I assumed that they were making a fuss because of some technological achievement that they thought that they'd made. So actually, TV manufacturers just made better TVs.

Is it just me, or is your marketing game pretty weak if you're having to brag about other hardware that's available on the market? I get that they want to sell Sony TVs while they're there, but can't the TV marketing department do that? Tell us relevant things about the game!

So, now that 8k is being shown, are PD going to try and upscale GT again?

Not sure why PD would try 8K. Even 4K is still pretty new. Perhaps some AA trickery such as the present checkerboarding AA the PS4 Pro uses but I highly doubt that.

Just asking. When Kaz sees something to ramp up graphics, he gets that "fizz".

We won't see 8K anytime soon in this console generation, or in the mid-generation leap Project Scorpio or PS4 Pro. At the moment we ought to be focusing on 4K.

Even scorpio or 4pro, we wont see. For Hardware it need new hdmi standard and co

How much footage would they show?
'''The Sony booth at CES will feature a display corner highlighting the spread of devices capable of 4K HDR playback. At this corner, visitors can catch a glimpse of visuals from “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” “Gran Turismo Sport,” and “Horizon Zero Dawn,” 4K HDR compatible PlayStation®4 (PS4™) games, played on BRAVIA. Considering at CES this year the HDMI Forum announced HDMI 2.1 which supports 8K. But of course it's nowhere near into fruition, so it is more like what is to come in the distant-but-no-so-far-off future.

No it can't. GT Sport can't be at CES because it is not the right place to have presentation or annoucement on video game industry
And ? You are 10 years old ?
I m still right cause there re any news about games
And... about GTS ? where is your news ? you can search, oh CES is not over

Sure, 8k is coming soon, Tokyo olympic 2020 is targetting to have 8K broadcast, and some content are already 8k in Japan

And their only merit is to apply a look-up table at the output of their renderer that no currently available HDR display will exhibit accurately…

Nope. Just answered my query this past Monday. 👍 May not announce, but they'll be there.

The game will, no guarantee PD will. It sounds like just yet another event to show off the graphics and little else.

From January 13th (Fri) to 15th (Sunday), you can enjoy PS4® Pro and PS VR tests at "Gran Turismo" booth at "Tokyo Auto Salon 2017"!

At "Gran Turismo" booth, 4K & HDR trial using PS4® Pro which becomes first public in Japan, trial at PS VR was carried out. There are also other single-play trials and fighting play trials, so you can enjoy the various charms of "Gran Turismo SPORT". On this occasion, please visit "Tokyo Auto Salon 2017" and experience this work at "Gran Turismo" booth.

Most likely, I'd expect the S-FR(if it's not in the Gazoo Racing display) and possibly a Super GT car near. If not, I'd go with a couple VGT cars flanking the GTS pods.

Nope. Just right.

I see you still are having some issues with this. Someone said this:
What's the closest gaming convention that could feature GTS? There has to be something that makes sense between now and E3.
Then someone else answered:
^ I'm guessing CES would be good from now until E3.
But then you said quite a few things like this:
Ces is for Electronic products, it remain only Auto show before e3
Games are not product but software, if you know the CES event, it s not the right place to have presentation or annoucement on video game industry, except accessories but it s more focusing on Pc, tv, photo, audio etc
I mean, one would think you saying that CES won't have a game because CES isn't a place to even show off videogames would make the fact that that very videogame is being shown off at CES a contradiction; but I guess that can't compete with your industry buzzwords.

And... about GTS ? where is your news ? you can search, oh CES is not over
And still you haven't realized that no one said anything about news or announcements. That was the goalposts you kept constructing to claim why it still wouldn't count if GT Sport was at CES (I think probably because you didn't actually know until then what tended to be featured at CES), but that was an argument in your own mind rather than one written by anyone else.
The bar to be cleared was nothing more than "where might we see GT Sport before E3". CES was an answer brought up that you dismissed as not being appropriate as a venue, even just for a presentation. CES is a place that GT Sport is currently being featured, just like previous GT games have in the past, to present VR. The end.

Once again, read what was actually said before attempting reeducation.

I may be mistaken, but I can't recall seeing "match" or 'battle" play before (which I'm assuming is 2 player Arcade racing).

I probably should have clarified but that was a (poor) google translation of the Japanese, so 'fighting play' I'd assume is just a poor literal translation of 'racing against AI' and 'single play trial' is time trial.

Ah, interesting.
Yes, that's certainly another way to interpret what's being said. 👍

Either way, they seem to be trying to highlight that there will be "various charms" being shown at the Auto show.
Or to my way of thinking, 2 different game modes.
http://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/news/00_3646105.html

So if that's the case, should it be 2 player Arcade or Time Trial, I think I'm right in saying that we haven't seen either of those two game modes in action yet.
Saying that, there's perhaps not a great deal of new things to be seen from either of them anyway.

If Sony PS Plus GTS at some stage though... Possible loophole!
Or Kaz ends up calling it GT7.
I'll allow your Avatar for a month :P

an interesting take on Uncharted 4's numbers, can TLOU part 2 overtake GT3 as the best selling PS4 exclusive of all time?
What about afterwards? Wish I did research before taking bet on now instead of shortly afterwards, was shocked to see it being bundled like Wii Sports in NA market and sales starting to show that.

Don't see TLOU Part 2 doing as well as Uncharted 4 in sales, if they keep bundling UC4 till end of generation then it could be best selling game on PlayStation.
