Idk what to do. I am tempted to try this race, but I am worried I am racing for last place (gr3 at GV Hwy 1 is my weakest combo probs ever) 😅😅 I guess I do a bit of practice and check my quali time and then decide. Hopefully brake bias is adjustable.

I'm guessing just a tiny bit of corporate nudging there (Toyota owning Fuji Heavy Industries which means they own Subaru by Proxy and being one of the three owners of Mazda Motor Corporation).
Though I am still wondering why Lexus isn't invited, considering it's also a Toyota brand...

Maybe because it looks old compared to the others or doesn’t have that low coupe look, like the other three cars.
Is the FT-1 a choice?

Granted this at best a random guess but when you think about it, The GR.3 offerings for this race are all pretty much the classic GT car shape whereas the RC F sorta isn't.

It is worth noting that Toyota actually already does something with Subaru in real life Via this series (Which given the underpinnings of the car and its co-development, might as well) so maybe this in-game competition is an extension of that and taking advantage of a fellow Manufacturer Series partner they already have some association with, they decided to include Mazda in on the deal.

Maybe in the future depending on what ever new sleek entry Lexus uses for its GT3 entry, they then join in.

Yes, brake adjustment is enabled.

The track is not my best either in these machines but I'm still hoping to give it a go. I move house on Monday so not sure whether the PS5 and TV will still be unpacked on Sunday.

Ok well that makes it more viable then. I guess I could give it one try and see what happens. I've been having a good run in recent GTWS races, so a slight DR drop won't hurt.

If nothing else GVS is such a good track to run laps around. Continues to become my favourite version of Grand Valley to be honest. And so far in my limited practice, consistency has been the the name of the game, especially in my preferred choice of the RX-V.

Yet to test tyre wear and race strategy, but that'll be next. Will probably check @Mistah_MCA's nation's guide for that, since the nations round uses the same settings.

Due to my new account i haven't even completed the menu books. So there isn't even the Grand Valley circuit on the map for me to practice. :nervous:

Just a little bump on this thread for today's race.

Good luck, everyone! :gtpflag:

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's strategy. Mine will depend on starting grid placement, I expect I should qualify top 5 in my GT3 lobby, so probably starting on RS and pit as needed for the required tire change to RM.

Guys there's no information online about how this works - is it a single race today? How many laps? It says 50 minutes which seems like a long time

Well that was awful.

Started 6th.

Got dive bombed on the sharp hairpin, into last with a 1.5sec penalty wtf.

Then lap 3 I had managed to somehow get back up to 12 and got dive bombed again by a German driver on the same hairpin, back into last.

After pitting at end of lap 8 to switch to meds I came out right with the German again, he was in a more cautious mode and I got past after a few door scrapes then I made a mistake on lap 11 and gave up on lap 12 and quit.

I was going to quit on lap 2 but thought lets give it a try, what a waste of time.

Going to run again later but starting on mediums, think that will be a better strategy, the front left soft was completely dead half way through lap 8.

Was running the Supra with +3 rear brake balance.

Started at 8th place on soft, but got dive bombed there as well, no penalty though, changed to medium in lap 7 or 8 on the Supra, ended up on 12th place, not sure if I want to go back...

If I finished the race then, I probably wouldn't go back.

I was in 13th on lap 12 (which was last place as others dropped out) and knew I couldn't do anymore in the last few laps to make a difference, this is the first of the season that I have quit.

That hairpin is terrible, I even took a narrow line into it to avoid being hit from the German but he swerved over to hit me. I hadn't had any battles with them to cause any revenge dive either.

I'm only going again as I don't have a position to lose.

Maybe some cleaner races later on to try again?

Thank you. I've never done one before but it seems like a **** show with people crashing into one another.

For qualifying, just hang back behind the group, you will have a few track to set a good time when they are ahead crashing into one another

P3 in top GT2 split for me this morning. Slightly disappointing result, was definitely P2 on the table.

Qualifying was poor, got stuck behind a much slower driver which borked both my laps ( and a few others behind as well) ended up P6.

Went with the alternate strategy in the race, starting on mediums managed to hold station for most of the first stint dropping to P7 before the soft runners came in.

End of lap 8, stuck the softs on and managed to work my way up to 4th quite quickly, including setting fastest lap. Lost some time out of the hairpin trying to take P3, hit the barrier after being deep and then squeezed, cost me a second or two, which ultimately cost me a shot at second, since everyone else was seemingly going Soft medium.

BB set to -5 in the supra to get as much life out of the fronts as possible

GT2- B , it went better than i expected with Mazda Vision

Qualified - 9th with 1.48.647 eh i could do a better lap but without training its fine
Race - started with softs from the start i managed to get into 7th after some laps some drivers crashed and ragequit like 3 or 4 of them but for me they been free positions so that way i got into P5 , went to the pits after 8th lap as my front left was getting slow and after that not much really happened just got myself into P4 where i ended - very good race and i was suprised as there wasnt as much dirty driving 😎

I just finished my first ever race in this series and finished in 1st position, but it shows that I have 0 points. Are the points given to me at a later date?

I feel clueless because I only do Time Trials 😂

How many laps are you getting on the RS tires in the Supra?
I switched over to complete 6 laps at the end, could easily have gotten one more. The front end wears quickly, you can adjust brake balance and your entry angles to help

Tried again, with the RX-Vision this time, started 5th with soft, changed to medium in lap 8, hit a driver quite hard in the first corner in lap 12, waited for him so he could get his place back, got 2 sec penalty for it, that's okay, my bad, I got a 3 sec penalty for crossing pit stop line as well when changing tires, but I finished number 7, so happy about that, no need to go back this time.

@787Bee Yes, the points will update either late today or tomorrow.

@Talon16 7 or 8 laps (GT3 15 laps).

What is best tyre strat for 30 laps race? Last time I drove here I took extra pit stop compared to most others. I'm notoriously not gentle on tyres but maybe it is ok to drive on complete reds 🤷.

I know much earlier if your tyre was all red you would go straight at the next corner, you were doomed. Now, it seems it's perfectly manageable.

There is huge advantage in practice on softs so IDK if I wanna struggle 20+ laps on mediums just to take that one less stop.

I posted earlier in here that for me the best strategy was in the RX-Vision because its better on tires and fuel, I needed to also set brake bias all the way to the rear

  • Start on RM and go 10 laps
  • pit and switch to RS and no fuel, go another 10 laps
  • pit for fresh RS and add enough fuel to finish last 10 laps

If you're better with fuel and tire saving than I am I suppose some would be able to make this work for the Supra.

Started 2nd, great start stayed 1sec behind leader until end of lap 7 when I pitted.

Started with softs same as last time to break from the pack.

Made and awful mistake on lap 9 hitting the wall in the esses.

Down to 8th place.

Stayed until lap 12 and then....

Got dive bombed again at the hairpin!!!

Not happy at all, quit again as nothing else I could do to get anywhere decent finish.

One more attempt then I'm giving up on this one.
