How you guys did to do a no stop for this one?? My tires were off at lap 7 on controller... BTW I finished last this, i'm ashamed, but got rammed off the track like 5 times for no reason. The penalty system is ****
And for the participation I will get the Corolla right?

Rearward brake balance, lift and coast to reduce heavy braking.

First attempt went terribly. Qualified P5 and managed up to 3rd or 4th before the back straight then was pushed into the gravel by a uncharacteristically toxic Canadian, down to last. Him and I had a few more run ins throughout the race but I managed 14th.

Second attempt coming up ... I'm sure he'll be in this lobby, too. But hopefully I can just be faster than him again.

Whew, this was a tough round, at least I got the bare minimum amount of points I had as a target. Qualified P10 with a 1.32.2 (I used -1 brake bias), pretty decent effort compared to my best practice lap.

The race then, lots of fighting on the first stint, I think I pit in from P10 or P11 at the end of lap 12. Then a quiet second stint, I came out ahead of a Polish driver and Norwegian driver who were just ahead of me, up to P9. Held a 1,5 sec gap or so before I went wide into T1 on lap 18 or 19. Then I had to fight to stay ahead of the Polish driver, but had to let them go at the end of lap 23, my front left tire was fully dead, down to P10.

To make matters worse on lap 24 I picked up a 1 sec penalty and another Polish driver was only 2,2 sec behind me when I served my penalty on the back straight on lap 25. After that the other Polish driver got within 5 tenths into the braking zone and for some reason did a stupid divebomb, hit me into the side and then we went side by side into the chicane, but I decided to not give them any space on the exit as revenge. And so I stayed in P10 for a score of 129 points.

Mostly hard but fair racing tonight, I just could not take good enough care of my tires sadly, but an even bigger issue was the lack of pace, I am not good at Nurb GP or Sprint layout. Still I did what I could and now I have a decent full championship score, 640 is the score with best 4 rounds combined. I am hopefully able to score 160-170 pts in the final round, because I won't do round 6, I really despise that Grand Valley Hwy 1 and gr3 combo 🫣 Probably my worst combo in the game 😅😅

Daily B has me knocking on the door of A rank (again) and I am wearing #1 in the GT2 lobby. Next to me is @afc5150! And yet, the lobby was worth just 79 for a win. Didn't get much practice in for this one and I have only average pace, started at Q8.

After first lap madness, I settle in by myself at P8 and make my way to P5 by lap 11 with some boring but clean laps. Then suddenly, I am in a pack of five cars, all with shot tires and I come out the back, P10 with no time to recover on the final lap. No outright dirty driving, just scrappy with everyone on (really) bad tires. (I'm terrible with tires)

I've had some good results in gazoo, so this 50-something points is a throwaway. Lots of things to do today, not sure if I can make another run later, we'll see.

We seem to follow each other into these races @icycls , always nice to see you out there, maybe one of these times we'll actually get to race each other! But yeah, pretty low scoring lobby for whatever reason. Even though I managed to go from Q11 to P3 at the end, my 73 points are the lowest for me this season. Might risk going again in hopes of a higher paying lobby but might just bank it and move on.

Also happy that in it's debut race, my brand new DD Pro got me to the podium. :D

Second attempt went much better.

GT3 - one A driver, the rest are B including myself

#5 board but I lay down a good lap in qualifying. Just 0.1 seconds or so off my best practice lap. Good for pole by about 0.2 seconds.

I knew the race start was going to be troublesome. P1 starts much closer to T1 than I had anticipated and practiced for, so I go very deep and drop a couple places. Then after the shortcut hairpin, I go too wide on the left immediately after. Down to 5th.

From here I'm pretty much getting held up by P4 for a good portion of the race, a few light racing bumps here and there but nothing that caused either of us to lose control. I finally get by on the back straight after they oversteer entering the back straight. And from there I just try to put down a good pace.

I can't remember where I passed another, maybe a pitstop? I'd have to watch the replay. But in the last two laps I could see P1 and P2 ahead and I was catching up. Ultimately, I finish just behind P2 and 6 seconds behind P1.

A good enough result, not worth going for a third attempt. I'm sure had I not made those two errors on the first lap, I'd have won. Or if I found a way around traffic easier, I found this course difficult for overtakes.

Hello to my fellow members of the Crawling Around At The Back In The 86 club.

God, I hate all variants of this track. Qualified 13th, way off the pace. Finished there only because 2 people quit. No one pitted (GT2) so no places to be gained. Thought this car would be better on tyres but my front left was shot by lap 10.

Not sure if I’ll have internet to race the last 2 rounds, so needed to do this one & bank the 4th score. I can put up with the Nurburg misery for a few million credits (just).

One and done for me today. Got a win I had no right getting as I hadn't played the game in like 10 days... only to jump in with less than 30 mins practice. It was a GT2 race but might as well been a GT1 as everyone in the lobby was an A or A+ rated driver; 178 points for P1 which is the most I've ever seen for a GT2. Decided to do it mainly because I've only done one of the Toyota Cups thus far and we're running out of events!

Even though my pace wasn't great I qualified in P2. On the start, P1 didn't get away well at all so I was able to get the lead going into T1. Almost got switch-a-roo'ed but managed to hold the lead. Thankfully, P2 and P3 started fighting and I was able to hold a ~2 second lead. Eventually P2 got away and was chipping away at my lead until lap 10 when he crashed going though the final chicane. Lead went to four seconds and that's about where it stayed for the last two laps.

One thing I found interesting is I was the only one of the top five that had a dead tire (LF). Maybe it's because I was running BB+5 for a while until I saw how bad the LF was, then went to -5. Or maybe it's because I was just tearing them up. What've you guys been running for BB and how has it worked out?

Anyway, P1 for 178 points on a race I was going to skip. Going to take that and run!

I am back at an abandoned account. Do i get it right that if i attend any of the last Gazoo-rounds i will be rewarded with the GR Corolla AND the Toyota GR010?

Ran again in slot 4 and glad I did.

Door 8, GT2, mostly B/S with 2 A/S and even an alien A+/S who smoked us all from pole to finish. Most importantly to me was this lobby was worth 139 as opposed to slot 1 worth 79. So I had a good chance to improve my score.

Q5 with a pretty solid run and top 5 is the goal. Got caught on the outside in some T1 melee and was promptly down to 12th. Head down, good pace, couple fights and penalties ahead saw me up to 6th with 3 to go. Ran down 5th with a slick move into the final chicane on the penultimate lap, and then 4th got a .5 track penalty on the last lap and up to 4th I go into the last couple of corners.

Tight and clean racing to the flag from there with 2nd through 6th separated by under 2 seconds. Good stuff!

Bagged a nice 122 points for that, which is now my 3rd highest in the championship.

Hey Everyone!

Reasonably successful outing yesterday in the Gazoo Cup for me, door 3, GT1 split 2 - mostly A+ drivers with a couple of A drivers. Qualified 2nd with a 31.1, a tenth off pole. Reasonably tidy start, bump drafted the leader for the first few laps until we had a 2 second lead on 3rd. Went back and forward a couple of times, but ended up settling in 2nd and staying within a second of the lead before we both pitted lap 12.

We came out in 2nd and 3rd, with the leader (ambitiously) pitting on lap 10. We caught him after a couple of laps, then he binned himself on the exit of the last turn. So we had a head to head shootout for the win with 10 laps to go, which was great clean racing! My front left wore out much faster than it did in the lobbies I ran (maybe I wasn't pushing as hard?), but I had to run the final lap with the tyre fully red, which wasn't fun!

Anyway, didn't quite get there, but 2nd place and 237 points was a solid result. This was only my second race of this season, so every race will have to count for me....I didn't want to risk going again!

Somebody, please, teach me how to do tyre saving with the Dualsense :nervous: I cannot do it even when my life depends on it :banghead:

That start thou :sly:

That ending thou

Same exact situation with me. I really am starting to feel that they intentionally make controller wear the tires out faster to nudge you to spend more money on a wheel setup.

Jumped into the first GT1 slot in NA. Made pole with a laptime .1 faster than my best practice lap. Held the lead from the start for I think a little bit over a 1/2 dozen laps. As my fronts started to wear I knew I couldn't keep the pace so I let 2nd on by. Was still in a decent spot going into the first pit stops after lap 12. Worked back through a few people and some that pitted at the end of 13 and was back in 2nd, then it was just a matter of time as the tires continued to wear and I eventually faded back to 7th by the finish. Annoying to think that if I was on a wheel I'm sure I'd have done better.

No real sense in running again as I can't stop the rate the tires are going to wear. 🤷‍♂️

Hey everyone. So, I rarely do these sorts of championships, and I honestly can't remember what happened last time...is it normal that my points earned aren't showing in the "Points Ranking" screen? Everything is just dashes. I know that I did the first round in the AE86, and I just (supposedly) got 4 points from my first go at this round, but still, the "Points Ranking" shows nothing. Any thoughts?

Well, slightly disappointed I am... Couldn't do better than a 10th position in a mixed A/A+ lobby.

It was a good run by my standards, I even beat my practice times tonight. Tire wear is a big issue on my controller though, guess I'll have to work on that in order to improve next time. Kudos to everyone involved, it was clean stuff from my point of view.👌 Nothing to complain about, but my own result.

Overall, qualified 9th, finished 10th, with around 145 points that won't count towards my final score. Better luck next time I guess.

- Good luck and stay safe guys! - AstroVex

Chuffed with a 3rd place in GT2 with a room mixed of B/A(one A+) driver's. 136 points in a GT2 race is the highest I've ever wine before. Prior wins netted me around 110-120.

I wasn't the fastest driver, starting 5th I qualified behind 4 of the A drivers. For the first few turns I managed to get into 3rd and then fell back into 4th. I stayed there until the last two laps where the leader spun. I managed to keep them behind me for two laps to clinch that final podium spot. Was a really fun race!

GT1, Slot 1 (19:00), Door #13

I spent almost all my time in GT7 this week practicing for this race, so I was determined to get a good result out of it. Obviously, everyone was in the Supra in this lobby. My goal was to at least finish P5, and that's where I qualified with a 1:32.690. Good start.

The start of the race however, was rather sketchy. Got banged around quite a bit, which fortunately didn't result in me wiping out but I did drop down to 7th by the end of lap 1. And I dropped to 8th before the haripin on lap 3. But fortunately, things improved from there.

I gained a position thanks to 6th getting 0.5 penalty and I then overtook another car at turn 1 on lap 4, putting me in P6. I then began chasing down P5 over the next few laps, overtaking them after they spun on a curb. Going into lap 9, P4 was my next target, and their tires were in really bad shape, probably for battling with 3rd. I caught up and got a better exit than them at the turn before the chicane, allowing me to pull slightly ahead and overtake right there.

Heading into the second half of the race, I pitted for another set of Mediums on lap 12. On the previous lap, 3rd place did a last second dive into the pits, gaining them a 3 second penalty. That stinged for them I'm sure, but at least that was one less driver for me to worry about. Everyone else pitted on the following lap, placing me in 3rd place. I began my chase for P2 over the next several laps, finally catching up and making a move at last corner after getting a smoother run through the chicane. Now on lap 19, it was smooth sailing from there as my tires had more grip than the driver I just passed, but 1st was 4 seconds ahead at this point. I didn't have much hope in catching them unless they made a mistake, which didn't happen. I crossed the line in 2nd for 178 points.

After a rough season in the recent Manufacturers, this was a good morale booster that I needed. Hoping to keep this going in the last rounds at Grand Valley and Road Altanta with the GR Corolla. :)

NA Slot 2 GT1 tonight. Qualified a full second off my practice time for p15 start. I figured I’d just try and keep pace and see what I could make of it.

First laps had a few people getting a little out of shape on some of the turns but overall fairly tame. By lap 8 I had moved up a few positions and was in the trailing group so I was feeling pretty good.
Lap 9 it went up the window as I had moved up to p10 and became collateral damage from a torpedo that missed its target.
Down to p14 and after I get out of the far reaches of the sand, I am greeted with a 2 second penalty as I reach the tarmac 🤬

My pace wasn’t fast enough to make up that much lost time so finished in p13. Was finally a higher lobby so I still got 116 points for p13 and I need scores since I missed the last two rounds being away.

The runoff after the guy missed his target. That’s him at the top of the picture.

Coming back to the race and uses me to stay on the track.

SHTF!

I get 2 seconds and he gets 5. He’s way up the track already running with the group again while I am just getting back moving.
Penalty system 🤬

P13 and grateful that the points were good because if I try again it would likely be a lower scoring lobby 🙄

My hours of practice were paying off, in the one slot I had time to do I qualified 2nd and was 1st and pulling away until... my Fanatec decided to randomly reset itself, and even after coming back, put the brake pedal on a half-second delay. Retired to avoid causing any further issues. Ugh. I liked the combo, too.

Im new to Gran Turismo and absolutely worked my ass off to get this podium.

This track is relentless, there is always something coming at you, as soon as you pass one part of the track you need to be immediately preparing for the next part, and since the track is short you are almost always in traffic and need to constantly be aware of all the cars around you.

lol I missed the scheduled race yesterday because I was playing Bloodborne. Can I still join the next ones ?
Yes, you can still enter, even if there’s one round left. The next round is on August 6th.
