I just finished my race, and what I said previously doesn't even remotely cover what I just experienced. I don't think I've felt so uncompetitive in any race, ever. It wasn't even close.

Qualified P15 solely because a McLaren botched qualifying with a penalty and ended P15 more than 40 seconds after the winner. The only reason it wasn't P16 was because someone quit. I was chasing an AMG for P15 pretty much all race, and doing an awful job of it too as the only thing bringing him back to me were track limit penalties which I was too far away to do anything with.

I think I'm going to try some laps in other cars. I really, really want to know if it's the Hyundai, me being bad at the track, or a combination of the two...

I’ve not driving the Hyundai for a while now, but I had some success in the Hyundai in GTWS exhibition (few season ago) and especially at Watkins Glen in Daily Races (but this was over a year ago on different physics).

At Watkins the tyres on Hyundai were quite bad. It was medium and soft, and i had to do an extra lap on mediums to get the softs to last.

Alright, time for a report. First slot EU GT1.
The AMG & 650S from saturday's race were in my lobby again.
Qualified 12th. I don't know how but everyone was extremely fast. Interval from 1st to 16th was less than 1 second. Ran probably my best lap on this track ever and still ended up 12th. 650S on pole.

Race start was fun honestly. Close battles between 6 cars in the first two laps. There was some heavy contact between a few cars in front which meant 9th for me as a BRZ crashed and i double passed the AMG from last race and a Ferrari.
As time passed, about 4 cars in front of me pitted. But by lap 7 the AMG had caught up to me and passed me. I was chasing him the whole race (from what i've read i swear all of us were chasing an AMG this race lol) until he pitted on lap 12. By this time, my front left was gone and was in 5th. Faster cars passed me but because i was going for a one stop, i managed to grab a 9th place in front of the AMG with all my might. 650S won. Not that good of a result but atleast i gained 3 places.

My Porsche was struggling hard, not sure due to what. Not much of a special race, did enjoy the track itself and the close racing in the first few laps! Not gonna try again, tonight i'm doing a race with 15 other real life friends for our league so no chance i'll manage another slot.

Goodluck to those who are still racing. Enjoy the pics of my ALMS Flying Lizard 911! Easily a top 3 livery of all time for me.

In my GT2 lobby driving the Mazda3, I got pole position with1:54.5 fastest lap. I was left alone ahead the whole race, easy 80pts, but not super exciting race. Total time was 19:13.

The Mazda3 feels OP on the long stretch, but had to drive it smoothly In the curves to avoid excessive wear on the overused front tires.

Two races today.
GT2 - Both B/S Lobbies.

I found @Moose78 in my first race. Qualifying seemed to be ok for both of us. Him Q2, me Q4. I wasn't particularly quick, but it was an ok session and didn't have to battle any traffic.

Onto the race!

To sum up my race, I botched up the last turn of Lap 1. I dove a bit too deep on a Supra and we had a minor collision, not bad for him. But while I tried to turn away, a Lambo that dove even deeper than me into that corner hit me pretty hard from the left causing me to crash.

Here's where it all started to go horribly wrong.

One of these things is not like the others ...

Anyway, after that mishap I was down to P16. From there on it wasn't a very eventful race. I managed to claw my way back and finish P10. I hope, if anything, I caused a larger gap behind for Moose.

Race 2 went a lot better. It was a higher paying lobby, too. But I was wearing door 13, so I couldn't be sure how things would go.

Qualifying was good. I put in a better lap that put me at Q2. Q1 was 0.7 ahead, faster than any of my FP laps so I figured P2 was about all I'd manage.

My hope was just be consistent, I didn't think I'd catch the Supra ahead this time. But this time things went in my favor and not theirs.

Here's where it all went wrong for them ...

On Lap 3 exiting the bus-stop, the Supra would incur a track limits penalty. Opening a short window of opportunity to take the lead!

From here on out, I had to just keep things tidy and in-between the lines. And I was successful in those efforts! That Supra also continued to incur the odd track limits penalty and had a sloppy line, the nerves must have gotten to them.

The win is good for 108 points and I even managed a CRB. Not bad at all!

Either I'm slow this season or the 458 GT3 isn't a competitive car. I qualified 1.8 seconds behind P1, who done a 1:43.6 and i done a 1:45.4. In the race the leaders were doing 1:44's/1:45's and i was trundling around near the back doing mid to high 1:46's. I managed to make the tyres last until the start of lap 15.

Finished P9 in the end.

Probably a bit of both.

That said I think the Ferrari was viable round WG? I'd imagine a lot of practice at the sharp end was the difference.

Yeah probably is a bit of both haha.

I can most likely eek out a little bit more pace in the Ferrari but that will probably make tyre wear worse.

The fact that you got the tires to last that long is impressive

Just did 2 race practices.

No-stop my front left was dead at the end of 11 laps, so 4 full laps on pretty much cooked front tires.

1-stop just going as fast and sloppy as I wanted and I was 2 seconds faster over race distance which could still be too close to call I think......maybe if it was like 5-10 seconds faster. Not sure what to do at this point, haha.

Do the tire change. Let the race play out, there will be carnage.

In GT2 it was a long sprint race so a no stopper in GT1 if there is a bunch all fighting then the stop is a no brainer, just in that they are going slower and also red mist or false opportunities will take over. So consistent fast is the better strat over race distance.

I feel like I cheated a bit as my performance at Suzuka early in the week meant I dropped down to GT2

That said pole to flag I will take for my first ever completed manu race.

As an introductory tour in exhibition season you really shouldn’t feel bad about it.
Getting out there to give the series a try for the first time is very cool and I hope we gain another competitive gtp member out on course for gtws for the future seasons too.

Cheers 🍻

We will see, it's not my thing usually and in a GT2 lobby being 240th in the world going in to it didn't make me feel good conversely.

And I mean no disrespect to anyone, but it wasn't racing or strat it felt a little seal clubbing and that's not my vibe.

I'll take the win, and next time make sure I maintain my A rating and be happy starting 10th

Beers are on me though, a win is a win at least regionally where nobody entered :)

🍻

That's kind of what I'm thinking as well. I think being in dirty air also tends to wear tires down faster.....after all, it is just the "exhibition series" :D

I’ve just clicked reading through your post, are you numbered 1 - XX down to previous lap times, performance stars or something similar?

I had a day off and did every single race in GT3. My DR improved from D to B. Got 4th in my final race but only a few points less than the win in the race before.

I had two botched races. Other than that very pleased with the outcome.

This was great fun. I won't be able to do that many races in a day for a long time. Today the stars aligned.

@D_Dragline already answered.

But just to add, it's a decent way to see how your DR will be affected by the results. If you're a high number and you finish lower position than the number you might lose DR. Versus having a low number and finishing above and gaining.

I'm not sure on all the math, truthfully I haven't paid too close attention to it. So far, the only public lobby racing I've done so far is in these championships.

Looks like you had quite a productive day 🤣. 4 wins is that? Apart from that P11 them results are pretty solid. Good going 👍🏻

I’m going in for the 6:00pm UK event, unfortunately running the M4 which I haven’t really driven and most people say it’s slow 🤞🏻 hopefully pull off another good result. Twitch millerrice142
Same. Last time I used the M4 it was around Road Atlanta and even though I was driving it wrong I still was front running until an accident. This time it felt a lot worse. Looking at what the BOP did to it, it is easy to see why. It's not a light car and the mass is kept the same. Then they take away a decent amount of horses and you are left with a very hamstrung car. Even shifting it as soon as I saw the red appear it feels slow after a second in a gear. In 1 lap terms it seems decent. It handles well and is stable. But in race trim it just sinks and stinks. It desperately needs a major BOP adjustment and I'm surprised it has never been addressed.

Onto the race. Thanks to the 1 lap pace I pulled her to 7th on the grid. Except a brief foray into 6th at the start that was as good as it got.

Lap 1 and a car ahead is knocked wide meaning they are slow of T1 and I duck underneath into T2. Heading into the boot section I am then dived and shoved wide. This allows 2 cars through. Thanks to the slip I am able to stay with the group ahead and no doubt helped by their battling. However I was always due to be shuffled down the order. Over the course of the race everyone who gets close passes me and does so respectively. However as the race goes on my front tyres wear enough that braking and turning are no longer to the car's taste. A couple of run wides at T1 and the Bus Stop give me penalties suffling me down further. On lap 9 a 458 runs side by side into the penultimate corner. I give space but they understeer and knock me wide. I come back on and am still side by side into the last corner. They turn in on me as if I am not there and this sends my car into a spin and the barrier. I am now in last but 1. A Cayman has an issue through T1 and I pass them. However they are back on me by the Toe and scoot past on the run to the Heel. Thankfully I just hold a second gap to last place and finish P14. I was never going to do more than 1 run as it was a free hit in case a decent result came. Plus I love the GTWS races. There was a great spread of cars and manus in the race. I love to see it. However I would have had 10th or 11th if it was not for some bad racecraft from the Ferrari. Better control or even waiting 2 seconds to pass me easily on the straight would not have cost them but would have meant 1 poor bit of driving did not cost another driver seconds they needed more than them.

To cool down I watched my epic comeback at the Nords. I will post the race up once YouTube is done with it.

It’s assigned according to DR ranking.

Makes sense, not sure why I never realised how the initial seedlings are made.

Sounds like you managed to get more out of the car than I could, I did a 1:56 odd in practice but only managed a 1:58 qualifying which placed me dead last, I couldn’t even keep up off the line to feel the effects of a slipstream then felt the front loose grip which really didn’t help, the gearing feels too short in second and too long in 5th and 6th, it has the power band of a diesel which is making me kick myself for not choosing another manufacturer, much prefer the Cayman and 458 in Gr.4 but I really wanted to run the M6.

When I was doing my profiling tests of the Gr.4 and Gr.3 cars in the Daily Races with rental cars, the top speed of the M4 was consistently 13-14km/h slower than the fastest one (usually the MAZDA3), and even 3-5km slower than the next-slowest car. It really is atrocious how badly they have crippled that car under BoP.

I want to go do a few laps now to see what the M4 can really do. Ignoring tire wear and definitely top speed it shouldn't be that bad but obviously it is. Just want to see where against my ghost.

Hold my beer :) I'll be right back!

I guess that went about as good as I could have hoped for. I was definitely not on the pace to run at the front in this one. Q'd in 8th, got rear ended and damaged 1/2-way into the 1st lap. Pitted at the end of the 7th for tires and fix the damage. Went back out and moved up a few places to finish in 7th by the end.....I'll take that and call it a day I think.

My DR went but I didn't notice what door number my car was. The dummy math I always used was finish higher than the number on your car at the race start to improve DR, haha.

first full DR B lobby for me, Q13, finished P10 after getting punted or pitted from behind 3 separate times. got thrown into hell lobby after my saturday win. literal garbage bumper car racing. i went from P13 to P9 or P10 3 separate times.

some guy dive bombs me, so i switch him on the next corner and he swings back into me, ping pongs into the wall and loses some speed, then tries to intentionally divebomb me but cant catch me and finishes with an extra 2 seconds in penalties

then calls me a dirty driver in chat?
