GT Racing - GT1, GT3, Blancpain Endurance Series & National GT SeriesSports Cars

They will be broadcasting it live from their website? Will the states be able to pick it up. That generally what I'm asking.

Last year it was available everywhere, but I don't think we'll find out until the race itself. Can't predict how the SRO will be running it unfortunately - hoping we'll get a news announcement about coverage during the week about it.

That said, I'm impressed wit GT1's coverage this weekend. The quality of the YouTube streaming definitely beats what Dailymotion had to offer. The race is pretty good too.

I think the Youtube quality is rubbish compared to the last couple of years of Dailymotion coverage.

The quality here.

looks better to me than Youtube.

A 100% record this opening weekend for me. My team (WRT) winning both races. So I have ended up being happy both times. Great. I felt though that unless the 32# R8 was running faster and stronger, which is the impression I got, Vanthoor could have played a defensive role and helped Jarvis to win.

I think a strong car sitting 2nd being used to protect a sister car sitting at the front which isn't perhaps running as strongly from a fast approaching rival team (All-Inkl.com Munich in this case) isn't a bad idea. Bassong/Winklehock were on the pace for me with a few more laps could have taken Jarvis. Though ultimately in this scenario leaving Jarvis out front could have held up the stronger R8 of Vanthoor, drawing in the Merc's earlier and perhaps Bassong/Winklehock would have taken Vanthoor and then Jarvis; leaving the Audi's possibly 3rd and 4th.

What do you guys think of Vanthoor passing Jarvis? Was it right, or should Vanthoor have defended Jarvis from the Merc's?

I really get the sense that it was a team order but it actually was a good decision by the team because if Jarvis kept on defending his position to Vanthoor, the flying Mercedeses at the back will catch them and possibly put both of the Audis in danger of losing the victory.

I'm not entirely happy with BMW Team Vita4One performance this weekend but their race today is better than yesterday's. Also, the Ferrari looked very strong at the start but lost some pace even before halfway through the race. Disaster for both the McLarens :(

Still, it was a good race, can't wait for Zolder!

Looked that way to me as well.

Vanthoor was quite a long way behind Jarvis on the straight and Jarvis seemed to break really early.

Monza 3 hours next week then GT1 & 3 the week after. I'm happy.

That is what I thought in the second paragraph

That was my very fear as I am not just a fan of Jarvis being the only Brit in the series; but of the whole team. And in the end, as you say, it was a good decision for the benefit of the whole setup. I did think that the 33# R8 did have the pace to hold of the SLR's of All-Inkl.

I think I misunderstood your second paragraph as Jarvis intentionally let Vanthoor pass to not risk a victory for the team. I, then instead get the sense that it was a team order. We never know though. They won't reveal it anyway...

And it's SLS by the way mate, not SLR. I think the Audi would be blown away then!

Grr completely forgot about the GT1 race today.. didn't put a reminder on after getting up so early for the GT3... Very happy they're showing these on youtube, better than Dailymotion 👍

Just caught the race, the races are decent, quite some action going on. Need to get used to the commentary however...

Youtube works great for me, no lag and fast replays are being uploaded! Much better than dailymotion which lagged and replays took awhile to be uploaded in my opinion.

On a side note, I don't know why they've put ABS and Traction control into these cars... kind of took out quite some bit of excitement, not to mention the loss of the sequential stick shift in cars as well.

The commentary is fairly terrible tbh, especially the co-commentator. All he talks about is the equivalency formula.. He also doesn't seem to realise that tyres can wear out at different rates..

I'm on the same boat. It was pretty terrible. I mean, I'm not sure what has happened to John Watson but he's no longer like he was during his time in A1GP. His commentary has gotten more and more boring and more mistakes made! Also, he always thought he knew everything especially about track drying up in the Qualifying race of GT1.

The other commentator seems to be fine, but still no good. Whenever John got something wrong, he didn't even bother to get things right. Wonder who is he? Jack Nicholls?

Watson was awful last year, he babbled on about various irrelevant things during the race which didn't add to the commentary experience at all. I've heard national commentators which are better than him, quite frankly.

Jack Nicholls is the other guy, he seems decent. I think his lack of corrections is probably due to a lack of knowledge about the series but give him some time and I think he'll turn out good.

I haven't had the chance to watch all the coverage, but have they had a chance to explain the new regulations to the viewer? Interested to see how they put across that GT3 are now GT1.

I'm not sure if they did because I only catch the Qualifying Race of GT1 just right before the drivers start the race - thus I'm not sure if they did explain in detail about this year's regulations earlier. In the Championship race of GT3, Watson babbled about why the blue Sainteloc Audi was ahead of the red Sainteloc Audi (sorry, I forgot the numbers!). Jack told the viewers it might be because of the pit time success ballast where the car that finished higher in Qualifying Race will have to stay on the pit a little longer just like last year. They weren't even sure about that and that means they're not even sure of this year's rules and regulations!

Although as I remember correctly, they only said that this year's GT1 all used GT3 cars with slight modifications and that's all. If, what I heard is correct.

Yeah, GT1 please call in the Radio Lemans guys!

I set the YouTube quality to Auto and I think it's fine. Despite the good quality, my slow internet can still cope with the buffer and I was able to watch the race smoothly. I'm satisfied with the stream anyway...

Ok this is a bit nerdy of me but here goes! Here is the theme song for the FIA GT1 and GT3 championships that I personally did for this web site. Not the super best quality but here it is.
http://www.televisiontunes.com/FIA_GT1_World_Championship_-_2011.html

Also too here is the theme for Speed F1 2011. All 4 have same music but different words.

Here is the Speed GP2 theme 2011
http://www.televisiontunes.com/Speed_GP2_-_2011.html

Also did all these for the site as well. I have not done the themes for F1 and GP2 for this year yet cuz I think they suck but I will get to those at some point soon.

Any way make sure u guys check out the http://www.televisiontunes.com/index.php site. He also has themes for video games and football club fight songs!!
