GT Sport (November) Update Theory Discussion

I have a lot of car requests. The car roster has so many holes that I literally have to put my list in a spoiler tag to not make this page 40 miles long.

though seriously, I hope we get at least one or two of the older miata's soon.

You are my hero! Why does the little Miata get no love on the car wish lists? I would love one of each chassis, especially the NB since it's never been in the GT series as a 'premium' car.

Finger's crossed for the next few updates that we get some Miata love.

They should also revive this one in this virtual simulator. A Holy Grail.

That would be great!

If had to hazard a guess at this months DLC besides the Maserati and Subaru... (not a wishlist btw, just my musings)

Returning Premium Road Cars
1. BMW 507 OR BMW Z8 - Too hard to call. I'd go with the BMW 507 as its such an important car in BMW's history. Almost bankrupted the company apparently.
2. Corvette C2 - Past 15th Anniversary car
3. Ferrari 288 GTO OR Ferrari Daytona OR Dino 246 GT - Either one of these, just not all three. We'll eventually see them all return at some point I gather.
4. Lancia Stratos - Add this alongside the Delta and that's all the premium Lancia's done. Past 15th Anniversary car also.
5. Mercedes 300 SL - What the 507 is to BMW the 300 SL is to Mercedes. Both are such iconic German sports cars that it makes a lot of sense to see them both drop at the same time. This months mini-theme if you will.
6. Pagani Huayra - I doubt we'll see the recently announced Zonda for a while just yet. Seems more likely than the Zonda R too. Past 15th Anniversary car.
7. Shelby GT350 - An American icon. Plus it's the only premium rendition of the original pony car. An absolute must for the series.
8. Lexus LFA - Quickly becoming the 'Spa' of Toyotas.

Returning Remastered PS2 Standard Cars
A tough one to call (literally only one ha). I'd go with either...

1. Alfa Romero Giulia Sprint GTA 1600
2. Audi Quattro
3. BMW 2002 Turbo
4. Jaguar E Type OR Jaguar XJ220 - 'The most beautiful car in the world (Enzo's words) OR once the worlds fastest
5. Ford RS200 - long odds
6. Mazda Cosmo Sport - good odds as its quite the Japanese classic
7. Mercedes E190 Evolution - the BMW E30 M3 needs some competiton
8. Toyota AE86 Corolla GT-Apex - Initial D etc.

In the next edition of Gran Turismo I imagine the above are all high on the hit-list to be remastered.

Competition Premiums
1. Audi R8 LMS Ultra - Nice new addition to the Gr.3 class perhaps
2. Audi R10 TDI - Past LM winner
3. Bentley Speed 8 - Past LM winner
4. Toyota Castrol Toms Supra - Is there a more iconic Gran Turismo car?
5. VW Scirocco GT24 - The GT24 is to the Gr.4 Scirocco what the Megane Trophy is to the Gr.4 Megane. Another real world counterpart passed over in favour of a fictitious special.

New!
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS made an IRL appearance at recent FIA championship event in Madrid. A good omen?

My two cents anyhoo. Hopefully the Kaz tweet drops soon!

I'm also looking forward for this car, but which category you think the Supra would fit in? Gr.2, Gr.3, Gr.X, or maybe a new Gr.J, for JGTC cars? Now that would be a dream come true!

I assume it would be Gr.2. Purely because JGTC was simply the old name for the Super GT Series (They had to change it because more than 1 race was held outside of Japan apparently).

I know people are going to counter by saying that power & weight will be different etc. so cant possibly be Gr.2! But remember the classic LeMans racers have been bundled into Gr.1.

It could sound likely, but such a car like that should be under a new class called "Gr. 5", representing older JGTC and Super GT cars. They would definitely be no match for the Gr. 2 racers featured in the game.

Totally agree! But like I said the classic LeMans cars are no match for current cars but are lumped together!

Some very good GT detectives on twitter.
Another interesting theory: the Hungaroring could be one of the future new tracks.
The video introducing the circuit of Barcelona includes shots of the Hungaroring. IMO, even if the video is not produced by Poly, I think the shots come from Poly when they scanned the tracks.
At 1:24:20 for example :

I knew there was something weird and odd with the real life video it just did not look like Catalunya at all (which makes me think why would they show off this track instead of Catalunya itself as an onboard lap)... so this pretty much confirms my confusion for it being a different track than Catalunya itself.
I just kept it for myself thinking it was the F.O.V. of the camera making it look a bit off.

Perhaps this is the way PD teases their future contents for now.. as they have been using this method for some time now:
FUJI in World Tour, 22B in Asia/Pacific region championship, Maserati in the Europian Championship and now this track in the Lucas Ordoñez video...

Very interesting...

Comparison: Hungaroring vs Catalunya

To make it a fair comparison I choose the pole lap from 2017 as the 2018 version of the Hungarian pole lap was in the wet

Good find @queleuleu 👍

At the end of the broadcast when they showed the start date of the American finals, in the small window there was also a video of the Hungaroring circuit

If Hungaroring makes it into GT Sport, I would be very surprised and happy. Always like it when more countries get representation rather by auto manufacturers or circuits. However, we should side on caution since using stock footage of the circuit in preview or promo videos does not necessarily mean inclusion.

The game could recive another openwheeler.
Maybe a 1960's or 70s variation since we have the 80s "Lotus" and the 2010s Mercedes-Benz.
Since we don't have official Lotus' in the game, something like any of the Honda 'RA' F1 cars could show up or maybe even these:

1971 Chapparal F5000 Cause this game needs more Chapparals NOW
