GT Sport (November) Update Theory Discussion

Hungaroring next? Do PD read F1 driver and team comments, and pick the track almost universally derided as one of the most difficult track to pass on?

Just what Sport Mode needs... another track where the only passing opportunities come from contact and divebombing!

OTOH, at least it's a track missing from the other main racing games (except Codemaster's F1 game), but jeez! How about some more non-F1 tracks with a good passing record?!

Always good to be ahead of the curve!

Are the points I made false? Is Hungaroring considered an easy track to pass on? No, it isn't.

The griping about Hungaroring starts with the drivers who actually race on it.

I don't see why would they, F1 is a complete different animal to the classes they're focused on. In which are based on FIA GT classes. I mean, would it be hard for passes with GT3 spec race cars?

I wonder what's so special with F1 cars these days.
Reaction post ot that is, hybrid sytem.
I'd say last time there was hype around F1 cars, was switching to a standardized engine size. Next to that, I'd say active suspensions. Before that, I'd go with wings/aero downforce.

The "F1"cars we got in GT3 were mega. Having then, "4":sly: current Ferrari F1 cars, in GT5P, was pretty epic itself. Now, we have the latest F1 car in GTS. I'm actually liking it, since doing a TT around Dragon Trail Gardens. Even did 10 laps of Lago Centre II in cloudy conditions. It's a weird 35 seconds of tring to get the esses right and not being too aggressive with late braking.

Anyway, that's my quick thought about it.

As someone who's played this game since closed Beta as well as several other games, that's been a problem on all tracks (including the fictional ones) and this game is far from the only where this has happened. That's less a track problem and more of a driver problem.

I assume you meant what makes passing so difficult?

Basically too much aero tweaks on cars. Cars aero/grip just doesnt work in the turbulent "dirty" air behind current F1s and thus theres no way keeping up with the car in front when closer than 1sec approx. If cars are at similar performance that is. Thats why you rarely see the top teams (ferrari, mercedes, redbull) passing each other outside first turns of lap1 and driver errors. One completely destroys his tires in few laps by hanging too close so they dont even try..

With slower cars the top teams can easily make the pass from further back without destroying tires. Making pass by just over powering them on straights.

Aeros will be a lot simpler next season. Maybe we see more wheel to wheel battles then. I doubt it though - the top teams always find a way to make passing them harder.

These things happen on tracks you have many chances to overtake as well (*Cough Monza ) its about the drivers and not so much about the tracks.

Wow. That's very intriguing, though I do not know about an F1's characteristics that much compared to their past counterparts. I love racing virtually but I think I have never raced yet in-game using them F1s before in GT. Only some unpopular racing games dedicated to them there I played but not for long, unlike GT where I played with lots of variety of cars, not just racing ones.

These might never be remade for GTS as they probably would have to re-scan the very cars. I dont know if all of them even exist in that form anymore.

No, I'm pretty sure he uploaded it literally after the August trailer dropped.
yeah but it was a weekend before update you know?first trailer on ps blogvand after that kaz puts image...and we had weekend and update was on tuesday...

Wow dont you lot get worked up easily?! Nothing has been confirmed, nothing has even been announced regarding an update yet every month we get the same motions of panic as though the world leaders have just announced an asteroid is going to wipe out half the earth but have given no indication of where and when! Just relax, your lives wont change and your game wont be affected. So much hype for something completely unannounced. Be patient and await a confirmation and then you have something to look forward to instead of getting all wound up and disapointed.

i don't want to be a mood killer but im starting to think we willnot get an update . (sorry but im used to think this way from the "good old" GT6 days.)

Well the americas FIA races are due October 31 so I guess Kaz would release the details and video of the update the same day.
If not then it might be bigger update for November.

I love how peeps are suddenly getting worried when Kaz hasn't posted a silhouette pic yet.

Given how the America Finals is 2 days away, more likely we may get an August type of update.

But we still have tomorrow so I shouldn't worry just yet.

Now this may be a possibility. He could pull a update announcement on us just like during the Salzburg event.

Totally agree!! Those are some lucky people, if that's all they have to worry about in life!
