Yeah, the pitting in Forza has always been a very weak representation. So, major credit to SMS for PC2's implementation. The only downside I've heard about it is the crew having a single-lug drill on the road cars with multiple lugs. :P

Forza pits looked like a ghost town, PC2 crew members moved like robots, and GT still bugs me with the invisible jacks.
They all have their faults although I particularly like the little wiggle the car does in Forza

I’m not going to lose any sleep over the animation however. For me it’s how pit stops are implemented into the game and whether the option to pit actually makes a difference to the racing. It definitely does in PC2, we’ll see if it does in GTS and I don’t hold out much hope for FM7.

I don't think Forza series as a whole as any intention in going into practicing, qualifying and real race regulations. It's not what the game is about. It's about the love of cars.

After playing Pcars 2 all weekend, I did a few races in GT6. I could bounce off cars, barrier, drive off the grass, with very little penalty. That with 0 assist enabled. I think we have to come to the conclusion that once what we deemed as "simulator" is no longer it. GT and Forza are definitely more arcade than Iracing, Pcasrs 2 and Assetto Corsa.

That' being said I haven't played GT Sport beta. Maybe they change there whole physics driving mechanics but it doesn't seem to appear so by the video I saw online. I could be completely wrong. I am hoping to be wrong.

Comparing GT Sport and GT6, hmmm, they are not the same game

but here is some collision in the most recent build showed to the German press, no details on assist settings though

McLaren Test Driver Chris Goodwin Play

>>デモプレイを終えたGoodwin氏は,以下のコメントを残している。
「Forza 5は,我々のシミュレータの挙動と違う部分が確かにあるとは思う。ただ,ライン取りや局面ごとに選択するギアは同じだった。我々のようなプロのテストドライバーは,シミュレータと実車の違いを経験で吸収して走る能力が身についているが,Forza 5はその能力の範囲内で運転することができたので,よくまとまっていると言えるでしょう」

>>Goodwin, who finished the demonstration play, leaves the following comments.
"I think that Forza 5 is certainly different from the behavior of our simulator, but the gears we choose for each line pickup and for each aspect are the same.A professional test driver like us is a simulator and an actual vehicle You can acquire the ability to absorb the differences in experience and run, but since Forza 5 was able to drive within its capacity, you can say that it is well-organized. "

I think the Willow Springs picture is on paar with GTS. And the asphalt textures are better in PC2. :)

Also, what's going on with the trees at the second PC2 picture? I don't think that looks like that in real life.

@Vspectra - I'm assuming judging by your text, that's PCARS2 on PC? I don't remember it looking like that on PS4...

@sems4arsenal - really? Willow looks a little desolate, but the 'Ring shots show much cleaner texture work on PCARS2. Plus, y'know, dynamic time/weather/seasons.

The main issue is the shader work for me. The asphalt texture work looks better in PCARS 2 (which is odd, since it looks bang on in GTS' Willow Springs), but I think GTS' is more true to life. I'll try to match those with real world shots.

The angle could be the issue as here it looks much better

^^ Fair to say to that in terms of visuals -- PCARS 2 is no where near GTSport.
To be honest, outside of the modeling of the vehicle in the Willow comparison, Pcars looks much more true to life. GTS has that outright beauty, but Pcars looks much more realistic in tone. On the ring, outside of the ugly trees in the far background of Pcars, it seemingly looks better to be honest. Neither are good on the trees in the distance, however, that is a non issue to be honest. Up close, Pcars2 has much better track surface detail, making it stand out that much more. For some reason the track surface on GTS reminds me of clay :odd:

Either way, both are looking pretty good, considering the difference in design decisions.
on my PS4 the game looks much more polished
It's really not looking any different, to be honest.

Honestly, eveything in those PCars2 shots looks like its a generation behind GTS. The only thing in favour for PCars2 is probably the resolution of the textures because its on PC but regards the colours, the trees, the track detail (look how empty everything at willow looks in PCars2 compared to GTS) PCars2 doesnt stand ANY chance!

Edit: at the last picture at schwalbenschwanz, just look at the gap between that concrete surface - in PCars its just a line while in GTS The gap looks uneven patched like in real life - let alone how even the material itself looks..

@ImaRobot I like the way the sun reacts to everything in GTS better. Makes it look less flat.
Having dynamic TOD compared to static, the sun will be in different places casting different compared to GTS. Who knows, maybe if Pcars2 sun was placed forward of the vehicle it might look the same. Either way, I do like how you see the reflection off the glass in GTS, it's a nice touch.

It doesn't look a generation behind, it's just not as detailed as GTS in certain area's. The colors look more realistic as well. The tree's are just as bad in both of them, not that it matters, they're just damn trees. Track detail is literally better in Pcars2, that's the one thing that stands out the most. If you're talking about trackside detail, I don't think either of them are doing that well. However, one's a desert, and ones a forest, there's not much you can do for that. However, there's something severely missing from GTS, that is of much more importance than tree's and slightly different colors, and that's dynamic instances in racing situations. Each game made their trade-offs.

Sorry but where do the trees in GTS look bad? They arent even comparable! The trees at the ring are one thing PD nailed IMO.

And have you actually compared the pictures of the desert? The is soooo much more stuff in GTS, even given the fact its a desert.

Neither look worse then the other. They both use copy/past trees that you can clearly see, and neither are truly looking good. Either way, like I said, they're just tree's, and because of that I hope they spend the least amount of time possible on them because it's absolutely pointless to compare trees. Both look fairly similar at the Ring, with neither really pulling ahead of each other, not that it matters.

more=/=better. They're both fairly bland. The only thing that really stands out is the small bushes splattered across GTS's landscape. And the blimps. It's nothing amazing different between the two. What I like about GTS is the skybox, the sun peaking through the clouds is a nice touch, however, I think Pcars2 capture a more realistic tone for the overall track.

Sorry but i really cant take you serious when you say the trees are equal bad. I am not a tree guy too, but when we compare those pictures and the general look of the nürburgring there is a huuuge gap in quality between those two games, also because of those trees.

I also cant understand how one cant aknowledge the big difference in willow.

But let this be my opinion and the other yours.

What is good about the trees? They're tree's, they're doing their job. How much more do they have to be focused on? Both developers have done enough to them that makes them acceptable.

I am not a tree guy too
Odd, since its the one thing you're trying to nitpick, for something seemingly meaningless.

There isn't a huge gap. There is things that look better in GTS, like you saying the trees, and things Pcars2 does better, like the track surface detail. If you're going to focus on one thing only to make it out to be worse, than I can very much say that Pcars2 has much better detail because of the track detail alone. Yet, I wont, because that's not a very valid comparison of the full image of both games.

I also cant understand how one cant aknowledge the big difference in willow.
I've already acknowledged the differences. The skybox is the main thing that's making a good difference in my opinion.

The trees make out the biggest part of the ring because they are everywhere. So when you want to compare screenshots of the ring you need to compare the trees too.

Also regarding track detail, have you looked at schwalbenschwanz? See the difference? One looks like it actually does IRL and the other one looks like someone just made something the should somehow just show some different tarmac texture, no matter how it loks in real life.

The track detail you mention is just the resolution of the textures which is surely higher on a game thats maxed out on PC, you know PD have to suite their game to a fixed hardware and make some limitations.
