Ok so I thought about this. Ok so most likely a Dodge Challenger R/T or the '68 Camaro, especially the 3rd picture model but without the bull bars. The model of Camaro with the v shape front bumper and wraps around the lights. Also both cars match with the roof line down to the trunk. So it's most unlikely to be El Camino, Chevelle.

El Camino truck ?

In fact @MOV Games got it right if we're being really picky, the '97 indeed was first seen in GT2, the original game had the '96 model. Which is probably the exact same thing but anyway.

IIRC '97 was the first year for the VVT-i version of the 2JZ in Supras, and maybe Aristos as well (less sure on that one). So there is a distinction between that and the '96, but apart from minor stat changes it wouldn't be very noticeable game-wise.

Also, is there any chance that Mustang shape could be the Mach 40 SEMA car? The rear roofline slope looks oddly shallow.

Why do you say that? I think it's as likely we get Le Mans as any other track, and I'd kinda be surprised if there isn't a track of some kind in this update.

It kinda makes sense to include Le Mans with a couple of other Le Man cars. Then again last update had some Le Man cars but included Monza. All well lets see what we get.

Man I dont mind Lemans coming next month I mean make the next update Lemans and have LMP1 cars ranging from 2008 or 2009 to 2017.

Audi R10
Audi R15
Audi R15+
Audi R18 etron 2012
Audi R18 2014
Audi R18 2015
Peugeot 908 (2011)
Aston Martin Amr One
Aston Martin Lola
Toyota Ts040
Toyota Ts050 (2017)
Porsche 919 2014
Porsche 919 2015
Porsche 919 2017

Many would actually disagree at such a list. Thing is i dont care. Lemans track needs Lemans cars aka LMP1 should be the obvious choice.

Why would anyone not want the Pantera? I lusted after that car as a kid.

It's such a disservice to the racing vision of GTS that one of the few new cars we have so far -- the ones that supposedly take 6 months each to model -- is a 🤬 pick-up truck. Save that stuff for GT7, Kaz.

I think you just answered your own question.....

The reason why I personally don't want it is because there is a lack of diversity with the classic cars in GTS. In previous GTs we had everything from Golf GTIs, 1st gen Skyline, American muscle, lightweights (Elan, Europa, Alpine), 'euro' supercars, road going homologated specials etc etc etc.. With a bit of imagination (and alot of testing), you could get a very good classic car 'class' out of them.

We ran one throughout GT5 and it was probably our most popular class, we only started it to do something different, but it got so popular we ran it more than any other lobby / class.

I'd prefer an Esprit, BMW M1, 1st gen Skyline etc etc to help with the diversity, not a cult car/supercar with an American V8, as we already have some of those.

You must be pretty close there I reckon.

They will probably be the stock versions and the silhouette fits better the 71' Mach 1, but theres also few sema winners fitting the pictures.

Eckerts Ford Mustang Mach Forty '69
That was my favourite of the SEMA cars. Looked fantastic!

So I might catch some flak for this one but.....

I only recall Kaz saying open wheel race cars wouldn’t be in the base launch game when asked if there were any, not that they couldn’t or wouldn’t include them in the future.

Hope they’re already modeling Senna’s MP4/4. :D
I must've missed that or completely forgot.

I think Mr. Yamauchi is probably busy enjoying designing games and driving race cars, and is not concerned whether Forum Member 258037 thinks he 'looks a bit stupid'.

Oh dear!
Did I say that he's concerned?
De Tomaso VGT?
You mean this?
ares-design-project-panther-2.jpg

Says who?
He may be onto something because straight after Monza came, Spaces came up for it as well. We have Scapes of Le Mans, so...

I like these cars, BUT... where is the New Ford GT, Porsche 918, Mclaren P1/GTR, Mclaren 720s, Bugatti Chiron, Konnegsegg Agera/One, Ferrari Laferarri FXXK??? I would be much more impressed with these cars.

Most of the cars they're releasing are up-rezzed versions of GT6 cars. New cars take months to model from scratch. The new Alpine A110 (if that's what it is) is a brand new model.

I agree with you and would rather have a tradeoff of lower-quality car models in GTS in exchange for many more recent cars, rather than wait months for one new super high quality car.

Nothing more diverse than yet another GT-R and two more Wedge cars over a car that's literally never been in the game before

I think the real question is how soon are Formula 1 championships going to start popping up in the GT Sport Online Racing subforum?

also anyone find it strange how the Lotus 97T is back, but all the other Lotus models got scrapped? Perhaps the Ayrton Senna Institute was their loophole.

Regarding the Lotus, The old Race cars are under the Classic Team Lotus and not directly Lotus itself look at Project Cars, I remember reading that James Hunts Brother Owns the rights or has some Affiliation to Classic Team Lotus.

Lets hope Lotus and TVR do make a comeback.
