And just to think I was almost tempted to get a Xbox and PGR2 just to race the ring!!

That would have been a big mistake unless you can get an xbox and PGR for $50. You could also buy (PC) F1 2002 for $10 and download the Ring(far more worth it).

I was never exited abot it but theres allot more left to be revealed. The rumor I heard of the full Pikes peak(11miles?) being in is more exiting to me since I've never raced on it.

This will be because of the way I think PD has handled the car engines sounds (& as with many other games). There will probably be an idle noise & one or two 'revving' noises. And it may work something like this:

Idle : Idle Sound.
Low RPM 1000-3000 : Low RPM sound with increasing frequency.
High RPM 3001-7000 : High RPM sound with increasing frequency.

So when you fastforward the replay you will effectively be hearing the 'High RPM' sound @ an even greater frequency which will sound a lot like the F1 cars.

Knowing Polyphony, they've probably recorded engine shounds for every 500 RPM for this game.

But that's not why it sounds like an F1 anyway. It's because the sound is accelarated, and jumps to a higher frequency. It's like playing a tape at 2x speed.

I begged the sony rep to let me drive if you want me to post it i will.
it shows me driving and the ring on a massive screen above my head. not perfect but good enough
I was the only one to drive it because i begged the bloke to let me after seeing it in the menu.

Wow the sense of speed was amazing with the trees and the writings on the track zooming by. Quality spin out at the start too very nice, you know that track particuarly well for sure and I liked all the dips and bumps that you could see also. Thanks for the vid !!

You said that the NY track its two times more detailled than Prologue version. But how is the pop-up thing going? I mean buildings and advertisings suddendly appearing right in front of you. Still too much, less than Prologue or none?

And in Capri, is the crowd in 3D already?
