@Amar212...
would it be possible for you to make a small video featuring the 120d... I think a lot of guys are interested in the first diesel in GT ever. Also curious about the sound! And do you really feel the diesel-torque?

Thanx!

Quattro

Yeah, I was hoping it would have been of the 120d in the first place, since it is a little more powerful it could probably get up to 210 km/h on the straight.

Thank you very much for the video and your impressions about this demo amar, very well written. 👍

I have a couple questions to you:

You said that the NY track its two times more detailled than Prologue version. But how is the pop-up thing going? I mean buildings and advertisings suddendly appearing right in front of you. Still too much, less than Prologue or none?

And in Capri, is the crowd in 3D already?

Thank you again, and I hope I can get my hands on this demo soon.
OMG I was going to ask the same thing!!! :D

From the screens that i saw people post of the full lap nurb video, there are no people along the track, so maybe it is the same with the other two tracks?
Amar where are you? You have a lot of questions to reply to... :)

was meant to be going out again for real in wo weeks but lost my job on friday..... not so sure now. but yes i know the track. i spun outdue to the new balancing of the car. wasnt used to 650bhp and i was driving manual
You said you used the M3 GTR, that car has 450Bhp, not 650.

Yep, the GT4 code is copyrighted and owned by Sony so it would be illegal if made available to download.
But...they're not actually selling it, and I don't think they have any plans to do so. So how would downloading an iso be any different from picking it up at a BMW dealer?

Simple answer to all you people wanting him to rip it is; unlawful distribution hence illegal, going to your authorised BMW dealer and getting the disc is not. So please shut up already.

I agree. 👍

I hope we can get the disc very soon. The waiting is killing me. :)

But any iso's we'd be distributing would be strictly for backup purposes, of course. So then it's perfectly legal, by U.S. copyright law

No because it's still distribution, if you copied you own one and kept it for yourself and didn't make it available for everyone that would be okay, posting it on the net counts as distribution which would make it illegal.

Dont you need a modchip to run a backup on your console? Aren´t modchips illegal too? So whats the difference if it is copyrighted or not?

Sony won it's case against modchip's I heard thus any modchip in a PS2 is illegal so backup discs wouldn't be viable anyway.

edit: this was in the UK recently so nvm. :dunce:

Swap discs aren't illegal though, are they?

And how do you think all these Kazaa servers and whatnot get away with existing? They all (or most of them) have disclaimers saying that they're strictly for backup purposes, hence protecting them from massive suage.

aaaaanyway, back on topic, where could Amar be? He hasn't posted in this thread for like 2 days...The suspense is killing me!

lol... They get away with existing because they work out of countries without stringent laws governing such things, be it Russia or Fiji or wherever. They're generally by no means legal and were they based in some countries could indeed be held responsible for the information passing through their network.

Yeah well the suspence has obviously killed him as well!!!

Anyway.......so what you lot are saying is that someone could distribute the files on the BMW disk and then burn them and play it on a chipped PS2 :D . Its not technicaly piracy because the demo was free in the first place.....BMW dont intend the disk to have any massive market effect......so someone do it please!!!

And also.....I recon that the BMW demo disk will come out as the car is released around the world......UK dealerships are not likely to have it until after the UK launch........on well.....I hope!

Series 1 will be launched around mid september, i think.

And about the files, that the demo was free is not a reason for not having a copyright, no?

Well I don´t really care about the copyrights, as soon as this demo is released it will surely get to the net and I will download it.

I don´t have a single original game, all of them are backups :embarrassed: , this demo is just one more. ;)

^ I agree to certian degree......I do buy and own alot of real games (GT games.....always real :) ).....but if I can't get one (different region or unavailable) I don't really care what sony think!......I will get some sort of copy......I bought a chip for the ability to play other regions and copies! besides this is a demo, not a £40 game.

I don't make it a habit or anything!

You can't pretend that copying of anything doesnt go on.....even the nicest of people download illegal music...play copied games and watch pirated DVD's.

Some of these mulitnational companies rip us off bigtime.......They can afford to loose money for all I care!

I respect that not everyone can spare money for games. But having said that, I do also hope you realise that there had been no Gran Turismo 2, 3 or 4 if it weren't for the people that do buy original games. So be careful where you go with that.
