Not surprised at all.

I mean this next comment in all sincerity. If you have not tried Forza 3 you really should check it out. It will at least help to hold you over while you wait for GT5. F3 really is a great game.
Now that I think about it Forza 5 really could be out by the time GT5 is released. Maybe thats what PD is wating for??? lol

If you have both consoles, that's fine.... if you don't then it isn't very practical to go spend at least $260 just to "hold you over". I happen to own FM3, so I'm ok with the wait to an extent. I still want to play GT5 really bad though lol.

So what about a GT5 Demo?? Will they not be releasing a demo of the game if it is going to take so long until GT5 is confirmed?? Hopefully they will because GT5P is getting as old as GT4 with the same cars and same five tracks.

There are plenty of games on the 360 to justify the purchase. Forza 3 is just an added bonus and from my experience has been much more fun than any of the GT games. Thats coming from a huge GT fan. I just feel really bad for the people that have been waiting what 6+ years for GT5 and have nothing to play. There are plenty of games on the 360. Quite a few racing games too. I just cant imagine waiting as long as some people have. lol I just hope that after all this wait that GT5 at least has a majority of the features from Forza 3 or it will be a huge disappointment for me.

Problem is the purpose of the demo is not to keep the fans happy, it's to make people buy GT5. So we're unlikely to see one more than a week or two before GT5 is available to purchase.

To be honest, if you already have a PS3, there isn't much a reason to get a 360 unless you want to play the exclusives. As for tiding yourself over until GT5 comes out, the PS3 has plenty of games to do that. I own five systems, so I don't have a problem with games. It has more to do with wanting to play GT5, and the frustration of waiting for it. Just like the frustration I felt when I bought my PSP for GT: Mobile...

If any games on the 360 interested me, I would have bought one already. ;)

For you. I've played Forza 1 & 2 and didn't care for either of them.

It hasn't been that long.

The demo came out just before Christmas, and was active for the whole Christmas/New Year period. So clearly the purpose of the demo was to encourage sales of PS3s, PS3 games, the PS brand and of course the GT brand.

I can't agree that a GT demo will be released a week before GT5. If one was released, it would be timed so that the period of accepted lap times finished before the GT5 release.

Please no. GT5P was supposed to be an "enhanced" demo, something to keep us happy one year and we are in 2010 and still stuck with it. TBH this is dragging for so long that I already had the time to leave it completely, play other games, leave them, switch to others, and now I am having fun with GT5P again.

No more demos, the real thing is what we all need and the (PD) better have 100% of their resources commited to release GT5.

Obvious to anyone with marketing common sense.

delaying a video game in order to do what exactly? Sell more TV's? If 3d movies can't sell TV's, cause everyone sees it as a gimmick, what makes you think a video game will? Or are you saying that TVs will sell the game? If that is the case, how does delaying the game help exactly? A $300 game system selling a $2000 TV in this economy is about as stupid as a marketer could get. If the game came out the same day as the Tv or if it came out 2 months ahead of time, it would still be there when the TV's launched.
I'm hoping it's something completely differen cause if that is their view on this, they might wanna retake marketing 101.

Get ready for E3/Gamescom/TGS 2010. European release date: March 31 2011

Also if you're mainly driving/racing sim gamer, 360 isn't the only option. If you already happened to own a decent PC, rFactor is actually a better option than Forza 3. Unlike the 360, you can for example use any Logitech FFB and the physics is much more realistic than FM3. With all the available mods, your racing option is boundless- anything from open wheel F1 to road cars and not to mention all the available tracks. And finally, unlike FM3 which to many will only do enough to placate till GT5 arrives, rFactor on the other hand is so good that it will hold its own against any driving sims.

Why would PD release the box art, features list, and so forth, a year before release? I think we'll all have GT5 before 2011. I also can't imagine just 1 GT game for the PS3 either.

It's called keeping the dream alive. Also may help sell more ps3,s over the Christmas period.

The amount of whining in this thread is ridiculous.
*****snip****
Patience, fellow racers. Whining won't help.
That's exactly how I feel. I don't understand why the mods haven't closed this thread down yet.....it is completely useless.

Plus buying their crappy wheel or the over priced Fanatec. Cuz Mr Gates made sure of finding yet another way to screw people over by not allow Logitech's wheels to be usable on the 3shi##y.

I decided not to buy a wheel for fm3, it is worthless at this point.

Why do people keep bringing up Bill Gates' name every time Microsoft does something they don't agree with? :grumpy:

No way - Bill Gates has retired now. Him and his wife have left active involvement in M$ to follow humanitarian* pursuits

Amazon claims info from Sony:
No, they don't. Internet users claim Amazon claims info from Sony.

Multiple N4G forum users are also claiming that Amazon has informed them that the date came direct from Sony.

And looking at N4G I find this:
Ok so today (feb -8-2010) I go to Amazon and I see the date for GT5 has changed from March 2010 to NOV 1 2010... so I call them, because I didn't get an email warning of a date change.. (I have it Pre-ordered - so they normally send an update)

I get transferred to a supervisor who tells me it just happened and it came official from Sony, that the new date for the game is Now NOV 1, 2010
So, a dude on the Internet claims that a Customer Service supervisor claims it is coming direct from Sony. At best, it is third hand info. At worst, it is the Internet doing what the Internet does.

No need to buy GT5 then huh? You could sell your PS3, make a tidy bit back on your investment and buy Rfactor and race to your hearts content.

Don't you have to pay a subcription to play rfactor?

Boy, rFactor should think about doing some advertising.
This is the 3rd or 4th time I've seen people on the forum
who think you have to pay a subscription to play rFactor.
Nothing could be further from the truth. rFactor is so cheap,
it's mind boggling. If you buy a new DFGT or G25/G27, you
get rFactor FREE with the wheel. If not, you can get it for
$10 (used) on eBay or about $25-$30 new. After that, all the
mods (tracks and cars) are free to download from various places
on the internet. And you don't need a $2,000 supercomputer
to play rFactor either:
