GT5 delayed

I have spent the last couple of weeks wondering why there doesn't appear to have been much new media on the game. For the supposed release date, there was a surprising lack of shots showing off the new cars, tracks, features etc.

Not so surprising now.

You have a point. Its about time they released a full car and track list. Forza did it quite a few weeks before release.

A console-seller like GT5 doesn't have to launch for Xmas to do big numbers and more & more publishers are realizing this and spreading their hits throughout the year. One to avoid buyer apathy and more importantly, to make sure they don't have fallow periods in certain times of the year. A side-effect of that is, if something happens to flop, you don't have to wait six months to make up for it with another release.

Am I one of the few who still have faith in PD and Kaz?

There should be a reason for the delay. A good one. Be sure of that.

We are all somewhat frustrated by those news. So what? We get to wait some more. That is how life goes.

Also, do not forget that GT5 is taking so long because the guys at PD decided that they should listen to our requests. Damage, weather, day and night cycles, new famous brands, track editor, and much more we will see in the full game. At least show some gratitude.

We all know GT5 will be epic. We will all buy it. And we will all thank later, for the effort of those we blame today.

Peace.

If they announced a delay 2 months ago, fine.BUT IN OCTOBER..just wrong.I was just reading my old ps mags, that had GT2000.and Kaz said 50% of the cars in it are remodelled, the other 50% were converted. Then I thought..wow..cant believe it..so close to GT5...NOW THIS DELAY

Eurogamer said that PD is going to reveal the new launch date in the end of this month. Even PD doesn't know when they will finish the game. That's sad!!

Exactly. You're not really living with it, either. You're the one to talk.
On the contrary: I am the one to talk. I am perfectly okay with the game being delayed. I've created programs in the past. I know how there are always things that you can't account for that can take forever to fix. All in all, I'm at peace with this game's delay, and actually a bit relieved for various reasons. I'm also at peace with the people who have been expressing disappointment with the game being delayed.

What I cannot live with is various groups of ignorant people standing up on soapboxes and bitching about things they don't understand ("So what if PD ran into problems with the game? That doesn't make a difference. I want it on November 2nd!"), simply because they feel that they have a right to play the game by their terms. These two issues are completely distinct.

by the time this is out. PS4 will already be out for 9 years and they will announce

"Gran Turismo 5. For the PS3"

"Gran Turismo 6. For the PS4 Release Date: NEVER"

Those things should have been in the game anyway. Do you think that without requests they would just have made GT4 HD ? If so,they need a reality check. Competition has gone a long way since GT4, I'm not sure they realised this early enough.

Gratitude ? For what, a game that is going to earn them millions of dollars ?
Maybe they make enough to buy some courses in project management

If that's the case, how is the holiday season a reasonable date then? A release date needs to be announced atleast a month ahead of time for marketing, shipping, and reasons like that right?

Oh yeah? Well, I've delayed my purchase of GT5. HA--in your face, Sony and PD!

In all seriousness... while I understand that you can prepare for everything but the unexpected, it's been a very long time coming for GT5. There comes a point where people just plain get fed up. I hope to not ever reach that point, but holy crap.

Well those trolls should be thankful they can play their chosen game right now and go do it.

I dont get what all the fuss is about?

I always handed in my essays late, but they were golden, so I understand polyphony on a deep level.

I can wait, im still just as excited

I just found my Prologue disk so I'm good (as I can be) for a while.:dopey:
I just hope the delay is worth it..

Skidmarks, rain, premiums and standards together. Full 16 grid. Have all these features been shown on one vid.

I don't think so. All separate titbits to fool the masses.

It's a hoax.

Software issues came up when the discs where supposed to be in manufacturing? Riiight

Sony sheep

Posting this picture again, never thought I would have to do it again:(

Shouldn't Forza trolls be playing Forza 3 instead of making fake accounts and starting arguments anonymously over a forum. Well if Forza 3 just isn't better than that then what a shame.

Honestly, I'm over Gran Turismo thanks to Sony.

Yes, obviously I'm going to buy the game and enjoy it to no end whenever it comes out but I'm not waiting anymore. We know it will eventually come out but until then who cares. We've been toyed with (and I even get the feeling lied to by Sony Executives) so many times over the past 3 or 4 years that who can trust anything.

GT is reaching Duke Nukem proportions as far as vaporware. It's getting funny at this point.

Beyond that THings like this have driven me away from the PS3 period. I was a Playstation fanboy for the past 10 years (not hardcore but enough to scoff at the idea of another system). Now I own a XBOX and do all my gaming there. The ONLY reason I'm keeping my PS3 is for Gran Turismo series (and secondary accounts for fun on games I also play like Cod and Battlefield). Other than that I've moved completely to the XBOX. Yes, Microsoft has issues too but not half as many as Sony does with developers, 3rd party companies and DLC and their own internal marketing.

Way to go Sony (even though I still love your products).
