GT5 delayed

As i said it is not of fear to compete with other games or with MS, but releasing Gt now will harm their other PS3 game sales, as a lot of GT customers will not buy another Ps3 game (cod, fallout, nfs, fight, ....)

I think that is a main reason. Because releasing it nov2. or dec2. will not mean a lot more income for GT. But in general ps3 games sales

i'm thinking this every day...

Gt5 is the killer application for Ps3 and for all the ps3 games themself..:nervous:

Game UK with a vague Dec-2010 date is not exactly concrete evidence. Sounds more like a 'we'll have to say this year, but quite possibly not' affair, because right now, no-one knows for sure, not even Sony.

I see your point, but really, since when did people not buy games they wanted... regardless of release windows. If there are two games i want that release the same day. I buy one, beat it, and then buy the other.

Something like COD will take all of 8 hours to beat... GT5 will take months.

Either way, if people want something, or something(s)... they are going to buy them and Sony will get every greedy cent. Its a shame GT5 fans are apparently getting thrown under the bus to appease other game release windows.

I wouldn't have bought a game after MOH due to GT, Now i'm out for fallout 3, the fight and NFS

It's just the "marketing decision" because of competing with MS" is not comprehensible for me. Neither is the "more income for GT alone in december rather than nov".
Sure Xmas is a big share for entertainement industries, but people how have not bought a game released in nov. will buy it for x-mas. it's the +- the same income for a game. Just in numbers it would come better to have 750000 copies sold in a month rather than have 500000 in nov and 250000 in dec. But that is ot such a serious issue to possibly harm the image of a developper or brand.

I guess there would still be people buying multiple games, but a good percentage would skipped 1 or 2 in favor of another one

You know the real reason the game was delayed was Ben Collins. I mean think about it, GT has Top Gear in it and with the recent uncovering of the Stig it probably messed up some license agreement. PD had to change it around and thus missed the production date. Seriously we should stop blaming PD and Sony and start blaming Ben Collins.

Should we be attacking Pd offices?

That made me lol.

Well I did wonder this and for whatever reason, my thread was closed after five posts, despite it being a relevant discussion.

It's the theory that makes the most sense to me. I mean why else would a game that was 5 years in the making miss a date by 3 days? Makes you wonder. We probably should put Ben Collins' head on a pike.

Are you serious?

Agression like that is uncalled for here, Rey-FD.

Unless it's directed at Ben Collins. In which case carry on.

Dutch shop has changed the releasedate to Dec. 15th. No idea how they came up with that one though:
The same way amazon has Nov 2nd and gamestop has Jan 1st - they're guessing.

Fanboy? Not at all, I just know that GT5 is awesome. If I knew Forza 4 is awesome I would say the same, but I don't work for Microsoft.
Look, GT1, 2, 3 and 4 were all amazing games. Why is it so hard to believe that GT5 is also going to be awesome? Why is everyone so pessimistic about it? Why does a release date really affect how good the game is going to be?
Great! Where did you buy your copy? :dopey:

I'm not irritated by your (and others) constant moaning, I find it immensely amusing at this point as you have no idea.
Ask if I care? ;) I have no intention to suck up to PD just to appease to you.

Someone please GIF this with the car and garage having GT Planet logos, the building having SONY Marketing logos, and the guy getting punched one of the marketing teams.

Because if the game is late by few days, why release it weeks later?

Dead serious. Think about it, you'll see that Ben Collins is the reason for all your frustrations with the delay.

I do want as much as anyone else here to find someone to blame, but this is, in my opinion, completely off the scale.
It would be easier to blame the Pope...

I hope we should take this one with a grain of salt:

From a GameFAQs post:

“I spoke on the phone with a friend that lives in Japan who has a buddy working at Polyphony. Now get this…the reason they’re delaying once more is because the online portion of the game is nowhere near ready. Apparently, Yamaguchi wanted to be upfront with GT fans and announce an April 2011 release date, but Sony figured it’s better to announce a Holiday Season release date to keep interest in the game and when Christmas time comes around announce the actual release date of April 2011. So guys…don’t wait for this game to come out before the end of the year.”

Probably rubbish but it will be interesting to see if it turns out to be true. I hope it’s just a troll : /

Better have a whole truck load of salt because "friend of a friend" doesn't really fly as credible info.

Even our trusted mod Famine thinks Collins is behind it.

Really? I'm betting that it's all Ben Collins' fault. Ben Collins jumped ship with his ill-advised autobiography, which has forced the BBC to find an alternative. If the BBC are rebranding the Stig, GT5's Stig-heavy content would be out-of-date before it even hit the shelves.

[Kim Jong-Il] Screw you, Ben Corrins [/Kim Jong-Il]

Makes sense when think about, especially with hue big the Top Gear brand is now.

1.we don't know how much longer we have to wait but i personally think 2-4 weeks ( are 2-4 weeks much if we compaire it with +5 years ? , no guys come on don't make it a disaster ) really 2-4 weeks are not much

2.1 week ago i was dreaming about that :D i thought there are so many GT fans and this game is the best racing game ever and it will be sold million times , and then i thought how much time they need to make all of this copies ...

3.VERY IMPORANT: some people say that they have gave all the time a new realase date...(many people think so because Sony said 1 time that the JP version COULD come in Q4 and all people thought it is official ,Sony is not PS ! )
that's not true
PD gave 1 time a realase date and that was 2nd November ,, that is the FIRST time that they have changed it

4. i wanted to say much more but iam disappointed about all the members who are vera angry now because 2-4 weeks more 👎:grumpy:

I really don't think it's ben collins, it's not like BBC have axed the idea of the stig for Top gear yet, Ben collins is just the man behind the white helmet.. the stig is simply a manufactured figure to use for lap times and various reasons, and he is easily replaced.

Yes, does make some sense. But I haven't seen any changes on the way Top Gear itself (the site, at least) treats it.
The point is that are many other theories much more reasonable for the delay. I'm sorry if I said it's completely off the scale, it isn't. It's just not that feasible, IMO.
Sorry for the bad english.
