IF the release date comes at Sema....
That means that....
GT5 and the Discovery launch on one day ! Awesome...
2 events of epic proportion.

"Leading up to SEMA and the Gran Turismo Awards, exhibitors have been invited to submit their vehicles into one of five categories: Best Hot Rod, Best Asian Import, Best European Import, Beat Domestic Automobile, and Best Truck/SUV....

....From there, it is up to Kazunori Yamauchi himself to select which vehicle is worthy of the Gran Turismo name to be recreated within a future installment of Gran Turismo."

could this mean yet ANOTHER delay ? :ouch:

How exactly is saying nothing lying ? We are waiting to hear the new date but as of yet we have not. This is not lying to us it is keeping us in suspense.

They arent going to wait til some big even to once again announce a new release date for this game. Why would they do something like that, when they know damn well it could end up just getting delayed again?

I really think they are avoiding announcing a date until they have a better idea of when the game will be done. And dont say the game is done, or was almost done, we dont really know that for sure. We're all just speculating.

If I was Sony, I wouldn't announce anything until I had quantity in hand, on the trucks, ready to go.

With the way things are going, they'll announce a date and UPS will go on strike a week before that date. ;)

This is the kind of thing that can hurt eventual sales. We know GT5 has a large market which will buy no matter what, but every game has an impulse buy market also, and a lot of the time that impulse is only strong once which is why it's important to have things stocked and avaialble.

There is a good chance many potential sales will be missed when someone who isn't a big fan sees it and that thought snaps in their head "ooh that looks cool, I remember seeing a picture of some cool car, yeah I'll get one, why not" but when it's not available when they get to the store it will be written off and the next sparkle to catch their eye will get their money.

The next time they see it for sale, that exciement and connection may be lost.

I think we've all had moments where we almost snapped something up on impulse because it seemed cool or sleek but then never again felt the need or urge for that thing.

Mmmm... I don't think so... If Sony lets pass Chrismas sales... Will mean lots of economic losses... It doesn't mean all the Sony's income will come from GT, but five years of development... That means a huge budget... Humm, that's a risk I think a company like Sony shouldn't allow... That's way the used the expression "within a future installment of Gran Turismo":guilty:

Just think, if Sony and PD weren't screw-ups of galactic proportions, you'd be playing this game in just over 32 hours if you were to attend a midnight-release on the East Coast USA.
