German version apparently.

Nope! Not posted yet I don't think.:D Are there more where that came from?

Never mind mate. It's good to see pictures in this original demo thread. :dopey:

Not to mention, when an explosion of GT5 proportions such as this occurs it can be easy to fall behind with what has happened on the forum in the past hour or 2.;):)

There will be no 2nd demo, the first 20 won't play it online.

How do you know that they won't release it after that round of GT Academy?

I know the GT academy round 2 isn't going to be online.

But it will be already finished and could be distributed through PSN afterwards. It is doubtful, but its different to all the Tokyo demos, this is Spa we're talking about! (or very likely to be Spa at least) We all want to play it and PD know it. If Sony are willing to fork out the cost of the download servers...

If you're listening PLEASE do that Sony/PD.

EDIT: This depends on when the second round takes place of course. Its its any later than February theres no point.

Whats the chances the demo will have some kinda opening movie? Teaser trailer?

Did we ever find out any more about the trailer shows to the press?

Ok, here is some German preview and first impressions on the Demo:

I will do a translation asap

Alles in allem sind wir negativ von der Gran-Turismo-5-Demo überrascht worden. Schade, hoffentlich bessert Polyphony bis März 2010 erwähnte Schwächen aus.

In the end, the demo negatively surprised the guys at videogamezone.de, especially visually. The grass is a flat texture, the smoke effects look the same on grass and sand, the crowds look like low res bitmaps, the landscape feels sterile and damage is switched off.

Thanks. To sum it up they weren't impressed by the demo:

- no debris like pebbles or grass when going off track
- no damage (maybe due to limitations of the demo - no option to turn it on or off)
- graphics not up to scratch
- sterile look, though they liked the cockpit (surprisingly life like)

Well, well.

So we don't even get to try out the damage model?

Oh well.

What about the physics/sounds?

EDIT:

Sounds... Oh my God the sounds :D

Does this mean the sounds have been improved?

EDIT: I didn't see the video, NoScript blocked it.

No, the sound in the video seems to be the same as in Prologue.

The shadows areas jaggy as in prologue, the spectators, the trees, everything is basicly looking like prologue.
But hey the video seems to be quite low res.

I still don't think of this as a proper demo.

They are more focused on GT Academy and getting new drivers, which is what this is for. GT Academy is also more popular now.

My first reaction after seeing the guy take the first turn: AWW COMMOOON! :(

Honestly..why is it always the obvious non-GT fans that get to try out the games first. This guy obviously never played a racing sim before.

What? Amar, Amar... now... what are you hiding? :P

Nevermind, just saw the video too XD

I'm sure amar is playing the demo as we speak. I hope so anyway. It would be good to get a trusted expert's opinion on the demo.
