Any info on what wheels are support? as well will it use the EYE camera feature? How about roll over? sure damage is off, but rollover is physics and not damage! (unless they turns it off for the demo)

oh yeah, the movable environment tires? they will fly off if you hit them?

The official screens of the demo are FAKE AGAIN!!
Compare the shadows on the real thing and what they give us as screenshots before they release it. I'm starting to think they won't fix these things for the whole game. And I'm surely not impressed by them bull****ing us like this.

You are seeing the difference between in-game shots, and "Photo mode" shots which are taken in high res. :dunce:

WTF? I must have been watching a different clip.......

One clip, a driver spins out, there is another clip where a driver takes on Kaz's ghost lap time, he does pretty good at beginning, later he goes too slow on corners and looses a lot of time. Seems he need to use a wheel , because he was too jerky at every turn.. That video is on front NEWS page.

Interior photo mode shot?
If that is the case, then they haven't shown us a single screen from gt5 which actually represents the quality of the game. This creates a false impression both on people not very familiar with the game and those following the newest info.
I hate nitpicking, I don't really care about the damn shadows. Actually the graphics of prologue are beyond fine for me. It's just that since prologue (2 yrs ago) we've been wondering what will be improved, and so far it's almost nothing (except transmission whine sound).

Not all controller drivers are "jerky". Smooth is fast, whether it's on a controller or a wheel.

Ok so he needs to practice bit more. For me, if I used the controller, I would be same as the driver, very jerkey :P wheel is best option for me

That video is on front NEWS page.

Along with the sweet video, there is the the usual write up by Jordan that I found to be much more interesting than usual (not that the write ups are normally not interesting.) It starts out calling this the "GT5 Demo," then he goes on to say it not supposed to be called a demo while he calls it a demo in the next sentence, and ends up calling it a "thing!" I chuckled several times reading it, and not at Jordan either.

PD, as a entity, seems like it has a personality disorder. Almost poking the public just to see the reaction. Sort of like The Boy That Cried Wolf.

Yeah, I meant the second vid, the driver's not bad actually, especially compared to the other one.

And as you keep bringing it up, a GT game where you need a wheel or be an alien :P to be competitive doesn't deserve the name IMO... one reason GT got so popular is that it was not like the other driving sims on PC and easy to pick up.
Prologue is a complete fail for that matter.:ouch:
Anyways, for the driver in the second vid, you may notice that he's way closer to the ghost on his 2nd (flying) lap as on his the 1st (warm-up) lap?

No way, this can't be it. It looks like the PSP version. This is even worse than GT5P. Why would they release such bad quality demo. I won't believe this photograph is real until this thing is running on my PS3.

It looks like GT5 running on a PS3.

Gran Turismo has always had a beautiful but sterile look to its environments, Polyphony have always had life like car models mixed with expansive but slightly barren appearance.

Personally I think it looks very good, and when the viewpoint changes to 3rd person, the car looks gorgeous.

Interesting to hear how the SONY damage control kicks in after the negative vibes on the graphics by saying that it's not a demo of GT5 afer all, and simply something to show off the new physics, just for the GT Academy competition... Riiiiiight, whatever Mr SONY man, whatever.

Any idea if the PS store will be updated at 12:01 am on Wednesday the 16th (effectively the 17th)?
I am 99.999% sure that it will update at their usual time of anywhere between 3:00 PM and who knows. In fact, based on past instances of largely anticipated releases I would be willing to bet they have some major issue and not get updated until after midnight (effectively the 18th).

Straight off the GT website, link is in the news section-
"The demo was specifically designed for this competition to showcase the realism of the brand-new physics engine"

Can we please stop saying this isnt a demo?

This is damage control -
"The full Gran Turismo 5 will feature multiple driving assists and various settings that can be changed to make the game easier or more challenging and realistic."

OK, I just finished watching a few videos - the game looks flat and lifeless, almost like I'm watching an old hi-res PC game, except with a nice looking car. Don't go blaming the fact that it is the race track environment itself - PD really need to step things up in this regard, as well as the audio.

Re-read what I wrote and then realise that it was silly of you to quote me and bold that part. I merely commented on how interesting it was that SONY would come out and not call it a demo. I did not say myself that it was not a demo. Whatever it is, they are right about the graphics.

This is such a stupid argument, yes I know I was on the not a demo side, but its still a stupid argument. We are all going to play it, if your here you are probably going to buy the full game anyway.

They call it a demo, yet you say they said its not a demo.

And they're incorrect how?

f1 championship edition has the Indy track. If you downloaded the demo in the past and deleted it you can go to your download list and get it again to practice the track for the next few days!

From the front page...

"With that said, someone with access to the demo also received an email from Sony that wanted to emphasize this is not a demo of Gran Turismo 5"

Can you not read? I merely repeated what was quoted already

IIRC Rockstar didn't release a demo of MC:LA because they said it couldn't possible reflect they gameplay.

Now I really would like to know how some seem to come to the conclusion, that a time trial demo on a rather dull looking track without any other cars on the track can possibly so much as hint at what GT5 will be like? What about the 900 other cars that will ship with the game? What about the iconic original tracks like Trial Mountain and El Capitan? They don't get showcased at all! What about AI, GT mode, online features?

Really, get a grip on yourselves, that's maybe 1% what GT5 will be about what we have seen today. There will be more spectacular tracks, environments, pit-stops, and who knows what.

Take a Jag E-Type round the Nordschleife, and THEN start complaining if it fails.

Would be nice if it did fail. I am not asking for this but would like to see mechanical failures. Its not a must have though. Whatever is in GT5
I will be happy with it.

I hope this isn't too off-topic, if so please delete.

<shameless publicity>
For people with Forza 3 who want to have the same 370Z while waiting for the Time Trial Demo to drop, you can get it on my storefront (alba7). Search for 370Z GT Academy

One of the reason why I did it is because I can't wait to play it Q__Q

Right, it's a demo(-nstration) of the new GT5 physic engine, but not THE "GT5 Demo". People go crazy when they read that.
A real demo would show more basic aspects of the full game.

Does it have a starting grid of at least 8-12 cars? No.
Does it have AI? No.
Does it have mechanical/aesthetic damage? No.
Does it have tire wear/fuel consumption? No.
And so on...

1 extra question for fun:
Does it have reverse lights/skid marks? No...

It's not representative of GT5 nor it is representative of GT5p.
It's just a Time Trial powered by GT.

Looks good Alba. I'm going to have to get you to tell me how you do that stuff so well once I start fiddling with it in Forza 3.
