..same first video, same impressive driver... still glitched, but a liiiiiiiiittle better quality..

wow, looks like there is a little more head movement for the incar view! Awesome, even the sounds seem much better than prologue. I guess the only truly hurtful disappointment is the absence of tire marks. :nervous:
thanks for posting, im excited to get my hands on it now.

PD really do need to come up with some more original menu designs and accompanying sounds. It really makes the game feel dated, despite being a recent version.

I really like the menu concept of GT and old school sound effects. With exception of abusive menu travel and acknowledging.

So far I am. :dopey:

I saw what appears to be his user name, but is it really him?

I've posted this before, but look at 4:29, from a quite similar venue:

So there's really a chance that it's indeed him. After all, why wouldn't it be? He takes pride in competing obviously, and doesn't mind to be beaten.

No not a guide, it's in GT5P also when you go on the grass or sand, it automatically limits your throttle (I hate it). The red shows you how much you want/command and the blue bar shows you how much the game allows you. In GT5P when you have the assists off and are on the road this doesn't happen, but in this demo it appears it does.

Thanks for clearing that up, as you can see I have never played GT5P, only GT4. You are absolutely right, it also happens in the German video, that guy was quite often off the track.

Jay
My concern is just the demo for GT Academy, which would be done to keep it even for everyone, thats assuming this throttle assist can't be turned off, as wedon't know for sure yet.

Well, I look at it this way: the TCS changes the handling of the car, yet if you are really skilled (which I'm not anyway) it shouldn't make that much a difference because you'll have to master the car with or without TCS. There's no tuning available, so you have to put up with the car the way it is. No big deal hopefully.

Yes they do and it does.
Agreed about the ingame / menu music.

You just finished the most intense race on prologue, and then you return to the menu with the most boring music ever. They should just let us choose our own ingame / menu music, like in GT3 if I remember correctly?

Not so much the music (although that is usually naff), it's the same-old navigation style and sounds. As such, it really does take away from the "quality" of the rest of the game.

Yeah, menus do not affect the core driving, but then I suppose those same people don't really care about how their car looks, only how it drives...

Here are 3 GT5 60Fps 720P videos. Grab them before the server is boiling...
Quick Menu Tour. Indianapolis Road Course Tour.
Indianapolis Road Course Gameplay.
Indianapolis Road Course Replay.
Even streams are 60Fps...
HDMI capture, best quality available so far.
Youtube HD streams uploading for those at work...

As I had trouble with my PS3 today I couldn't capture anything else, so this are the first laps I made on the demo yesterday, it was about 1:00AM so don't expect a high skilled lap...
No settings were changed, soundtrack is on, TCS is on... I just tweaked the map as this is a breakthrough feature in GT series :sly:

By the way the hood view is gone

i cant wait, i finish uni tomorrow, and return in feburary, gotta get at least 50-75 hours worth in to stand a chance of getting in the top 20 from the uk, but then again id be happy with top 100.

Notice the windtrap on the top of the tower with numbers and then the flags, they catch different wind perhaps? Track texture detail is very low, grass is nowhere and DOF effect is still blurring very roughly. The option to turn the map off is great.

R0M, any impression on the physics changes and wheel feedback (if you use one)? Also, how is the anti-aliasing now in the driving view?

Track texture detail doesn't look very low to me

The type of surface with the cut grooves seem to give tyre marks a blurred appearance

Oh and thanks ROM 👍

Jay, this is very good and one of the things I called for, but their actual LOD system smudge textures very fast as you are going few meters away. And it's really visible.

Why is it always the Tuned 370z...no one like the normal one? Would love to see the difference in sound and physics with the N3 tires...

ROM and Joe Racer.. give us a few hints how are the physics with the S-tyres. 👍

No S tyres, the Tuned 370Z is limited to R1, the stocker is limited to N3.

My thoughts exactly, everyone always seem to go for the faster car. I don't mind though, demo is almost in our hands anyway. :)
