I know, let's ask a question in an attempt to get your pointless post back on track...

haha.. you'd kill to get the last word, woudn't you? At least I had an attempt to get back on the track. :D

Sorry, I mean the N3- tyres.. How are they?

If it were me starting up the game for the first time and having a choice between a stock and tuned versions, I would almost always go for the stock. Also because the tuned z has R1 tires which would mean they will grip more, the N3's will be a little more tricky and a good way to see how the physics have changed. Back end kicking out here and there :)

Jay, this is very good and one of the things I called for, but their actual LOD system smudge textures very fast as you are going few meters away. And it's really visible.

Ok, what about this then

Thats in game gameplay with camera movement, still looks ok to me (track detail texture)

Even pics like this

which is just blurred from camera reference speed, the grooves in the road seem to make shadows and marks blurry, but when the grooves are lined up with the camera direction you can see them clearly and they don't look low detail.

From what I have seen all the parts of the track that look like low detail surface seems to be this grooved surface areas which gives the impression.

God damn, looking at these screenshots makes me want to see the other tracks like la Sarthe and Citta di Aria so bad. It looks fantastic. Best recreation of IMS ever (okay, iRacing is of course at least as precise, if not even better, but the graphics make it so better).

Anyone noticed the driver is holding the steering wheel different now?

Way better placing of the hands than GT5P IMO. 👍

Good spot, he seems to hold it lower, probably since they added paddle shift animations (in other cars) the hand position has come down.

The colour of the sky is more than slightly off IMO, and where are the birds!!

At first i thought you were serious because theres been so many similar complaints in this thread :P

First thing ill do is take a car and plow it into the wall. Lets see if they gave us a taste of damage.

It will be almost as spectacular as this:

/If you didn't get it yet, the demo has no damage

Jay
He's from England, they have never seen blue sky.....

jk jk :D

Oh us English people do see Blue sky...

On holiday, in Spain :sly:

hahaha so funny!!!!!!:dopey:

OK, be honest now. How many actually checked out the colour of the sky? ;)

Jay,
next time you ruin my punch line there will be big trouble. ;)

:)

I'm downloading the demo as we speak (through the help of an awesome friend who'll remain anonymous) can't wait to try the new physics with the wheel see what changed :d:d:D

Kill, no. Post, yes.

Having looked at those images and some more footage, it is clear that PD focussed WAY too much on the cars. Environments look flat and bland, and no, it's not just because of the track in question.

Thanks for the media ROM.👍 I watched the replay carefully and there's something to the way the car gets out of shape and the way it bounces more lifelike over curbs and small bumps, like the one leading back onto the oval. Something looks....different than prologue, I'm very excited to check this out!
Hey you've been kind enough to show off some tasty video, so why not indulge us with your impressions of the driving physics? Come on spill the beans!!:scared::)

Now you're talking through your hat.

How would one possibly know how the original tracks for instance look in the finished GT5? You happen to have some HQ video footage floating around?

*plonk*

how is this different from GT5:P (driver's movements aside)?

Same ole uncannycalleyic, unrealistic Gran Turismo.

PD better not rush out of the door the damage system and the online this time around if they want to keep making games...

Yeah because being similar to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is a bad thing... :ill:

Face it, Prologue gave us much more than every other console racer on the market (besides Forza 3).

People are still looking for miracles from Polyphony Digital. :indiff:

Yet another newbie complaining. I swear, that's all a majority of newbs do here anymore. They sign up, then start complaining. :dunce:

It does looks like PD really put the "real life track" into the game but as others mentioned, PD stunning graphics is always sterile.
I mean, in terms of the "atmosphere" the driver is feeling, it always the track+field+background are very clean like they've just been polished+vax and colors are bright & shine.
When you look at other games, (which mostly is not as good graphics as PD) you most certainly feel the game is "warmer" and you feel like you are in the game, while in GT series it feels bit "far" away.
(It's hard for me to explain this but I do hope that I expressed my self well.)

Quite honestly, what more was there to add? A single track time trial demo, what is missing? Machine guns?

It's a demo with the new physics engine. I can't really think of much more to ask for. I'll probably be driving it for months.

Haha, you really think that GT5 is going to look significantly different/better in terms of its environments and track detail?! We'll see who is the plonk when it releases. Talk about you lot being brainwashed by what is fed to you.
