Two more days and we can all answer all our own questions. This is one of those times I wish I chose journalism as my major in college :sly:

Believe it or not, there are stereotypes in this world, but sure that does not make it a good or bad thing... here is a definition so please people shut up about it and talk about the demo
A stereotype is a commonly held public belief about specific social groups, or types of individuals. The concepts of "stereotype" and "prejudice" are often confused with many other different meanings. Stereotypes are standardized and simplified conceptions of groups, based on some prior assumptions.

Stereotypes are created based on some idea of abstract familiarity. For example, the same behavior or trait being repeatedly observed by multiple witnesses over an extended period of time. For a stereotype to develop and 'stick' in the popular imagination, a stereotype cannot be completely false, and must have an element of social recognition.

A stereotype can be deemed 'positive', or 'negative'. Concepts of stereotype are rarely invoked in instances of positive stereotypes being held about a group. The moniker 'stereotype' is more likely to be deployed in relation to stereotypes deemed to be negative.

I don't think when GT5 is released we are going to see a step up from the graphics of the spectators and the general look of everything else.

The game should of come out this year - the longer it takes to come out the higher the expectations we and the games testers who write reviews will have.

If the delay is due to a large number of Americans who have requested damage then they deserve all the flak we can through at them.

(Only Joking)

If Gt5 is great when it comes out and stands head and shoulders above the competition then all good but if not then PD really need to re-evaluate how they do things.

Finger crossed that when the game does come out it exceeds all our expectations.

What's wrong with wanting damage? I want it... but then again... I'm not turning it off :sly:

Oh, and I'm not american either :sly:

You say you are competitive with the controller, if we were able to compete and if you got in would they let you still play round with the controller or do you think they would make you switch to a wheel?

After a couple sessions, I would hope so. I do track days in real life so I would probably pick up on it pretty quick. Here's a video of me using the controller for reference:

I'm confused about Alba's comments in regards to the demo and the G25. Did he say the clutch on the G25 doesn't work in the demo?

Thats what I read, seems clutch wont work.

Since this is COMPETITION Time Trial, I think PD wants to give everyone same SHIFT speeds because in Prologue, you could shift faster with Clutch then with sequential. I think they will just wanna make it fair for everyone.

Nowhere did it say all Americans, so why are you getting all wound up about it?

--Joke starts---
Yes most americans do not even know what a stick shift looks like . What was that stereo... mono...aa what a hell i go to read some gun magazines. Just kidding.. i only watch the pictures.
--Joke ends---

Why on earth people are so angry about everything nowdays? It is almost Christmas so let's try to be nice and not take everything seriously.

Here is some gnomes for all of you :) :sly:  :dopey:

I just bought a wheel and I must say this is a whole different game. You can get away with many wrong habits with the controller that the wheel won't allow you to. For example, it's quite easier to spin since it's a lot harder to counter-steer with the wheel than it is to move the analog stick. It's also easier to spin because it's faster to pull you finger from the accelerate button, than it is to pull it from the pedal.

Well bottom line, there are quite a few things to get used to. I don't do track days however :dopey:

That sounds reasonable I guess. :scared:

That's good news for me since my Fanatec H-pattern shifter doesn't work any longer  And my DFGT doesn't have a clutch of course.

I was worried that I was going to have to order a G25/27 jut be competitive for this TT, but luckily that doesn't look to be the case :) 👍

You can't activate the clutch at all in the demo :embarrassed:

What wheel did you get?

Personally it took me about a good three weeks to get used to a wheel. I almost tossed it across the room a few times though....good times. :sly:

PD really do need to come up with some more original menu designs and accompanying sounds. It really makes the game feel dated, despite being a recent version.
No they don't and it doesn't.
Yes they do and it does.
I was just about to say that it seems like craste invited his best friend over here. It's a good thing we have such objective unopinionated folk joining the family. ;)

Menus are fine.

The 370Z model in FW3 is wrong, by the way, has nothing to do with camera technique. It's unrealistically stumpy.

Anyhow, I'd have to say that despite the nitpicky details, this is really looking like one heck of a taste of GT5. Fortunately, I have plenty to occupy myself with until Thursday.

Bought a G25. I'm loving it too much to be mad at it for the bad lap times :D

Totally reasonable for fairness, though I would have loved to been able to use the clutch in the demo, if only to boot around.

Are you the same Alba from Gaf? I'm assuming you are and just wanted to say hello from Firewire.

Exactly, what gives? No one likes stock cars anymore? the stock Z will be my first choice in the demo.

That's good news for me since my Fanatec H-pattern shifter doesn't work any longer  And my DFGT doesn't have a clutch of course.

Oh heck, I hope FANATEC RS will work. I do not feel like taking out my G25 from the closet again. and reconfiguring everything

Thanks Alba for your contributions, Getting rather fed up about reading trolling posts about Americans. Stop fighting for no reason.

Yes i'm alba on GAF too ;)

Alba tell us what else is there in the OPTIONS menus, all videos only show top of the options.

It's pretty much the same as Prologue except for some new filters for graphics display and the ability to use the new map options they added (which is an awesome addition) where you can select how zoomed in the track map in (from 0 to 250m) & it can be displayed in a static way and dynamic so you always have it view from your can angle to be vertical.

Sorry, I can't answer more questions since I just desactivated the demo since my friend was just letting me try for a few hours but it seems to have a 24 hour lock down just like gt5p had so he's kinda screwed since the press demo expires tonight at midnight ^^

Otherwise this would have happened ........

And if you click through to youtube you can see the piece of equipment the guy used to do it.

Kinda like card counting in Vegas, it's not cheating yet not allowed.
It still kinda sucks, because in real life you have to use the clutch in most vehicle, yet in GT (the real driving simulator) it's not allowed.
I understand that some of us can't afford wheel with clutch but it's not fair to exclude clutch. For ex: you go to a race and your budget can only afford a stock Nissan 370Z and your competitor can afford to put all kind of performance parts in it, are they gonna kick him out of the race?

Trust me, that is not why Vegas won't allow card counting.

In this case though it is about not giving an advantage to people just because those people have an extra two or three hundred dollars to spend. It probably avoids any kind of lawsuits too.
