What I am worried about is, did they show the best and hide the rest? Maybe this standard cars and tracks are really that bad that they won´t to show it to the public... Maybe they are worried about the sales if they show the standards and people get dissapointed...

I really hope they got some surprises for us... I mean, ok good for PD to make their dream car together with Red Bull Racing... But For me, I don´t care about one single car that much... I´ve also driven the Citroen PD car only 1 time... It´s really great for PD but for me, it would be better if they invest their time in the game and not in the X1 car (real, not game)... I don´t know how many millions PD invest in that X1 but for me, it would be better when they invest that millions into an Porsche license... I don´t think Porsche is EA exclusive, so many games have porsche in it...

F1 2010 has many bugs but if they can fix them, it will be a game wich will be playable for at least 1 year... (online fun in private races!)

I am pretty sure there is nothing known as standard tracks. Obviously no one will like to drive a supercar on a rally stage but surely there will be an option to race any car on any track.

The now gone Red Bull trailer showed standard cars and a couple of "standard tracks" (same as in GT4/PSP, only with upscaled resolution): El Capitan, Ice Arena, Chamonix (GT4/PSP version).

What tires that can be purchased will be one the main limiting factor on which tracks you can race on.
^^^ Me too there aren't no standard tracks we have never seen them ever!
Given the high number or courses & the precedent set by PD using standard cars, the likelihood of using GT4 assets is very great.
:)

its good tactic older tracks will be seen hd resolution. To do that makes save time and money.
New Tracks looking spectacular, Especially Monza, Eiger Nordwand Madrid Roma NEw Nurburgring 24 Layout, everything seems above standard, I m not complaning about that. its only annoying thing 4 weeks left to release but we still dont know what other tracks features. If Spa isnt in I will be so sad. We have proof pic that they worked. Maybe DLC or GT6 . Cmon PD prepare for us something big info . Cant wait to see Grand Valley Speedway HD Apriocot hill Raceway and Deep Forest and Rally circuits gameplay videos.

Same here. I'm perfectly happy to have Standard tracks alongside the Premiums. You can never have enough tracks in a racing game. But... with the Track Creator, maybe this is one issue we'll never have to discuss again! :D

I will be very surprised if spa isnt in because we have seen alot of evidence that it will be. Including the travel sticker and Jordan's reliable informer saying the TT demo was either Indianapolis or Spa a while before it came out.

Also: Spa appearing in the GT5P weather screen and on a that track reference material list on the 3-part Nurburgring video in the official site: http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/6092/tracksjjpn.jpg

Track Creator will be larger than GT5s in GT6. you can say unlimited tracks like Modnation Racers.
I like your avatar . Its one of my favourite cars in GT3-4

honestly I'm less concerned with standard tracks than standard cars, as long as we still get lots of tarmac to drive on I'll be happy as a clam. Plus what really matter is that we get more tracks.

on a slightly off topic note, I wonder if the track editor is robust enough to recreate some mario kart tracks. Should make for great fun with GT5's karts.

There seems to be some negativity setting in here....in one month we are getting a game that has 1000 cars and possibly over 50 tracks, with new elements like damage, weather, course creator, etc. It would be nice to have all the tracks/cars we want, but I'm grateful for what we will get. One longgg month....31 days.... :)

I forgot about these two! Ok, in my mind it's pretty obvious it's it :D.

Thats what my kids would be like, all neglected dust-bowl depression look with the eyes of predators from hunting small mice and squirrels for sustenance, drinking breast milk from an overly maternal street cat, just a post-apocalyptic micro-MadMax existence.

All recollection of a previously technologically enriched life forgotten as they adapt to playing with sticks and rocks and the long forgotten"imagination", eventually banding with other nearby neglected-child-clans from other people on your block who got GT5.

They eventually take over the streets, and change the currency from dollars to Swedish Berries, non sour, and setup boobie traps for unwitting trespassers, which is just as well because everyone is still indoors with sweaty tight grips on their G25\27s doing night laps of the Ring in the rain in the middle of the day curtains closed as every inch of direct sunlight is blocked in an attempt to add further immersion to the game.

Just all out hell.

You're basically describing my home town in uncanny accurate detail as it already exists that way without GT5, hopefully when GT5 releases it will become slightly more bearable or at least I don't have to witness it as often as I do now.
GT5 to some is an accurate simulation of real life, to me it's a glimpse of a long promised future that never arrived.
All this talk of hybrids is purely science fiction to me when the internal combustion engine is only reluctantly accepted by a minority whilst something which moves by itself without any form of animal attached to it is still greeted with suspicion and outright fear by most.
One thing is certain, we'll be getting GT5 long before 2010 will arrive.

Why are everybody except me so focused on Spa? I have driven it in F1 2010 and I fail to see what makes it a must for GT5. It surely is a nice track and I would like to see it in GT5 but I sense some kind of obsession towards it on these boards. :odd:

That doesn't mean anything. Suzuka, Fuji and many other tracks from GT4 will be there in GT5 as well.

Also I think it is misleading to go by such demo and videos because all the times they have shown 8 cars on track

Not only these boards,
F1 pilots in love with SPA.
Lots of drivers love it.
Thats so different to see f1 2010 official game.
Bathurst in Grid but Grid physics ruined to Bathurst. Same situation with F1 2010.
SPA + GT5 Quality= ALWAYS WIN.

Maybe the tracks shown where only designed to hold 8 cars. For example, some (I think all) of the Rally stages would only hold 2 cars. However, in the BestBuy/Kiosk demo, there is Indianapolis Speedway (sp?) which, by logical means would hold 16 cars, for NASCAR purposes. Strange though, perhaps they are older builds, and they haven't (or hadn't) found a way to have all 16 cars on screen without lag or something.

Narrow or City tracks up to 8-12 .Race tracks up to 16.

Didn't they just sign a new exclusivity contract?

It's not something I'd heard anything about, and it would astonish me if they would given that the lack of actual exclusivity means they're effectively delegating all their video game licensing to EA - something that perhaps made sense in 1994 but doesn't in 2010 - but perhaps they have.

I'd be interested to read any sources of that info, if only in the hope of understanding why Porsche would consider such a move.

Edit:

Umm,... okay.. :dunce:

Read the rest of his post again.

It still says "20 tracks" when we know there will be more than 20. What's with the course count changing all the time or being different on every web page? lol. It's too confusing, PD/Sony should just come out and tell us once and for all how many tracks the game will have.

Not to mention all tracks on demos so far have been labelled with premium.

I understand the reason for only including them in demos, but for newcomers the tactic might be counterproductive.

Dont be because PD will not disclose every track and car for that matter before realease.

I'm starting to get a little afraid that we have - or at least i have hyped myself/ourselves to much these past few years. So much that it cannot live up to the expectations no matter what.

I feel that way too from time to time.

What bothers me is all the vagueness surrounding GT5 - the absolutely nonsensical way PD has gone about it's answers during interviews and the purposeful secrecy that is still lasting to this very day about just exactly what features and how many tracks are going to be included in the final, retail build of GT5. Also is the weather issue - about it being dynamic only on a select number of tracks. What about static weather randomly generated for regular races? They don't ever talk about that either. :nervous:

It's those things that make me worry. But I hope for the best - it's all we can do. :indiff:
