So stoked!!! I am just going to go to walmart because no one ever goes there for games so I don't think they will be sold out. I was just wondering if it is going to be hard to get a copy. I hope they are not sold out every where.
 
There was a patch.

"I think the 1.01 opened the online portion of the game yay

after installing the patch I can now navigate the GTTV too

Also at the start of the game before playing it asked me wither or not I want to install the game, easier for noobs instead of searching for it in the options menus.

Im gonna see what else is there in that patch."

So you missed the football game on sunday then? From what I hear, that was when they were airing it. Also, since when has GT really had aggressive promotion on TV? Don't really recall any of them having so much hype so close to release.

depends which station they aired it on. Im a huge cowboys fan, so I was watching Fox from 1200-1500. Switched over to CBS to watch colts/patriots at 1500. We had about 20 friends over for a Thanksgiving type meal, so I only caught the first half of that game. Wasnt really paying attention to commercials.
 
Anyone got the US collector's edition yet? Is the game in the same case as the standard edition? Does it have "Not for resale" on it or in anyway differentiated from a standard edition?

If they are both the same, I'm going to pick up a standard edition on Wed if my CE isn't ready and then return the sealed game in CE whenever it arrives. I'm not waiting for Friday or the next week to pick up my game. Man...I would've avoided EB/GS like the plague, but they were the only ones that have CE in Canada...:grumpy:

Umm FYI guys... All of the Toys R Us in southern Ontario already have their shipments (since Thursday, November 18). I'm pretty sure Wal-mart got them too.

Just go elsewhere and refund your EB games pre-order if you have one. Unless you pre-ordered the CE. I know Toys R Us does not have them, and will not be carrying them (referring to the CE).

PS. Don't quote me 100% on the Toys R Us CE thing. There could always be surprise shipments no one knows about.

Please say it ain't so. I'm going to call up my eb store tomorrow and see what's what. I will report back here tomorrow.
 
Game Stop locations in Rochester Hills, MI have received their shipments along with a stern reminder of what one can expect for releasing copies to the public before November 24th.
 
I'm still debating whether or not to pick up that Prima strategy guide at GS during the midnight launch... I mean generally I learn how to take on the track, but I'm also participating in GT Academy soon and I don't know crap about the tuning and settings.

I would be careful about buying a prima guide, The one for GT4 had some stuff missing, Some manufactures were not even listed. Just be careful with it. :)

I would venture to guess that GT Academy will use a common car across the board and prohibit adjustments to make sure the competition emphasizes driving ability and not engineering/tuning knowhow.
 
i now my gamestop has them , One person said you can pick it up tommorow but the guy next to him said no we cant release it till Wednesday. I was taking back my pre order and going to target because they would have it on wednesday, and gamestop said friday but that has change now

It asked me to accept new conditions : there were things about playstation store and online content. I noticed that GT TV is on and there is a few free videos available.

The disc may be shipped without online content enabled, and then the patch enables it.

Is there a place where we can have details about the content of the update?

Okay, i can't believe nobody has picked up on this, but it will most definitely (please God) end all the bickering here about damage. Here is the official trophy list from ps3trophies.com

Now, scroll down to the bottom of the list to where the hidden trophies are "SPOILER ALERT", here there is some certainly exciting and curiosity inducing trophies. However, the point of my post is the description of two trophies in particular, which state "total your car by flipping it over" and the other, "make a part of your car fall off while driving."

So the mystery of unlocking better damage is now confirmed to be true 👍 :dopey: ,

1) What is the "Level x" about? Do we earn experience as we race or what? I thought that was only in B-Spec mode.

2) Would anyone be willing to record a direct feed for the countdown clock at gran-turismo.com? I'll be at work at this time and I just want to see what happens when it hits all zeros. Plus it would be a nice momento for the years we all have been waiting.

Yeah, from what tekkan, amar and RDK were saying, they're copies didn't have any online stuff enabled when they got the game. Sounds like they've unlocked the online stuff with the updates. But, considering it's a 1.33 update, I suspect it also fixes a few bugs, as well.
