I don't think it's done already, because of that quote:

?Actually, I think that March would?ve been too early. We could have produced the game in time to make that deadline, but the finished product wouldn?t have had everything that I wanted to include.?

I think they are implementing those last features Kaz wants to see in the game ...and of course polishing everything up.

Have you ever thought that Sony might have told Kaz to said that? And i wouldn't doubt it could have been released in March, had Sony wanted to!
Like i have said before Sony is using GT5 and the PS3 to try and sell there 3D TV's, and that is my opinion on the subject!

Based on "that Sony" meeting, where they express frustration at GT5 not being done. My money is on Kaz having no concept of when "enough is enough". I also think other games have shocked PD into revising many aspects of the game. Regardless, Kaz is responsible in my opinion.

I just hope there are a ton of tracks to tackle. I couldn't care less about 1000 cars, of which I'm sure we will all be driving 25% tops. Hope I'm wrong on all counts.

This.

If PD were in control of when a GT title were released, it'd be a loooong wait. Better yet, an even longer wait. I think GT5 is a pretty good example of it. Aside from other things that have led to a "delay", like 3D, I think they'd (PD) continue to add stuff until KY thought "Enough". Which isn't easy.

All you have to do is analyze his quotes. He's a smart man, a passionate man (perhaps eccentric). But it's too easy for him to get so involved. Very much a child in a man's body; where time is...let us say....irrelevant.

If we see this game in 2011 everything Sony/PD says cannot be trusted.

Absolutely. Who knows what they may be up to. Plotting war with Greece, destabilizing a small 3rd world country. Where does it end?

Seriously though, don't you think you're being a bit rash?

It's a good game, but it's just that... a game.

;)

They don't have Porsche, not for GT5. This has been covered many a time and has been confirmed both by Porsche and recently by Kazunori himself. The Nurburgring 24hr race is sponsored by Gran Turismo so the cars all have Gran Turismo banners on them. Besides, PD sponsoring a racing team doesn't indicate that the cars that team choose to use will be in the game, it's just advertising and publicity. If a GT5 commercial comes on TV during the break in a Porsche cup race for example, that doesn't mean the Porsche cup is in GT5.

I thought that the license is almost up with and that Kaz said they are hoping for a few more cars or something in. Maybe it's just a matter of time before they can implement it?

You must credit KY in his manufacturer quest. He's gotten McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bugatti. Though I believe we'll see 2-5 other new manufacturers, I'd be pretty damn satisfied with just those new ones.

Time will tell, though. So Porsche isn't necessary at all for GT5 to be fun. If anything, I look forward to RUF. And very much so.

Well yeah, of course, I'll love the game (if it's good that is) regardless of if it has it or not. I'm just not sure that EA will keep throwing money at it. Yeah, they have the NFS series, but Forza 3 had Porsche, and Forza has nothing to do with EA. So that was a sub-license or maybe a sign that the license has ended.

I just thought last night about performance of GT and 3D.I completely forgot that game uses *antialising* - they just can drop down resolution (maybe to 960x720) AND antialiasing - i belive this alone can increase performance by twice, even without optimizations. (i think!)
Again - i really believe they striving for 60fps. (for each eye)

It's interesting - would game allow anaglyphic stereo? There's no need to increase FPS.Just two images.Would be very nice if game will support all kinds of stereoscopic 3D

You know, Kaz has a position on the Sony board, as well as being in charge of PD....
So Kaz has lots of leeway :)

Polyphony Digital president and Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has been promoted to an executive of SCE, and he's been given a new title: corporate executive in charge of Polyphony Digital.

Kazunori Yamauchi: The change may not be huge, but there is in fact a change to my day to day activities. Previously, I was 100% in charge of Polyphony and that was all I had to worry about, but currently maybe 30% of my day to day activities represent SCE corporate or overall PlayStation business planning or strategies -- things like that.

You would have to think he is aware of what Sony is doing and planning....

GT does not just represent PD, but also Sony and PS3 as a whole, so they have a lot more responsibility and workload than your typical game developer. And is an intergral part of the PS3 marketing strategy and such. The PS3 is literally made for GT, and vice versa! A bit more than just a first party game IMO

Whoa there now, let's not get out of hand :P
I dont think anyone will agree that the PS3 was literally made for GT

It is by far the biggest selling PS3 exclusive, Sony made game franchise, that also happens to be run and created by a Sony exec

Without GT, the PS would not be where it is today....

Uhhhhhh....Greeeee.... Agree.:bowdown::bowdown:

This kind of thing has been declared before by reps at GT5 demos so it is extremely unlikely there is any truth behind it as PD and Sony are hardly going to announce the release date in this way. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of this kind of thing until PD confirm anything so just remember not to get too excited ;)

Gran Turismo 5: “June/July”

It’s like, September, and Kaz is angry. Except by then, he’ll have probably calmed down because this morning we’ve been told that Gran Turismo 5 currently has a “June/July” release window. By whom, you ask? Well, this isn’t something official – we’ve not been on the phone with Sony since – ooh – last week and there’s still no official release date for the game. Disclaimer over – let’s get down to the goodies. Sony’s been demoing their new 3D tech for months now, and the various versions of Polyphony’s upcoming racing sim have seen the light of day all over the world. The latest? Holland, where TheSixthAxis reader Radboud got his hands on with the incredible looking game, in 3D, and was told by the guy doing the demo that “June/July” was the intended release date. Radboud assured us he double and triple checked. June/July. Nice. Sony’s been reluctant to put forward a locked down, official release date for the game since it was announced, but perhaps, just perhaps, they ’re saving something rather special for E3 this year. Regardless, although the rep showing off the game was apparently sure of the summer window, we do have to repeat that this isn’t coming from Sony HQ and thus absolutely isn’t official. Still, nice to dream, right? Where’s my wheel?

Gran Turismo 5 Very limited edition on the way. The package including race helmet will deliver unmatched driving experience,This is the perfection everyone talks about.

my idea is to create the helmets with visor also active for the internal Dolby Digital 3D headphone and microphone Bluetooth hours now that I think is a fairy tale
