Interesting video Jordan. 👍

It does appear to be wind effecting the dynamic particles. It also does it at 1:50 in the same direction. Though, if it was weather it would seem like there would be notification of wind velocity before the race.

But if wind is in, then it definitely bodes well for full weather implementation. 👍

By the way is this game conference going on right now?

The thing about wind is similar to skidmarks. They both have an effect on the driving. Skidmarks laying down rubber changing the grip level of the track (not to mention the marbles out side the racing line getting worse as time goes on) and wind sometimes buffeting the car around. I've heard the NASCAR guys talk about how even at Daytona speeds the car can be knocked around pretty good by gusting winds going down the back stretch. That's gotta be scary as 🤬 having the car lurch sideways at 190+. I have a "72 VW bus and that's hairy enough just at freeway speeds.

Yesterday, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, I asked at the Alfa Romeo stand whether the new and beautiful Giulietta will be in GT5. All I got back was that they "are not at liberty to disclose that information". I'm just not sure whether to translate that into a "yes" or "we've got no idea what you are talking about" :) :grumpy:

Ok, no one mentioned the Brittney Spears playing in the background?

The wind almost looks like a glitch to me. Almost like they quickly threw together the latest build and didn't have time to iron out the kinks. It's just too brisk of a wind, but we shall see.

I still get really excited every time I see the new AI contact-dynamic though! Is it just me, or does a Corvette always seem to be a victim in all these clips?

I'd gone back and watched the video again and that struck me too. I know that no racing game I'm aware of has wind affecting the environment much at all, but GT5 is so darn realistic looking, I think they should keep winds down to 15mph or less, maybe 10. Anything more than that would look wrong, at least for courses with trees by the trackside.

And it's nice that a number of us have commented on how unrealistic cockpit view is. Frankly, the best view I've seen in a racing game in Toca 3's, and that only had a black frame from inside the car, even closer to the windshield than in GT PSP.

Grid has wind, subtle, but wind effects none the less.

Ultimate Edition= The Three Disc News from earlier on. The box is exactly the same. And on granturismo.com the cover art for the collector edition is the same as the regular game. So there you have it.

Just finished making this video earlier today. I started hearing the Wavin' Flag song a lot and thought I'd mix it with a bunch of GT5 trailer footage and other videos, and the end result is pretty cool IMO. Enjoy.

This video is serious! Great job man basically shows us everything about GT5 (except standard cars.) The ending was the best part well done my friend 👍

"Most importantly, the GT5 designers have achieved an effect that is still very rare in car simulators: In most games, you will perceive cars as floating on a surface. You will have to look very closely in GT and be very picky in order to get this sense in this game. This is one of the first games I have played in which I see cars actually “sitting” on the road surface. In my opinion, this is one of the most important improvements over GT4 in terms of useful graphics."

This is what I always trying to say!
(and Forza do not have this, but GT4 has)

Amazing, no other word for it. You just got me even more hyped for GT5 👍

No offense to the maker of this video, but I'm struggling to tell whether people admiring it are being sarcastic or not.

That is a terrible video. **sarcasm**

No, actually its pretty freaking awesome and really well done. 👍-to the creator.

Mad props to Conquerer for making that video. Really, truly is amazing, and the music is awesome. It just makes GT seem like more than just a video game. Very well done my friend 👍👍

Sorry then. The video transitions and all were great, but I'm sorry. The music was quite un-fitting, in my opinion.

ultimate edition huh, thats pretty pricey even for gt5... I do hope its not a version of the game with features on it like the track editor or customising... because then people playing the standard retail gt5 will feel cheated... what Im hoping is stuff like key rings, books, manuals, and maybe a real track day thrown in. but simply the game and dlc for that money is madness...

Yeah, I have to second that. Great video, but an odd non-GT-like music track. But never mind me, I'm as picky over music as some of you over engine sounds. ;)

Standard editions of games never have gameplay elements withheld, to my knowledge. And Kaz, of all people, wants everyone to enjoy all that GT5 has to offer.
