i apologised in advance for posting a picture of every request.i did that partly because i was took by an obsessive drive to present my wishes as better as i could and partly because it was my first post and...well i don't think it's such a big deal.although if you feel offended or you are not very comfortable with the page due to the amount of pictures i uploaded let me know and i will solve that problem..!

You can edit and remove the pictures or at least bring them down to thumbnail size. Its just really annoying and takes up half the page, I'm not offended by it, just a bit OCD about straightforward direction following.

Over 2,000 posts later, I'm sure I have nothing unique to contribute, but here it is anyway.

The game needs Porsche, badly. The absence of one of the greatest sportscar manufacturers of all time is a sore spot in Gran Turismo. Ruf simply is not good enough.

Which Porsches, though? IMO, this would be a good start. :)

Don't forget the Porsche 917.;)
I forgot a significant Porsche? How embarrassing! :D
(In truth, I'm not too good with the older racecars, so I was consulting this. I kinda felt I was already on Porsche overload, so I tried to restrict myself to ones that had won Le Mans three or more times. :) )

I was also going to include some Ferrari roadcars that I feel GT is lacking (e.g., the 360 Modena or the 288 GTO), but the Porsche list was rather exhausting. I might edit it later... for all the good it will do. :)

I haven't seen Porsche's in any car based game ever. I don't think they even give licensing permissions. But who knows, GT is near-legendary.

And if the Porsche list exceeds the Skyline list then is wont happen. :)

Seriously? Have you not seen any EA games over the last 15+ years, or even Forza games? That is why you don't see them in many other games though, EA have exclusive licensing which they occasionally sub-license to other games, like Forza.

Need for Speed used to have exclusive rights to Porsche IIRC (the best example being Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed). But Project Gotham Racing series and Forza Motorsports series both have had Porsche more recently (both on Xbox and XB360). Just because Gran Turismo hasn't ever had it doesn't mean that it's not an option. :)

I assume you were referring to the Porsche 911 specifically, since the Skyline is a model not a make. ;) But, yeah, their obsession with the Skyline in particular and Japanese cars in general reeks of insular Japanese nationalism. The Porsche 911 is far, far more significant a car in sportscar history than the Skyline has ever been. The Ruf substitutes were okay back when no one but NFS could have Porsche, but they just don't cut it anymore.

If I had to pare my Porsche list down somewhat, I'd still like to see these at least:

  1. 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS
  2. 1975 Porsche (911) 930 Turbo
  3. 1990 Porsche 911 (Type 964) Turbo
  4. 1999 Porsche 911 (Type 996) GT3 (a personal favorite of mine)
  5. 2000 Porsche Boxster S (Type 986)
  6. 2005 Porsche 911 (Type 997) Turbo
  7. 2012 Porsche Boxster S (Type 981) PDK
  8. 2012 Porsche 911 (Type 991) Carrera S PDK
There are probably a lot of people who'd rather see the Type 993 911 Turbo than the 964, but this is my list. :) (And it pains me to leave off so many good models of the 911.)

And since I mentioned the '99 911 GT3, here's a pic, since I haven't included any:

(Decent gallery here.)

You're all right, I completely forgot about NFS (even though I have 5 of them), and have never played Forza. But have you seen the Skyline's in this game, it's ridiculous, and even though it is a make, if any list of cars exceeds it, it will be changed. They are mental about their Skylines. Its absurd. I think the 911's need to added, along with the 959. Sorry, I am not a Porsche enthusiast, I specialize in American cars, specifically classic muscle. Which is why I'm watching this lot in the Barrett Jackson auction. Oh look... '70 Judge GTO- $59,000. '69 was better. Lets get some more American Muscle: 1969 Judge GTO, that;s all I'm asking for, because the list can go, on and on and on and on so I'll keep it simple.

If they can't get Porsche then they could at least get more RUF Models outside of the ones that first appeared on GT2. Or, more tuner companies such that models like the Carrera GT and 928 are included. I just haven't cared for RUF in GT5, simply because it was a cut-and-paste job from GT4. Pathetic.

Also needs more Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Such a big deal was made about their inclusion, and it was a bit of a disappointment that the focus of Ferrari's inclusion especially was their post-2000 models, which aren't the nicest cars to look at by any means. Loads of classics left out.

MG's classics could also be explored, such as the MGB GT and others. They are popular club cars, and I suspect that Codemasters has the license to more recent MG vehicles anyway.

MGB_GT.JPG

The type of car which would compliment a livery editor very well. I feel the MGB Roadster was an influence when Mazda was originally conceiving the MX-5.
