So far all academy demos got released on the normal PSN store update days. A couple years ago the updates were thursdays, maybe this is what you meant.

Sometimes a game/demo WILL be added to the store on a particular date regardless of the PS Store update date. It happened with Tiger Woods 14 (hardly a highly sought after title) and the Call of Duty DLC's if i'm not much mistaken.

The 2013 GT Academy competition will get under way at 0900BST (1000CET) on Tuesday, 2nd July on an exclusive downloadable demo of the new Gran Turismo®6 game for PlayStation®3.

Besides, GT 2012 demo was also made available on 1st May 2012, which was also Tuesday.

NA JULY 2nd: *click*


European stores do always update wednesdays and the NA stores tuesdays.

It's probably because it's not just a demo. It's a way to enter the GT Academy so it's only fair to release it to everyone at the same time. Can you imagine the amount of rage threads posted on here because the US got an extra day of practice?

Hypothetically speaking, it wouldn't matter if they released on different days because each of those competitions are restricted to their respective areas and therefore not connected.

NOTE: For lack of a better word, that might come off as favoritism to the country which had to wait. I think it will be released Tuesday.
