The London race I just done a time of 5:20.002 and I am just about to post it until I saw your picture so I am not going to post it now, so I have to make up another 4 seconds. Good time .

@Vic Reign93 - well done, Sir.

You have truly proved yourself to be Master of the Game.

When MustangManiac first came up with that phenomenal close shave at Daytona, I realised that it was possible (for any Master Gamer, of course) to beat that time with patience, judgement, and acute skill - since Diez was directly behind MustangManiac, making it possible to get a closer shave if second place was actually nose-to-nose with the Player; an accomplishment that could be engineered by only the very best gamers.

It is with much pride I associate with the top gamers who take part in these challenges, and I'm honoured to be permitted to organise and present these challenges.

Once again - stupendous job . . . and I'm looking forwards to many such mind-boggling events to take place. :)

Oh please, you give me too much credit. :P

But i'll happily take the compliment.

I do have a funny question which cropped up whilst I was racing at Daytona. In the rare event that someone gets a 0.000 time difference but is declared the winner by the game, would that be considered an automatic win for that kind of challenge for that person?

Speaking of challenges, I've bought a new Muria to prep for the Classic Triple Crown. :D

Here's my times for the Triple Crown Trophy as they stand.

If I've done the maths correctly, then my total time should be,

21:02.397. :D

Had a run at the Gullwing Commander. I'm not sure if this was for the fastest player time or the fastest rabbit time, but here is the fastest (so far) overall player time with Eisenhower finishing second.

Have you seen how the code for the events is written? pre established levels of different AI drivers characteristics:
"seems the ai drivers all have the same behaviour settings but the starting position has car boosting magic.

for this event 32 drivers listed all have the same ai settings which means the boost table must sort out where they finish in the race?

That's a good point to start examining the code - do you happen to have the data for the Daytona 24, too? Would be interesting to compare the two, too. How would the boost table be manipulated is the the next question, because it seems that the race pace is influenced by a set of parameters - what? Influenced by Player gaming data? And if so, what are the optimum parameters to be fed in? As well - does the AI deteriorate, or improve as the race goes on?
If the AI appear to be balanced out at a standard at the beginning of the race and maintain that standard then it is only the cars that would differentiate their overall behaviour and speed - for instance, the guy driving the Chromeline gullwing should be as fast as the guy driving the E-Type if given the pole, but would be only as fast as the 300 SL would be as per the simulation. Other than that, there is also the 'temperament' of the drivers to consider - are they programmed to be 'hot' or 'cold', as was the case with the B-Spec AI in GT5 - or are they all set at a median 'reactivity'?
I'm also finding that while in certain races the AI can be 'bland', in others they can be very 'aware' of the player's presence and will react accordingly.
More digging required? :)

The ultimate blocking teammate! An all Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupe '54 podium, 1-2-3 finish!
Yeah, yeah... I know that isn't part of the challenge, so please forgive me for spamming up this thread with my silliness.

I managed that, too - but, by gad, it was worse than herding a flock of seagulls!
My time was atrocious, though, somewhere in the high 12:00s, and I didn't even bother to record it, though I think I may have saved the replay.
It was great fun, though, and really brought out all my driving skills, especially in the battles with the leaders - because the game simulation isn't hampered by the sudden halt to the game after the first bang (which no doubt would happen IRL  ) you can afford to maximum duel with the AI - and they are pretty strong, too - so it's like a continual stitching together of rubbin'-is-racin', paint-trading, fender-benders, brake-blocking, apex--diving, side-swiping, sling-into-the-sand spinfest.
The 300 SL that MTM picked was a great car for this exercise - an immensely confident car - the first of the Mercedes-Benz Super Lights, and when a few performance enhancements are done - wow. Just a stallion that knows the range.
I'm so glad to hear you're having fun with this event.

Oh please, you give me too much credit. :P

But I'll happily take the compliment.

Well-deserved. Haven't raced you at COTW for weeks now, hope you guys are having fun - live rabbits!

I do have a funny question which cropped up whilst I was racing at Daytona. In the rare event that someone gets a 0.000 time difference but is declared the winner by the game, would that be considered an automatic win for that kind of challenge for that person?

Yes - if you mean if anyone came up with a time of 00:00:00, that would still be considered a 'close shave'. We don't see the rest of the zeroes posted, but the 'stewards' ;) calculate faster than thousandths of a second and know who got there first.
I think they work in gigahertz.:irked:

Speaking of challenges, I've bought a new Muria to prep for the Classic Triple Crown. :D

New? As in - another one? :boggled:

Had a run at the Gullwing Commander. I'm not sure if this was for the fastest player time or the fastest rabbit time, but here is the fastest (so far) overall player time with Eisenhower finishing second.

View attachment 314647

So back to the track for me again then (any excuse  ), yes - challenge is to get a one two Merc win, and be first, and be faster than all other Players.

What did you think of the car, MTM79? Did the 300 SL perform? How did you find the run at the Ring?

Yep, had too much money laying around so I thought, might as well.

Already got the results placed up from the triple crown, it's a beauty to drive. :D

The car is very predictable and easy to control. I had much fun sliding it through Silverstone.

For the Ring-ride my expectations were high since this was the car in which I have studied the Nurburgring for the first time. The car was better than what I hoped for. SS tyres make it a proper race car. I'm 15-20 seconds slower than Vic and nowayback though but they are fast at the Ring, respect for them. I'm happy with the car. Will take it as a regular ride.

A car very much ignored - haven't seen many of them around, yet such a great car to drive; stable, responsive, eager to please. Silverstone is a great track for drifting, as well as the run-offs are so wide it's almost like having a bit of 'free-roam'!

This car was made for the Ring. It feels more at home on the Ring, IMO, than most other cars, even modern cars - and I'm not talking about sheer speed through the Ring but the way the car dances through the Ring as well as how well the gearing works through the course; make it a real joy to drive.

I'll be updating the OP on Sunday with all the latest fastest times - and the SL is going to be quite highlit. :)

I saw a blue Miura and wondered - WTH?

Edit:
Looks green on another display. What color is it really?

It's a nice shade of lime green which I got off another Lamborghini if I recall correctly. Altough the original choice of paint I chose was Matte Dark Blue but changed my mind on it. :D

If that's what you can do disabled, I'd hate to see what you could do 'abled'!
Glad to see you explore this mission to the max - to me this is the the true beauty of the simulator; where we can use the cars on various missions/challenges/events that will utilise them in ways we would never dare do in real life.
Imagine T-boning an E-Type like that, so deftly, precisely, controlling the perfect momentum required to not let the E-Type get away till it is firmly planted in the sand, and you are on your way without missing a beat. Now take that imagination and replay it on a sim and one almost feels the whole experience.
These are driving experiences not readily available to us in real life, and to take an SL and put it through its maximum paces is not only entertaining but informative, to a degree, about what the car can, and cannot, do.
I was immensely satisfied with this car.

What are your thoughts on the AI once you went at them like this? Did you have to retry because they took you out bad? Did they become 'stronger' after the retries? Do you feel that they 'remember' you as aggressive and get more aggressive with you?

It sure was a lot of work to once again get a 1-2-3 finish with all three of the '54 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupes!

That's a better time than I did - however I grabbed 1st on the podium. :D

News, rumors, gossip - running rampant across the interwebz about the upcoming update - and, yes, to those of us who have dabbled in B-Spec since GT4, the news that B-Spec may actually turn out to be a reality in GT6 makes us sit up.
No doubt Jordan will have a B-Spec related sub-forum up and running soon and we can all shift over there - there's so much to discuss about, and do within, B-Spec, for those of us who are aficionados of the discipline. Whether it be Race Directing, Pit & Tuning management, Driver training, Livery and Gear presentation, Race-movie engineering, Code analysis . . . so much will be there to do (never mind getting the bots to grind!)
I'm hoping that in addition to being able to swap seats with the AI during pit-stops, that the online facility of remote racing will be back.
This will enable us to duel our drivers, which could be a whole different load of racing fun in itself.

I promised to update the OP on Sunday - but was unable due to the usual pressure of the RL work load; Oh! to have the time to play whenever one wants!
However - seems like we are going to have the usual fireworks display from PD tonight as they take down the current events and replace them with new ones - so it might be best to let everyone point to the final fastest standings they have thrown in here and I'll post the results up as I usually do - as a post on this page and as well as framed up on the Wall of Fame.
It's quite obvious at this time that Vic is a Time Traveller; best to keep an eye on his future.
His past doesn't matter - he could probably go back and change it. :dopey:

@ photonrider don't you mean tomorrow night?

My bad @nowayback, you're right - Wednesday night, the night we get to open our 'birthday' presents. :D
Whatever comes, I'm going to take it and try to enjoy it.

I look on these as 'gifthorses' - so I don't really look them in the mouth; we have had many things so far that were surprise gifts, however, the promised arrival of B-Spec (which was promised as a feature to be available in the game) is another thing altogether and is sure something I'm looking forward to.
I think I'm trying to hurry it up.

I'm not sure which is worse.... My physical or mental disability? You will have to ask the GT6 AI drivers!

As for how the AI drivers acted once I started pushing them around, it seemed that usually only one car got faster and more aggressive in each race that I drove like an idiot. It was usually that pesky AI driver of the Dome-Zero that took exception to my maniacal driving!

As for how Eisenhower acted when I pushed him too much, I created this animated GIF as proof of his anger with me! Is this how he acted when you pushed him too much? Is Eisenhower an angry drunk?

Eisenhower.gif

Eisenhower took me out once at the last corner and took the win.
Krueger is a lot slower in the regular SL, and trying to get him to go is tough. The quirks to this mission come from not having the other Merc drivers knowing you are on their side - the Player is like a secret super-hero.
So they'll try to take you out. I have also realised it's faster to 'pull' them, than 'push' them.
To add to the complexity one has to finish the race as fast as possible - slow down the leaders, let the team-mates get in front, then make sure everyone gets to the line fast.
Apart from that it's a lot of fun and a good excuse to explore Silverstone as well as a really great sports car.
I wanted to post a 'short-cut' challenge, too - but we are running out of time - so maybe on another occasion.
Has to be the kind of car a Track Marshall would use - or one of the Emergency Services. ;)

And SL Coupe, great at Nordschleife...but as always so nerve-racking course. Messed up the final 3 turns, but that's the beauty of it. 2015-02-25 21.16.57.jpg Still a few secs for me, if I can keep my fingers from sweating. always pause on last straight to dry them off :D .

Safe to say I've taken these two events back. :mischievous:
My new triple crown time is 20.47.595 if I got the maths right.

B-Spec is back!!

And how!

So much to discuss, and hoping we will have our own sub-forum soon so that the B-Spec-related threads are not all over the place - I have to go digging carefully within the Main GT6 Board in search of B-Spec focused discussions.
And that leads me to see other interesting threads that can be only too distracting.

I did the upload this afternoon; right away I see that the AI driver given to us is a 'doppelganger' - same name and all.
I wondered whether our own driving data stored in the 'Brain' would affect their make-up.
I decided to do a battery of tests, as well as 'coaching' him from the get-go - so instead of throwing him right away into an LM I gave him a Golf and took him to the Sunday Cup and worked upwards from there.
Quite a lot of info gained.
Right off the bat - yes, the driver settings affect the driver - SRF on or off, ABS/TCS on and off, and so on, all affect the AI driver - as well as the pace of the AI opponents.
Push Hard makes the entire field faster as opposed to My Own Pace.
So much other stuff, too to bring to the table.
I guess many of you are already doing your own tests or just outright having fun with your new AI team-mate.

I have just a few minutes here - but otherwise AFK, for the rest of the day - hope to return later to discuss more.
Lots of screenshots to analyse!

PS: yes, don't worry, I'll get on the damn Skyjack soon and fix the new Awards. :ouch:

I barely had time to test B-spec last night. Started driving the new seasonals and got caught up in the expert one. Very nice race, no matter what I drive.

I'm so annoyed that I have no real time to play - I missed the last big Seasonal at the Ring, and not having much time to apply myself this time either.
I did manage to grind out a new Challenge to start off this round:

Take the new VGT Mini to the Ring. Get your highest podium finish - doesn't matter how strong the field is.
If more than one person gets #1, then faster time wins.

Here's something to start with - I know you guys can clip 30 seconds off my time.
Good Luck!

IMG_4804_zpsrkdnxvev.jpg

I am preparing some other Challenges - please bear with my absence, hope to be back and with a stronger presence during the weekend.

I have a 'team-effort' challenge planned too - B-Spec Bob and the Player get together to challenge the rabbits - and the other teams - for a bigger gap between 1st and 2nd.

Details soon.
👍
