Will new tracks and cars be enough to temp the casual millions though?

To be honest, I will greatly depend on the reviews for the initial period.

On the long run, it will depend of the word of the community and late adopters.

Awright now a_jak, you're pickin' on the OTHER hero around here! I'm warnin' ya... :grumpy:👍

Looking at every GT6 comments are Negative... I don't see many people wanting GT6. I guess I'm the only one excited for GT6..
I need to post more often. I've been called The Last Gran Turismo Optimist. :D

Don't let the felgercarb get to you, and there is a lot of it around here, I know. The criticism is something that we actually need to keep Kaz and the team on their toes - the real stuff, not the crass, mean spirited junk. And I have a few friends on PSN who waved goodbye to GTP sadly, because of various unsavory tendencies from the people here. While I can't blame them, where else can you go to celebrate all things Gran Turismo with like minded people? Even when it seems we're in the minority...

Buck up and think British! :D

The Meister!

Forgive me! ! !!!

Honestly, I just watched "The Iceman" and it screwed me up. I hope that I don't get eliminated.

haha I just realized that I corrected his "grammar."

From, "ON the long run," to, "IN the long run."

In other words, ethomaz has an account on GTP? What the?

I am also excited to pick up GT6 on December 6-8th. But I don't post often either lol. :P Can't wait to drive that Z4 GT3 :) Although I do hope Ill be upgrading a cheapy first, 100 cr at a time :D

As a brazilian, i don't expect too much about this. Is a small event, i think that they won't bring some news here. Would be awesome if they do, though.

Same. If you expect any big news outside of E3, TGS or Gamescom you will be sorely disappointed. :)

While this may be true of Sao Paulo show, I can tell you right now that's the wrong idea to have in your head, moving forward.

Just to clear things out: the size of an area in a computer memory is solely related to the quantity of information needed to define it. It has no relation with the actual size it would represent in the real world it is projected to by a human.
"A blue square shape of 10 cm" = "A blue square shape of 10 km"
So any comparison with other type of games is irrelevant when trying to understand if PD technical limits are legitimate or not.
It is possible to do an infinite track on a PS3 (as it was on PS2). But it would bore everyone. So the object of design here is to balance acceptable track variation Vs size of the track area.

I've read in a message that only assets can be streamed from BD. You can stream what you want from BD, it's just that a meshe usually don't need to be streamed (but obviously a game like GTA V does it). In the particular case of Gran Turismo, i guess the game need the whole meshe in memory as it need to be able to compute car physics and AI at any point of the track at any given time.

PD needs a community manager, desperately.

It has THEM, many of them. You can find them on the official PS forums and PS blogs, as you could for past 5-6 years. There are also regional producers that often contribute to discussions there, as well as damn good official site with loads of information on more than 15 world languages.

However, if you expect some community forum persons that will exist and post on various non-official forums and such, that is not the Sony SCE company policy, so at this point ia it very unlikely to happen even for GT.

With so much negativity on this part of the forum, it's nice to read an article like that for a change. Gives a Little hope, and certainly makes you appreciate the Things that PD does extremely well. If only they'd improve in other areas.

Refrashing I say. ;) GTP gives me a headache with all the negativity in the fourms. >_<

That's why I posted it here. I found it a very nice article to read. No negative blah blah and just a sum of new features.

Regarding the new aero model, itll be interesting to see if its possible to pass an F1 car in corners. It may be easy offline but, I wonder online will a car be able to get close enough before the front washes out.

Just visited a local game show here in Vienna and they had a GT6-stand there. 4 pods with the gamescom-demo, 4 pods with the Goodwood-demo. The Goodwood-demo was used for a competition where you could win vouchers for GT6, sponsored by Nismo who were using it to promote the Nismo brand with this event. (Nissan GT-R GT3 was used in the competition)

And you know this for a fact or are you just shooting from the hip on this one? I tend to agree with SlipZtrEm on what he posted.

Interesting news that PD would put 8 pods at a local game show. Must be nice to see that!!!👍

It might be an old news but two weeks ago I was at Frankfurt Auto Show. They had that R8 LMS Gt5 simulator there and a bunch of GT6 demo rigs.

Regarding the Brazillian Game Show, I don't think South American market is among main targets of PD/Gt6. Just count how many tracks and cars from our region are in the game: zero.
