Is there any connection between the new Matterhorn track and the 3-4 colors that end with 'Matterhorn' when you buy the FT-86 G Sports Concept '10 from the Toyota dealership in GT5 ?

First Impressions: Taking Gran Turismo 6 for a Test Drive on PS3

GT6 is looking to be very good. 👍 Everyone assumes GT6 is what GT5 should've been (which is okay imo), because in ways; that's similar to GT1 & GT2, GT3 & GT4.

They summed up the problem with GT perfectly in this quote

Perennial problems such as the lack of a believable damage model, basic artificial intelligence, and a focus on the technical rather than the spectacle remain. But Gran Turismo has never been about the race: it has always been a franchise borne out of wanting to perfect the mechanical side of racing, and yet again, time trial mode is where the game excels.

They're both named after the mountain between Switzerland and Italy?

With the news that 360 wheels won't work for the Xbone and with that being probable for the PS4 as well, feel kind of glad now that GT6 is on the PS3. Atleast my G25 is a certainty to work.

I thought Sony stated that it was completely up to the developers whether PS3 wheels would work on PS4? Developers of the wheel needed to provide drivers that make the wheel compatible with the PS4.

The only reason for developers not to do this, is if they're out of the business. Hint - Logitech.

From my understanding only the T500RS has been confirmed as compatible, everything else is still not confirmed(could be wrong though)

Forza 5 has the potential to be a dream racing game. But this is typical MS marketing. In order for me to "jump in," I would have to buy
  • $500 - The ONE
  • $250 - a ONE compatible racing wheel (to be safe, could be more)
  • $80 - Forza 5 limited edition
  • $45 - A year of Live (I assume good for The ONE too - hee)
Minus any taxes, this totals

$875... ouch.

If GT6 had come out on PS4, the price would be
  • $400 - PS4
  • $60 - GT6 Anniversary Edition
  • $50 - a year of PSN Plus
Minus any taxes, this totals

$510... still kind of ouch, but that's quite a bit less. And unlike The ONE, I intend to buy quite a number of PS4 games, not just one.

What wheel do you currently use on the PS3 and how do you know its compatible with PS4?
I'd like to know.

I'll most likely be killed by you guys for saying this, but after Watch_Dogs being delayed to 2014, I wish that, for the best, GT6 is delayed (not a humongous delay but a reasonable delay just to add in all the improvements) for 2 reasons.

1) So we don't have to suffer a large day one patch or having engine sound improvements released later.
2) It gives Polyphony more time to iron out all those bugs, glitches and exploits, giving us a near-perfect game on launch.

This is my opinion so don't rip me to shreds for speaking what I feel like saying.

I would agree...but I dont given PDs history. With GT5 we were all saying, "Oh, its ok that they delay it a reasonable time if they iron out all those bugs and give us a near-perfect game on launch", and what did we got? We got a buggy, exploitable, poorly planned game that was a waste of magnificent technical resources given its poor packaging. And they took more than four years for that 👎.

Happy days then, makes my PS4 decision valid.

:)👍

I may have not been around for GT5 news back than, but that sounded really bad. That's why I really hope PD doesn't delay GT6 (well they can't now this time :sly:).

All wheels are said to be compatible with PS4. http://www.simdriving.net/news/all-ps3-compatible-wheels-to-work-on-ps4 EDIT: Ahh, I was too late. 0_0
After further digging around it appears to be only the Thrustmaster T500 that will work on PS4 at the moment. So I'm not sure what that article is about. As a Fanatec and G27 owner I'm pissed at Microsoft, not so much regarding the G27 but the Fanatec situation. Seems as though it's up to Sony and the wheel manufactures to get together and hopefully work something out. Hope they do. Source is via Amar on Neogaf btw. So it's credible.

Oh Edit, I suppose Tenacious owns a T500 or he has some other source or info.

I'm staying neutral so far in regards to GT6. I'm slightly hopeful (AUDIR18TDIAUDIR18TDIAUDIR18TDI!!!!! :dopey: ) but I'm also aware of not becoming too hopeful. I was one of the most excited for GT5 and awaited for it so damn eagerly...but I was bitterly disappointed so, lesson learnt.

Still, we know next to nothing about GT6s fundamentals so it's too early to tell. I just wish that PD delivers what they promised this time.

He's off again. Why are you talking about this (again) on the GT6 news thread?

I'm was surprised MS want ahead and did it, but to be honest I had that feeling they'll do something like that. My thoughts told me it was due to $$. I feel bad for you and others who bought the Fanatecs. :guilty:

Ahh okay. I hope PD makes up for it in GT6, because that really does sound disappointing having to wait for so long. :ill:

I get what you're saying, but there is one big problem here: the release of PS4.
Releasing GT6 on PS3 after the release of PS4 is already a bit risky, but they are early enough that it shouldn't be much of a problem. If they release later, sales may be seriously hurt by people that have already moved on to next-gen.

Do you happen to have a link to the source?
I own a G25 and am buying a PS4.

however I'm not so concirned about the wheel at the moment as GT6 is comming for PS3.
DC looks a bit to much like NFS for my liking.

Thanks for providing the link also kudos to amar.

Which brings me to the point that I'd rather GT6 is a PS3 game since my G25 won't become useless.

bit off-topic but hopefully Logitech work something out for PS4, not looking too likely I must say though.

My thoughts exactly.

Thank you Spagetti (and Amar)

I agree but it won't be done. Can't miss xmas.

About wheels, in the past controllers had to be changed with every single console generation (that's how business and the world works) and also controllers get better as time goes by. If your G25 isn't compatible and want to play FM5 then it's a good opportunity for upgrading, selling the G25 and getting something better.

It is not reasonable to ask SNES gamepad support, for business and quality reasons. The g25 is 6 years old, which is a lot for a gaming accessory and certainly won't be supported in the PS5 so you'll have to change it someday, just like cellphones and cars.
