Just think how bad it will be with 15 other cars on track, Rain, Bumps, Tyre Smoke etc etc...god help us.

Seems Eurogame have cockpit view at 40fps at times so why does it look and feel like 15fps on my tv? It's just constant juddering.

Don't worry my friend, its just a placeholder;-)

The actual game looks, drives, performs, sounds totally different, this is just (all together now) "a placeholder" zzzzz:-D

Yeah because it's just a demo, right? Nothing to moan about here.

Lol:-D
.....wall of text....

Funny how it doesn't even say in the demo that "it is a work in progress and is not representative of the final product" as well.

My position is "it is a work in progress and may not be representative of the final product". I'm not willing to draw any conclusions yet about a game that's 6 months away from release. This is from Prologue, surely much more than a demo and much more representative of GT5 right?

I'm sure people were freaking out just like they are here that the tire smoke was nowhere near realistic and there was no rubber left on the track and it was fixed of course for the full product. It's too early to draw conclusions about the full game. Anyone who does so is just overzealous in their contempt for the franchise.

A. PD has drastically optimized the code or will be able to do so in the next 2 months..
B. PD has to postpone release date, getting more time to do the optimizations.
C. PD reverts back to the GT5 graphics engine.
D. PD releases it as is.

I give option A a low chance.
Option C gives "This is just a demo, it's not representative for the final product" a new meaning.

Did Kaz overreach once again?
E. Cancel PS3 and move to PS4, wait for another 5 years...

My position is blah blah blah!

And again, adding smoke and tyre tracks is far, far easier than getting the game running at 60fps constantly, improving sounds and AA!

Prologue, which had higher quality textures by the way, was also released like 2 years before GT5

In all honesty, I'd prefer a solid 30fps than a heavily inconsistent 60.

Then you don't understand racing games and why they need to be 60fps!

Grid runs at 30!

At least thats one good thing about Forza, it runs at a rock solid 60fps

And? Games like Dirt 3 and Grid 2 are very enjoyable for me and they both run at 30fps.

Forget sounds...that isn't part of the mix this time around. The rest, as I said, will have to wait and see. It's just silly to draw conclusions about a game that isn't released yet. Be concerned yes, but I'd rather spend the next 6 months optimistic, than crying in my beer over something that hasn't happened yet. If the game is released and I waste my $60 on it and it turns out worse than GT5 in many ways, it'll probably push me into another product costing PD all my DLC purchases. Impacting the pocketbook is the only way to get this stuff done.

Agreed. I had this thought as well. I mean, it will be a wise decision to have 30fps than having to deal with getting a soild 60fps. It will annoy some people, but what can you do if your game's performance is struggling?

PD really needs to relax instead of killing themselves to try and get these kinda of stuff working properly. Don't worry about the next-gen racing games, just focus on getting the game perfect on current gen for now. đź‘Ť

Actually at some moments Forza's fps also drops too, I remember when I played it and saw a comparison between it and GT5's fps.

I'm not going to be disappointed, i expect it to get only slightly better!
It you lot with your "its only a demo" & "its only a placeholder" who are going to be disappointed!

I also think it'll ease some stress off of them considering they don't have to get everything optimized to get as close to 60 as possible.
Exactly! You don't understand!
You'd rather have a constantly jumping 40-60fps than a solid 30? Well in that case, you're right. I don't understand.

No, i want as close as possible to 60fps all the time, drop to 720p if need be but 60fps is a must!
30fps and it wouldn't be taken seriously anymore.

Quite the opposite. I'm more than capable of having an intellectual discussion without an emotional investment. If the final product comes and I don't enjoy it, I'll be unhappy, but it won't be because I've been wishing for 6 months for PD to fix the flaws in the demo, it'll be because I assessed the game on it's own merits after it's released. I don't expect perfection and never did. I expect improvement, mainly in the physics, online gameplay and car selection. Everything else is a bonus for me. At this point GT6 is full of possibilities for me and I'm sure many, many, many others.

Okay well last time I played before it dropped when I was in smoke or, I don't know I can't remember how it dropped but it did at one point.

The future of GT is doomed with people like you saying it is ok to drop to 30fps!

Wow.... That was, alittle cold. :l But I'll still stick on @Eks's side and say 30fps is the better choice. :sly:

Nah, we're just accepting that it's better to do 30 than to try to achieve what can't be achieved. đź‘Ť

You need to read up on why it is far better to run at 60fps than 30fps.

Why do you think PD and Turn 10 target 60fps in the first place? For fun?

So you'd rather have pretty graphics and run at 30fps than dropping resolution to 720p and 60fps?

Unbelievable!

And the truth is, if PD made sacrifices in other things to get that solid 60 fps, people would just carp about those sacrifices the same way they carp about 60 fps:sly::crazy:

You say unbelievable, but it seems that you're decidedly in the minority.

Now I don't know to what extent this demo will be graphically representative of Gran Turismo 6, but I'd be gutted if the frame rate and aliasing was worse than GT5, and that could well be possible, but even I get frustrated when I see the same people refusing to acknowledge anything positive that PD does, calling the rest of us blind, sheep etc.

PD just can't win. :indiff:

Based on what.

Also:

We have no evidence to suggest that PD, or Sony Computer Entertainment, would allow one of their flagship games to be worse than it's three year old predecessor in terms of aliasing or frame-rate.
30fps would definitely be worse.
